Priscilla Wong Responds to Rumors with Tony Hung: “He Was the First to Let Go”

Tony Hung (洪永城) and Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) shippers were reminded of how compatible they were as a couple when the onscreen duo walked hand-in-hand for the StarHub TVB Awards red carpet last weekend. Although both Tony and Priscilla have gone public with their own relationships, many fans still hoped there would be a happy ending for their favorite couple.

Tony and Priscilla, both former television presenters for Now TV and i-Cable, signed with TVB in 2012. Due to their similar career backgrounds and frequent appearances together, Tony and Priscilla became a rumored item. Although they denied dating, the pair did admit that they are very compatible friends in real life.

However, the rumored couple eventually went their separate ways—in early 2014, Priscilla and her Madam Cutie On Duty <師奶MADAM> costar Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) confirmed their relationship. Earlier this year, Tony admitted that he is dating his Rear Mirror <載得有情人> costar, Natalie Tong (唐詩詠).

Nonetheless, Tony and Priscilla’s appearance together at the StarHub red carpet reignited old sparks. A netizen, who is a fan of Priscilla, posted a brief essay titled “I think every man has a Priscilla Wong inside his heart,” which became a popular post online. In the essay, the fan used Tony’s perspective to describe his thoughts about their relationship. He called them “really compatible friends who could somehow never get together.”

He said, “Until the day Priscilla Wong and Edwin Siu got together, you’ll start to realize: ‘Hi, it turns out that I actually really like Priscilla Wong.’ Too bad you’ve lost your 100th chance to be with her. The only thing that you can do now is to continue to be good friends in front of everyone, like nothing has happened, but you both know that something did happen. But in that one rare collaboration opportunity, you get to hold hands with Priscilla Wong… two days later, you read the newspapers, you see the photo, you smile, and you cry.”

Many netizens found the post amusing, but also found its content very relatable to relationships. The post quickly became a hot topic, trending in various online discussion forums. A netizen responded by rewriting the essay in Priscilla’s perspective, which also became a popular topic.

The popularity of the essays eventually reached to Priscilla, who shared her own, rewritten version of the post on her social media account. The post had over 13,000 likes within three hours.

In Priscilla’s version, she hinted that Tony was the first one to let go of their pseudo-relationship. She said, “One day, Tony Hung said that he has already found a her; it was time to let go; time to go on stage first; Priscilla Wong was emotional, [but] sent her blessings. Priscilla Wong continued to walk the red carpet alone, until one day, she told Tony Hung that she also found a him. We still want to use all our hearts to bless everyone. After walking the red carpet, we walk the stage. Hopefully your walk will be even better than before.”

    1. @janet72 agreed that tony has to be one of those few who has to really groom themselves to look good. he is rocking that suit imo

  1. relationship are sometimes like that.. good friends don’t even realize they have feeling for each other until it’s too late .. oh wait.. am I referring to some kdrama right now? ehehehhe

he does look good in that suit but I don’t find him attractive.. same for Priscilla…. but happy that they both find love.

    2. @happybi when dolled up correctly, Priscilla looks pretty. but then again, she’s “plain” in comparison to stars that have PS but denies it over and over again because Priscilla’s face is natural.

      1. @riceball120 I don’t find her that pretty even when dolled up either. Her face is a big strange to me… it looks kinda flat…. But yes, plain is the word… think she only look average IMO. But yes, at least she’s natural. Unlike some star like you said who keep denying it. But then her fan will insist we are crazy for saying she has PS. oh well one can never win.

I understand your opinion. But please note that im not talking about one celebrity. im talking about Viann Zhang, ABB, Yang Mi (i love her but im starting to see where people accused her of PS) and many more. While people accuse Tang Yan as another PS doll, i cant really agree because imo she still looks the same to me so idk.

      3. @riceball120 ahh ic.. thought you were referring to ABB. at least she’s the one that come to mind most often. ehehehhe VZhang.. def. ps… ABB also.. not sure about YM though. and not familiar with TT.

      4. @happybi lol there’s too many PS celebrities! i mean i find no fault in it because who isn’t insecure about their looks esp when they are a woman? i just wished some of them would admit to it because while makeup does wonders, it doesn’t make one’s face that dramatically different.

  2. Glad that both found love. I kinda like Priscilla so happy for her. although i did not like Tony in Captain of Destiny, Im happy that this goofball found love also.

But i’m really amused that some neitizens wrote a kdrama…Priscilla and the two neitzens should become a director as the storylines may be even better than the trash TVB is really good at writing currently.

  3. tony looks great in that suit even though he has a goofy look. 人靠衣装 is very true…just like Johnson lee looked great in all episodes of Sze U Tonight.
