Kelly Cheung May Anchor “Forensic Heroes V”

Quarantine practices due to the coronavirus outbreak has largely contributed to the record-breaking ratings success of Forensic Heroes IV <法證先鋒IV>. After months of postponement and scandals, the cast and its producer, Mui Siu-ching (梅小青), can now breathe a sigh of relief for its success.

What was originally meant to be Mui Siu-ching’s last production before retirement has now become a set-up for a new series. According to rumors, Mui plans on producing one last sequel—series five—and will be bringing back Kelly Cheung (張曦雯) to be the sequel’s new main lead.

According to a source, Mui had originally wanted to write Kelly as the series’s final villain—the clown killer—but immediately changed the ending when TVB had greenlit a fifth series.

In the final episode of series four, Kelly’s character Emma was given an ambiguous open ending, paving the way for a new season.

Kelly said, “I didn’t know I was the big boss until I saw the last episode! A couple of months ago, Siu-ching jeh did call me back to film a few scenes of me wearing clown makeup, one which included me removing the makeup. We didn’t film that shot in the end.”

Asking if she wants to take part if a fifth series, Kelly said, “Of course!”

Selena Lee (李施嬅), who is no longer contracted with TVB, will allegedly not return for series five, and Kelly Cheung will be replacing her billing. Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Shaun Tam (譚俊彥), Alice Chan (陳煒), and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗), being “new favorites” of Mui, will reportedly return.

Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), the star of series four reshoots, will also allegedly be returning for the fifth season.

There is also a rumor that Mui has been in talks with Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), both who have respectively starred in the first and second series, to return aspecial guest roles.

Mui has neither confirmed nor denied those claims.

  1. Kelly Cheung as main lead… Astonishing. Surely villains aren’t main leads? Makes sense though since the open ending.
    No Selena?! 🙁
Linda Chung will probably come depending on schedule time to take care of her kids. And Charmaine Sheh she’ll only do it if she’s gonna be given lots of $$$

I truly wish that there is no fifth one. Dont they look at the rating/score of the drama? This one is even lower than that horrible third one. The reasons that it may have done well is because the quarantine and the name forensic heroes. If it was named another name, people wouldnt even look at it.
This one was so bad. Bad acting, bad cases and bad love stories. Everyone tried to look cool while acting, making them seem stoic and like robots. The cases were so forgettable. Moreover, they were always solved when one of the leads get a hint from his/ her personal life. Suddenly, he/she knew what had happened. I was like: what the f? Is there so much coincidence in real life? Don’t even start with the love stories. They were so forced. Ko siblings love story appeared out of nowhere.
All in all, I found this drama getting on my nerves and dumb

@dreamer thats the biggest problem now, TVB is SO MUCH into love relationship (and complicated) of the leads nowadays that they are losing sight of the storyline itself.

In the past, TVB place more importance on storyline and love relationship was but a successfuly by product.

I think they are trying hard to follow success of Kdrama but they forgot that Kdrama has many good looking actors and actresses but TVb does not.

All in all, there is only so much of love story one can stomach from the handful of HK actors/actresses

  3. Linda could act cute long ago. Now I do not think Linda can act better than Grace Chan does and Grace Chan is not really good at acting.

Charmaine is overrated. She is considered more famous but I do not really think she is much better than new TVB lead artists. Also Charmaine is getting old and nowadays companies only want to have young girls to be leads.

@someonefromspace #Charmaine S is overrated# I thought I was the only one who thought so. haha lol..right on… Yes, the only reason she has not being asked to play mother roles is probably due to her still some sort of popularity which I never get the hype w her. I remember some women who are barely 40’s and asked to be playing mother roles. She is getting old as she’s in her mid 40’s but TVB does not promote youngsters like Korea/Japan/China so I guess she can still pair up w/some dudes since TVB really do not promote fresh meats anyway?? She can still pair up w/Wayne Lai/Moses Chan etc….hahah lol……

@someonefromspace its an understatement to say “Linda cannot act better than Grace and Grace is not really good”

I think Grace should not even blind us with her “i am trying very hard to act” stunt.
      Linda….Linda……what acting?

@someonefromspace @wm2017 Charmaine isn’t young, but she has value in the industry, esp. after Yanxi Palace, she became more famous.

TVB needs to promote younger male leads.

@someonefromspace i think Linda can act way better than Grace. Linda was young in Heart of Greed & Moonlight Resonance, but her performance was pretty good compared to Grace

Oh please TVB…stop producing any reboot/sequel for Forensic Heroes franchise…just produce a new crime drama with different title instead.

Only FH1 & FH2 lead by Bobby are considered classics to me. FH3 is just acceptable because of good leads (Wayne & Maggie), while FH4 obviously lost the spark. So what’s the point of producing the sequel?

Besides, i don’t think any of the three actresses mentioned above could attract high viewership/anticipation for the sequel. Charmaine may be able to pull ratings bcos of her popularity, but not if she is to be a special guest star only.

Seriously…Raymond Wong to be the main male lead (senior chemist) again? Oh no…he’s not a bad actor but the lead role of FH is just not suitable for him. I guess Bobby has set high standards for the main role initially, so it’s not easy to find another actor who can portray the role as good as him.

Exactly my thoughts what’s with tvb these days? They claimed they needed to get rid off some employees because don’t have the money for them now they’re throwing away those money instead keeping those employees that’s even more wasting money for sure. Oh come on Kelly Cheung? I’m laughing my butt off now!! Could have put Mandy Wong or her other best friend Candice Chiu better.

Can Mui Siu-ching just carry out what she promised and retire? No point producing more FH sequels if they are going to be trash.
