“Lie to Love” is Surprisingly Suspenseful

Starring Leo Luo Yunxi (罗云熙) and Cheng Xiao (程潇), revenge-driven romance Lie to Love <良言写意> easily gives an impression of the typical enemies-to-lovers story. Surprisingly, it goes beyond ordinary idol tropes with its mysterious vibes and yet to be uncovered secrets. Intense and exciting, the 32-episode series has been hooking viewers in for more thrill since its broadcast on November 30.

Originally lovers Su Xieyi (Cheng Xiao) and Li Zeliang (Luo Yunxi) were unbreakable until one day, Xieyi’s family falls apart with the death of her father. With all traces pointing to Zeliang to be the suspect, distrust grows between them as Xieyi fakes amnesia to investigate the truth and plans to put Zeliang behind bars. Fueled by pain and anger from betrayal, Xieyi struggles with mixed emotions as shocking twists take toll.

Working together for the first time, Cheng Xiao and Yunxi make a refreshing pair and are showing chemistry in their performances. Testing each other’s wits and courage, their characters succeed in getting on the nerves of one another. Many find their interactions intriguing, as it feels like their every word said has a hidden meaning or motive regarding the truth. An idol romance drama that gives a viewing experience more like a mystery spy thriller, more exciting scenes are expected to come.
