Christine Ng (伍詠薇) debunked rumors of her discontent by personally appearing at a Will Power <法外風雲> promotion on October 22. She joined co-stars Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Moses Chan (陳豪), and Samantha Ko (高海寧) in a kickboxing demonstration and was in a good mood throughout the event.

When Christine was absent at her new drama’s promo events last week, some speculated conflict between her and the production team, saying that Christine was unhappy about having less screen time than co-star Fala Chen. Christine was later revealed to be vacationing with friends Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) in France, and some saw it as an act of defiance against TVB’s partial treatment.

Yesterday, Christine finally clarified the situation. “I have already requested time off for vacation in advance. I will do my best to coordinate for future promotional activities.” She added that she had been planning this trip with Chilam and Anita for quite awhile.

A former ATV artist, Christine achieved mainstream success after joining competitor station TVB. Speaking about the recent TV license controversy, Christine expressed her full support for additional free broadcast stations. She also harbors no ill feelings towards ATV despite its recent failures. “I came from that TV station after all. I would not ask them to shut down….”

Co-star Wayne Lai, who also had a brief stint at ATV, pledges his loyalty to his current station and expressed disappointment at the current government. While at the event, Wayne filmed a short video clip for TVB’s entertainment news program, urging former colleagues to return to the TVB family. “Coming back is a very natural decision. Fei Jeh [Lydia Shum 沈殿霞] and Ivan Ho (何守信) have also worked at ATV before.”
