It’s official! Rumors of Korean superstars IU and Park Bo Gum uniting onscreen for a new romantic drama has finally been confirmed, after uncertain talk!
Oppa’s First Drama Since Military Service
Marking actress IU’s small screen return after a 4-year hiatus since fantasy drama Hotel del Luna, she is cast as lead character Ae Soon, a confident, optimistic and brave young girl who harbors dreams of becoming a poet despite not receiving much schooling. Meanwhile, oppa Park Bo Gum plays Gwan Shik, a conscientious and honest youth who is secretly in love with Ae Soon, and will love and protect her wholeheartedly. Last seen in Record of Youth, it is also the actor’s comeback drama after his return from mandatory military service.
Announced by Pan Entertainment on January 27, the new drama, titled You Have Done Well / You Did Good (literal title), drew its name from a saying in Jeju dialect “You were tricked”.
Set in the 1950s, the drama narrative will depict through the four seasons, the adventurous lives of young men and women who grew up on Jeju island. Themed around rebellion, first love, nostalgia, and youthful memories, it offers viewers a glimpse into the lives of our parents and grandparents.
