TVB actor Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿) loves to share his home cooking on Instagram with his fans. Now, they can catch more of his culinary skills on his new cooking show Tonight’s Dinner Guest <今晚請客>, in which Sharon Chan (陳敏之) is the co-host. In a press conference, the two hosts revealed that Lok Yi would cook a total of 16 different dishes throughout eight episodes.
As Lok Yi’s assistant, Sharon will take charge of plating the food. She said, “I will be doing some simple plating with the kids. I have a high score in arts and crafts, so there shouldn’t be a problem.”
In preparation for filming, Lok Yi bought seafood to practice cooking it at home. When asked if he had to use his own money for his home practices, he said, “Well, it’s useful for me to learn it. I also learn a lot from Alice Chan (陳煒) when I watch her cook.”
Known for being an excellent cook, it is inevitable that Alice will be a guest on the show. Although there was news that Alice replaced Sharon in Flying Tiger 3 <飛虎3之壯志英雄> after the latter became embroiled in the political turmoil, Sharon excitedly expressed, “The company organizes the guest list, but it is obvious that we would invite Alice. She is the goddess of cooking at TVB.”
Sharon Will Sacrifice Acting for Her Son
Addressing the rumors that TVB only gave Sharon a variety show to film due to her political controversy, she said, “I took off from work before because of the pandemic. I didn’t film dramas because I wouldn’t be able to wear a mask, and I didn’t want to contaminate my family.”
Since the pandemic has settled down, she decided to resume her work. She loves that she doesn’t have to work overnight with variety shows, giving her more time to spend with her son. She said, “Drama filming will have to wait since I need a work-life balance. I want to wait until my son is older before I film dramas again. If I encounter a great drama and the timing is right, I will accept it. As a mom, making sacrifices is inevitable.”
