New Set Photos Released for “Legend of Anle”
Historical romance Legend of Anle <安乐传> starring Dilraba Dilmurat (迪麗熱巴) and Gong Jun (龔俊) has dropped new, crisp set photos as a treat for fans! Teasing couple photos of the two leads, with Dilraba playing steely, courageous and intelligent female bandit Ren Anle and Gong Jun as seemingly cold but affectionate Crown Prince Han Ye, the two look visually compatible and dashing in the stills.
Revenge-seeking Arc
The two characters in the original novel on which the drama is based are charmingly written and both Dilraba and Gong Jun, who are enjoying high popularity, are thought to be well-suited for their roles. Based on The Emperor’s Book <帝皇書> by web novelist Xing Ling (星零), the angst-filled and heart-rendering story tells of Di Ziyuan whose family is falsely accused of treason and tragically killed, leaving her as the sole survivor. Vowing to seek out the truth to avenge her family, she assumes the identity of the female bandit Ren Anle and schemes to get into the palace.
Han Ye Vows to Protect Her for Life
Meanwhile, Crown Prince Han Ye appears gentlemanly and affectionate but is really a discerning, empathetic ruler-to-be full of strategic schemes to win over his people’s hearts, revealing his often quirky and adorably-blur side. He is in fact childhood sweethearts with Di Ziyuan, who has been betrothed to him. Powerless to stop the feud between the Di and Han families from escalating into the tragic extermination of the former, he vows to protect her for life when he later reunites with Di Ziyuan, who meets him under the guise of Ren Anle.

There’s a lot of contradictions in the descriptions. He’s cold but affectionate. Gentlemenly and affectionate but empathetic and discerning, strategic and quirky? Just throw out all the buzz words.
She’s beautiful, but bandit? The costuming doesn’t seem to jive with that.
Yup, it sounds really contradicting. Also the plot sounds really boring and kinda old. Childhood sweetheart, your family murders my family, meet again to fall in love >_> also almost like the long ballad Plot.
These childhood sweetheart/you were always meant to be together tropes are so unrealistic. It’s ultimately not healthy. Let the leads experience other loves and heartbreaks to know who is really a good long-term fit for them. Not every ex is bad, each person is grey and has their history.
The styling looks similar to the other period dramas.
@BearBear You comment just reminded me of the old TVB styling… Times really have changed. Lol…The production teams are making more effort with styling now. But after a while, they all do look similar..
@Hohliu for a moment I do wish to see a little closer to the older TVB styling, not their recent multicolor but very fake and cheap looking palace accessories hahaha.
I mean, I will argue only Gong Jun is the gorgeous one, but yeah .
