2023 TVB Anniversary Awards: Charmaine Sheh and Moses Chan Win Top Awards

The 2023 TVB Anniversary Awards was held in Macao on January 14^th and as predicted, Charmaine Sheh took home the Best Actress Award for the third time for her role in The Queen of News <新聞女王>, while simultaneously winning the Favorite Actress in Malaysia and Greater Bay Area. This was a major accomplishment for the actress as Charmaine holds the record for winning the Best Actress award three times. Moses Chan also took home the Best Actor Award for his role in Narcotics Heroes <破毒強人>.

Charmaine’s third Best Actress win comes after having previously winning the award for role in2006’s drama Maiden’s Vow <鳳凰四重奏> and 2014 drama Line Walker <使徒行者>. In her winning speech, Charmaine shed tears of joy and said, “The saying ‘One doesn’t lead to two. Two doesn’t lead to three” is often used to describe unlucky events, but I just prove that it’s wrong!”

Charmaine continued, “It was difficult to win an award because it is not just my personal effort, but it’s everyone’s effort. I am so happy to have worked with a group of good actors. You have given me good memories. I hope to find good role and good dramas in the future, so everyone can watch good dramas. Also I want to thank my mom for taking me all this time.”

Moses Wins Best Actor

It has been 16 years since Moses last won the Best Actor Award for 2007 drama Heart of Greed <溏心風暴>. When Moses was announced as the winner of the Best Actor Award, the actor embraced his wife Aimee Chan (陳茵媺)in a touching moment.

Accepting the award, Moses said, “Narcotics Heroes is a series full of surprises that attracted a lot of viewers who had already stopped watching TV for a long time. I want to thank my wife, who has managed the family so well so that I can devote myself to acting. Thank you for my mom and my two brother. Also to the fans who have supported me for many years; I have already considered them as my friends. Thank you to the audience in front of the TV. We are only stronger with your support.”

Kenneth Ma Wins Malaysia Favorite TVB Actor

After recently tying the knot, Kenneth Ma has another reason to celebrate after winning Malaysia Favorite TVB Actor for his role in the Queen of News. In his winning speech, the actor said, “Thank you Chung Shu Kai (監製鍾) for giving me this role. Thank you Charmaine Sheh; it’s all thanks to you that the drama exploded. Thank you to the production crew, I wouldn’t win this award without you.”

Kenneth also gave a shout out to the other projects that he worked on this year, “Thank you The Invisibles <隱形戰隊> producer Jazz Boon (文偉鴻). Thank you Narcrotic Heroes producer Marco Law (羅永賢). This year, I was in three of the highest rated dramas. I also want to thank my wife. I hope she will continue to be happy. A happy wife brings luck to the husband! This year, there is no award for the most Popular Male Character”, but I already won that award four times. No one has broken my record.”

Bosco Wins Greater Bay Area’s Most Favorite TVB Actor

As the winner of Greater Bay Area’s Most Favorite TVB Actor Award for his role in Mission Run <廉政狙擊>, Bosco Wong kept his winning speech brief. Bosco said, “Thank you TVB. Thank you to the people who have supported me. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to enter the Greater Bay Area Market.”
