On September 9, Sarah Song (宋熙年) and Jason Chan (陳智燊) welcomed their second son, Jamie, into the family. The second-time parents shared the good news on Instagram by posting a photo of Jason holding Jamie, who has a head full of hair and big eyes, while their eldest son, Damon, looked at the baby happily. The couple enthusiastically expressed their happiness of becoming a family of four.
In an interview, Jason could not hide his joy and shared, “It is very lively but tiring to have both a two-year-old child and a newborn at home. It is a good thing Damon sticks to me so that Sarah can focus on the newborn. Sometimes when I look at the clock, it is already 7 or 8 p.m., and that means it is time to get the kids in bed, and the day is gone just like that. It is hard to describe it, but the day is very busy yet fulfilling.”
Given that this is his second time as a father, he expressed that he wasn’t as nervous this time around. However, they had to be extra cautious when entering the hospital due to COVID-19. Luckily, they had doctors and nurses who took great care of them until they were able to bring Jamie home.
When asked if anything funny happened during the delivery, Jason laughed and said, “Since the nurse saw that I had experience cutting the umbilical cord, I got to do it myself. I was very flustered, but I completed the umbilical cord cutting ceremony.”
Jason added that Jamie weighed 3.02 kilograms (6.6 pounds) at birth, which is very similar to Damon’s birth weight of 2.9 kilograms (6.39 pounds). “But now that he is home and eating a lot, he will become a fat baby soon.”
