“Squid Game 3” Drops Trailer
Netflix’s series, Squid Game, is one of the biggest Korean drama on the streaming platform. Although the series’ second season received mixed reviews, Squid Game 3 will be the final season and has attracted worldwide attention.
As one of the world most popular drama, last year’s Squid Game 2 broke the record for having the highest viewership in the first week of its premiere and entered the top 10 list of “world’s most popular non-English TV series” within three days. It is currently ranked second highest viewership with 192.6 million views sitting just behind Squid Game 1 at 265.2 million views.
The series’ final season will continue the plot with Seong Gi Hung (played by Lee Jung Jae) in the deadly game with his goal of bringing an end to the game. However, after being betrayed by his closest ally and witnessing the traumatic death of his friend, Seong Gi Hung will be challenged with his resolve while staying alive.
The trailer gives a glimpse of what fans can expect and opens with a shot of the soldiers carrying a coffin to the contestants’ resting area. When the coffin is opened, they find Seong Gi Hung resting inside. After Seong Gi Hung wakes up, a new game begins with players taking turns to use a giant capsule vending machine.
Many of the series’ cast has returned for the final season including Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, Jo Yu Ri, Lee David, Roh Jae Won, and Park Gyu Young.
Squid Game 3 will release on June 27th and fan will finally get to see how the series will end.
