Michael Miu Hopes to Collaborate With Tony Leung Ka Fai

Michael Miu (苗僑偉) is scheduled to film a new TVB series with Tony Leung Ka Fai (梁家輝) in January. Although Michael is looking forward to their collaboration, he shared it may not happen due to schedule conflicts.

On September 30, Michael and Michelle Yim (米雪) attended the IPO announcement press conference for Royal Medic, a Chinese health supplement brand that they have endorsed over the years. A Royal Medic brand ambassador for six consecutive years, Michael is again renewing his endorsement contract for a seven-figure sum. Now that the company is planning to trade publicly on the stock market, Michael jokingly said that he hopes Royal Medic will offer him stocks in addition to the contract fees.

Michael and Michelle have filmed a romantic dance sequence as a part of Royal Medic’s new ad campaign. Michael shared that he did not practice beforehand since he was confident that he would look great as long as he follows Michelle’s lead. He also did not forget to promote the company, saying “I usually ride the bicycle, play golf, and use the treadmill [to keep fit]. Men should take good care of their health both inside and out. We drink often at social events so we should take supplements that will boost our liver functions!”

When speaking to the press, Michael revealed details about his upcoming collaboration with Tony Leung. Scheduled to begin filming in January 2014, the series will revolve around the police department’s internal conflicts. While Michael will certainly appear in the series, he shared that Tony may not participate due to scheduling issues. “It looks like the timing doesn’t fit with Tony’s schedule, so we may not be able to collaborate after all… It would be very disappointing if Tony can’t join us. I am really looking forward to this!”

Michael also expressed excitement when reporters mentioned that Anthony Wong (黃秋生) has plans to film for TVB as well, saying that he would love to work with the acclaimed movie king.

Michael addressed recent rumors about his business ventures. Earlier, reports claimed that Michael has plans to start a production company with Eric Tsang (曾志偉). At today’s event, Michael clarified that his wife Jamie Chik (戚美珍) is actually the one who will partner with Eric, and that they are planning to open up an entertainment business that will be involved in events such as music concerts. When asked if he will help Jamie promote the company, Michael replied, “They don’t need my help with promotions, they’ve got Eric!”
