Ren Jialun and Bai Lu Reincarnate into a Modern World in “Forever and Ever”

Starring Ren Jialun (任嘉伦) and Bai Lu (白鹿), iQiyi’s reincarnation romance Forever and Ever <一生一世> premiered on September 6 to the warm embrace of its fans. Stirring hearts with a love-at-first-sight relationship that lasts into another lifetime, Jialun and Bai Lu’s love story simmers slowly but leaves an unforgettable impression with its genuine emotions.

Sequel to historical romance One and Only <周生如故>, Forever and Ever is a modern urban tale adapted from popular novel One Life, One Incarnation <一生一世美人骨> by author Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝). A fateful meeting occurs between chemistry professor Zhou Shengchen (Ren Jialun) and top voice actress Shi Yi (Bai Lu) at the airport, where they instantly feel an inexplicable yet heart-stirring connection with one another.

Reflected through his studious aura, Shengchen devotes most of his time in working and studying polymer chemistry. While he generally does not care much for love, he will passionately pursue after meeting the right person.

Shi Yi also does not expect herself to get romantically involved, as she wants to lead a peaceful life unbothered by fame, wealth, and annoying suitors. But fate has its own mind, and she finds herself falling for a stranger and wildly agrees to his proposal.

While they marry initially for the sake of Shengchen’s family business, he and Shi Yi eventually grow increasingly dependent on each other as they work to resolve business disputes and life crises together. Progressing from strangers to friends, and later partners for life, their relationship illustrates how trust and willpower could foster true love.

With a total of 30 episodes, Forever and Ever airs two episodes every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

  1. I am really looking forward to this… I have watched all of these two actors projects and really enjoy most of it… Season one was heartbreaking but knowing Part 2 will be aired, it kept me going..
To be honest, the story could be better written as both actors can deliver but it could be worse…
