Bai Lu And Zhang Linghe Are Still Together?

Rumored to have got together on the set of Story of Kunning Palace <寧安如夢> last year, main cast Bai Lu (白鹿) and Zhang Linghe (張凌赫) were even snapped living together, with paparazzi spilling that the two were persistent despite their respective agencies’ disapproval. Meanwhile, netizens’ curiosity on their relationship status was piqued again by both swirling breakup rumors, in light of the drama’s release!

Sweetness on Overdrive

Going on livestream to promote the drama together with other cast members, Bai Lu and Zhang Linghe’s interactions felt friendly and authentic, unlike that of a couple who has separated. In the beginning of the drama, Wang Xingyue (王星越) who stars as the righteous Zhang Zhe and Bai Lu’s character Jiang Xuening carry a torch for each other, evoking a jealous reaction from Xie Wei, Zhang Linghe’s character.  When Wang Xingyue asked Zhang Linghe what his character “Xie Wei” thinks Zhang Zhe is in Jiang Xuening’s eyes, the actor replied “Zhang Zhe merely belongs in Jiang Xuening’s past, while Master Xie figures in her present and future”, leading netizens to think he is making a clever proclamation!

When Wang Xingyue asked the cast to share interesting happenings on set, Bai Lu shared that there was a scene where Zhang Linghe’s character, dressed in an official’s costume with a black gauze cap had to lift and carry her, his cap got misaligned, which made her laugh out loud despite him being engrossed in the scene. Bai Lu even whipped out her phone to show the livestream audience her screengrab of the scene, to which Zhang Linghe exclaimed, “You should edit me to look better”. Not missing a beat, Bai Lu replied that the photo she showed was the best-looking of the lot. Their organic interactions and sweet banter had netizens smitten!

Analyzing the scene, netizens remarked that the two’s composite name “Bai Nian Hao He” (白年好赫) was prohibited just as Bai Jingting (白敬亭) and Song Yi (宋軼) who were rumored to have got together on the set of Destined <長風渡>, were not deliberately promoted as a couple during the drama’s publicity – which led them to conclude that real couples were deliberately kept low-key. Many also commented on how sweet and compatible the two were!
