Yang Zi and Kris Wu’s “The Golden Hairpin” To Air Soon

Highly anticipated Chinese historical crime and romance The Golden Hairpin <青簪行> starring the hot pairing of Yang Zi (杨紫) and Kris Wu (吴亦凡) is rumored to air by the end of April or early May! As this is Yang Zi’s first historical detective drama and Kris’ first period role, the drama is closely watched since its casting was announced.

After a series of complications including COVID-19 delays and negative rumors, the drama had successfully completed filming last July and has been waiting for official release. Initially planned for 35 episodes, it is said The Golden Hairpin was extended to 60 episodes with an enriched storyline.

Adapted from popular novel Memoirs of the Golden Hairpin <簪中錄>, Tang Dynasty’s first genius detective Huang Zixia (Yang Zi) works undercover to help Prince of Kui Li Shubai (Kris Wu) solve strange crime mysteries within the kingdom.

Boosting its chances of becoming a success is the experienced production team behind The Golden Hairpin, which is directed by renowned Hong Kong director Lam Yuk Fun (林玉芬) who worked on Wu Xin: The Monster Killer <无心法师> and Eternal Love <三生三世十里桃花>.
