IU Donates Makes Generous Donation on Her Birthday
Continuing her philanthropic tradition, South Korean singer and actress IU celebrates her 30th birthday by donating a total of 210 million Korean Won to four separate organizations.
IU is known for her charitable works and would not hesitate to make a financial contribution in her and her fan club’s name on her days of significance or during a crisis. This year, IU’s donation will support medical and surgical expenses of children and adolescents with hearing impairments and to support low-income single-parent families.
IU’s agency confirms the donation with a message on social media along with the thank-you cards from the charities, “This year, we want to spread warmth and love with UAE [IU’s fan club]. We are very thankful.”
Meanwhile, IU is preparing for the premiere of her film Broker directed by renowned Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda . IU will be taking on a mature role as she plays a new mother who considers abandoning her baby. The film also stars Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, Bae Doo Na, Lee Joo Young and will premiere on June 8.

Although her acting is average, I am impressed of the frequent news about her donations.
I too find her acting average.. but I do enjoy her songs. She has definitely done alot for charity…her fanclubs donated alot on her behalf too.
I do like one of her songs a lot, think it’s a remix and she isn’t the original singer.
Good to see her fan club using the money for good cause. Never understand those fans who spent on celebrities’ birthday gifts, especially mega LED birthday greetings on shopping malls.
