This Is How Chilam Cheung Spends His Free Time

Chilam Cheung (張智霖) is not only a family man, but also a man of many talents. Good friends with Aaron Kwok (郭富城) and Shum Kar Wai (沈嘉偉), the trio often meet up to play mahjong, and their games can get quite intense.

In an interview with Christine Ng (伍詠薇) and Bob Lam (林盛斌) on the show Tiger’s Talk, Chilam mentioned that he has always loved to play mahjong, and developed that interest in childhood. After school, he would always force his older sister to play mahjong with him. Mahjong helps him de-stress after a day of long work.

Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), who was also on the show to promote The Impossible 3 <非凡三俠> with Chilam, joked that Chilam often gambles cars instead of actual cash. Christine then immediately demanded to know how much Chilam would gamble. Chilam turned red and said, “We go very little, seriously!” Bob pressed on, “How much every night?” Chilam said, “Seriously, enough for just a meal! A pack of ramen!” Chilam explained that he cannot gamble too much because he plays almost every day.

Behind Closed Doors: The Enigma of ...

“Six figures?” Christine asked. Chilam said no, but later admitted, “Just a few thousand!”

On the topic of his family, Chilam shared that his son, Morton Cheung (張慕童) is already 13 years old. As a young teen, Morton already has his own social group and relies less on his parents. Chilam said, “Yesterday he was still hugging me as he slept. Today he told me not to touch him! I was so hurt!”

Chilam said Morton is at an age where he would want to seem older. “So no more hugging and kissing!” said Chilam. “Not even his mother!” He joked that he has now resorted to looking back his Morton’s photos when he was younger to reminiscent the good times. “But then Morton would tell me to delete them!”
