ViuTV’s Remake of “Ossan’s Love” to Air in June

Anson Lo, Edan Lui, and Kenny Wong are caught in a love triangle in the new office romcom.

ViuTV’s remake of Japanese boys’ love (BL) drama Ossan’s Love <大叔的愛> will be broadcasting in June. In the drama, Edan Lui (呂爵安) realizes his boss Kenny Wong (黃德斌) has feelings for him and adding to his confusion, his co-worker Anson Lo (盧瀚霆) is also in love with him.

Earlier, the cast took promotional posters for the drama and also celebrated Kenny’s 58th birthday. Playing a joke, Edan pretended to kiss Kenny, which caused him to jump and made the whole group laugh.

Kenny’s only wish this year is for good health and that everything goes smoothly. After Ossan’s Love, Kenny he does not mind filming more gay-themed works in the future. Kenny admitted that he felt embarrassed when Edan pretended to kiss him, as the pair do not share any kissing scenes in the drama.

Though Kenny is looking forward to the drama’s broadcast, he does not dare to watch the BL scenes. Kenny and Edan share several intimate scenes, in which their characters “wrestle” from the kitchen to the bathroom and Edan kisses Kenny on the cheek.

As ViuTV is branding the Ossan’s Love remake as a youth comedy, the content is kept light and there are no erotic scenes. However, Edan and Anson do share a kiss in a pivotal scene.

With the attention the Ossan’s Love remake has generated, Edan has been pairing up with more male partners in commercials, including a McDonald’s ad that parodies the gay romance drama. Edan does not mind and actually finds filming with men more comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoying filming the Ossan’s Love remake, both Edan and Anson hope they can film a sequel or movie version. Since the Japanese version movie was filmed in Hong Kong, they believe that a Hong Kong-Japan collaboration would be an incredible experience.
