Zhang Linghe to Film Modern Drama “The Best Thing”

Chinese actor Zhang Linghe (張凌赫) became famous after starring in three successful hits, Love Between Fairy and Devil <蒼蘭訣>, My Journey to You <雲之羽>, and Story of Kunning Palace <寧安如夢>. Last month, he finished filming another historical drama The Years of Life <度華年> opposite Zhao Jinmai (趙今麥).

When Zhang Linghe and Bai Lu (白鹿) were filming Story of Kunning Palace, they reportedly fell in love after just one month of filming. They were caught by the paparazzi entering and leaving the set together. Bai Lu even stayed at Zhang Linghe’s house for the night. Although the two never admitted to being in a relationship, netizens suspect they are still together based on their interactions and matching blue couple outfits last month.

Although known as a historical male god, Zhang Linghe is finally filming a modern drama. On March 21, he started filming The Best Thing <愛你> with Xu Ruohan (徐若涵). This is Zhang Linghe’s first idol drama in three years and fans were excited to see him at the blessing ceremony wearing a stylish black leather jacket and jeans.

The female lead is played by Xu Ruohan, who caused a stir in a passionate scene with Jerry Yan (言承旭) in The Forbidden Flower <夏花> last year. She recently participated in the second season of the professional actor training inspirational reality show Memories Beyond Horizon <無限超越班> and her performance was well received. Netizens are excited for the pairing due to their compatible and positive vibes.

The drama is adapted from Sheng Li’s (笙離) novel Loving You is the Best Thing I Have Ever Done <愛你，是我做過最好的事>. It tells the story of Xu Ruohan’s character who decides to visit a traditional Chinese medicine doctor because of insomnia. She unexpectedly meets the gentle and elegant He Suye played by Zhang Linghe. The two become connected through medicine and slowly develop a romantic relationship.
