“Flying Tiger 3” to Start Filming in the Summer

Although Flying Tiger 2 <飛虎之雷霆極戰> was streamed online last year, the drama’s current broadcast on TVB is enjoying strong viewership ratings, prompting Shaw Brothers to greenlight a third season, which will start filming this summer.

Garnering 31.7 ratings points, Flying Tiger 2 had the highest-rated premiere in the second-line drama lineup since 2016. Cast members Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), and Joel Chan (陳山聰) joined fans in celebrating the good results.

As a central character in the Flying Tiger franchise, Michael will be returning for the third season. He does not mind filming the action series in the middle of summer, “As long as we have jobs, then we’re not afraid of hard work.”

Eva Lai (黎燕珊), who portrays a councilwoman in Flying Tiger 2, praised the script and the freshness of her character. When asked if Eva will be in Flying Tigers 3, she expressed, “I haven’t heard anything yet, but I’m sure the company will make the most appropriate arrangement.”

Although Kenneth Ma (馬國明) took part in Flying Tigers 2, he will not be returning for a third season because of schedule conflicts. Currently working on Plan B  <BB大晒>, Kenneth said it has been difficult to film his scenes with a baby and they often leave work at the end of the day with unfinished scenes. He joked that he may need to reconsider next time he is offered to work with a baby again.

Kenneth also took the opportunity to apologize for making an inappropriate comment on the talk show Tiger’s Talk with Lawrence Ng (吳啟華), in which both actors shared that they were invited by Mainland actresses into their hotel rooms while filming in China. As netizens tried to speculate the identities of these actresses, Kenneth and Lawrence’s revelations were considered to be in poor taste.  Kenneth expressed, “That problem started with me, and I know that the misunderstanding upset some people. I apologize for my actions and hope everyone will let the situation go.”

  1. this is the very reason why hk entertainment is dying. They put so much resources into a project to get all these marketable stars but give 0 attention to the plot.
I watched the flying tiger 2 and gave up after 2 episodes.. loved all the casts whom I grew up with but the storyline is unbearable

    1. @ivan

I’ve trained myself to watch these garbage dramas for the nostalgia rather then for the plot. I suggest you should too.

      1. @bubbles23

I’m watching it for the 80’s and 90’s stars in Michael Miu, Lawrence Ng, Eddie Cheung, etc. I could care less about the rest.

      2. @anon I’m impressed actually, as I find it extremely difficult to sit through garbage, even for artists I like. To me, it’s a waste of precious time that I don’t have. If I wanted to see those artists, I just go pull out an 80s or 90s series (or movie) that they starred in and that I actually enjoyed,

@ivan I also watched around 2 episodes and gave up. Such a waste of the veteran cast! And now they want to do 3rd installment? Speechless….

  2. didn’t watch the 1st season watched 2nd season inconsistently as my husband was watching over dinner. thought the story was boring and didn’t follow.
