Joe Chen On Her Way to Find True Love with “Meeting Mr. Right 2”

The first episode of Meeting Mr. Right <女兒們的戀愛> season 2 aired on September 5th, and the season’s main star, Joe Chen (陳喬恩) is on her way to meet the Mr. Right of her dreams. Fans are excited to see whether or not the 40-year-old Taiwanese actress will finally meet her true love.

The second season started with Joe meeting Alan Chen (曾偉昌), a Malaysian entrepreneur investing in a healthy food business. There was no awkwardness between the two at their first date, which was at a modern museum. Alan admitted that he has never gone on dates or hung out with actors before, but he would try his best to treat Joe like any other ordinary person.

Despite their friendly first date, viewers were less than pleased. Netizens felt that Alan’s looks were below average; Joe’s own father, who appears on the show as an observer, also didn’t seem to be very infatuated with Alan. “I think the kid (Joe) won’t like him,” he said. “I don’t like him that much either.”

There were, however, some netizens who defended Alan. Though not exactly very handsome, they praised Alan for his sunny smile and honesty.

The first season of Meeting Mr. Right premiered in January 2019 and starred S.H.E’s Selina Jen (任家萱), who started dating Derek Chang (張軒睿) after the show.
