The paparazzi snapped pictures of 32-year-old Raymond Lam (林峯) and 18-year-old Karena Ng (吳千語) having a private dinner together in a western-style restaurant on July 21st. After the dinner, Raymond offered to take Karena home, in which they were photographed walking to Raymond’s car. In an earlier public appearance, Raymond Lam denied his alleged romance with Karena, explaining that other friends were also present during their dinner.
Karena’s Ambiguous Reply
Rebuffed her romantic rumors with Raymond, Karena said that they were having dinner with a mutual overseas friend. Karena said, “We did have dinner on several occasions.” When it was pointed out that she looked shocked in the dinner photos with Raymond, Karena said, “At the time, I never thought that reporters would appear, so I was shocked.” Karena added that there was nothing to hide and thus did not leave separately than Raymond from the establishment.
Karena explained that she first met Raymond on the film set of Love is… Pyjamas <男人如衣服> in April. They were not close at the time, and she never thought of starting a relationship with Raymond. When asked if their 14-year age gap is preventing their romantic sparks, Karena said, “We were not very close when we collaborated in our last film together, but I don’t think the age difference is that important. He is very talkative and we have similar topics to talk about.” Karena admitted that she and Raymond had exchanged phone numbers
Asked whether Raymond was pursuing her, Karena said, “No, I can’t sense that he is pursuing me.” Asked whether she had considering developing her relationship further with Raymond, Karena said, “It’s just dinner. I never considered whether there will be any development opportunities.”
Liu Yuqi Bashed By Netizens
Not long after the tabloids reported on Raymond and Karena’s alleged romance, Raymond’s rumored ex-flame, mainland actress, Liu Yuqi (劉羽琦), implied through her Weibo that Raymond is a playboy in love. She ironically called Raymond a good actor and a “flirtatious film king.”
Many netizens and fans attacked Yuqi, exclaiming that she was trying to use Raymond to gain popularity. In a phone interview, Yuqi sounded noticeably disappointed about the fans’ allegations, and said, “I already deleted a lot of those comments. I feel very misunderstood.” Asked whether it affected her work, Yuqi said, “No.”
Raymond Unaffected by Negative Rumors
Last night, Raymond was photographed filming his new movie in Lantau Island. Dressed in a thin gray t-shirt and shorts, the well-rested Raymond smiled lightly when he saw the paparazzi. Raymond remained silent and declined to comment on questions relating to Karena Ng or Liu Yuqi.

Because they are both around the same mental age… and they are both in the “learning stages” of their life. It is very different. At 18 how much life experience has this young girl had? How much does she know about men? It is much easier to take advantage of a naive girl than it is one who is older and has had experience in life.

To take advantage or not, it’s up to the intention of the guy. If he wants to take advantage of the girl, he can do it even the girl isn’t young anymore. If he doesn’t want to do such thing and respect a naive girl, nothing will happen.
18 is set as legal age in many countries – means that generally, ppl accept that 18 is enough for a woman to decide important things to her life, such as getting married or living by her own. If 18 is still immature (in general because specific cases, maybe 90 still can be immature), the law makers are all stupid?

. She was born in 1993. She passed the legal age 1 year ago and also the high school.
If he dates a 15-16 year old or younger girl, yup, a matter because she isn’t in legal age yet. But a 19 year old girl. What is the big deal? Of course, they won’t get married tomorrow. She’ll have time to enjoy life, don’t be worried.

Karena’s reply to reporters appear to indicate that she is interested in Raymond. She only sang praises for him.
I do agree with you Jayne that they LOOK very compatible together but on a deeper level, I’m not sure.
From her responses, I get the vibe that she is into him but wants to keep it subtle and low key for the time being.
Karena is just as likely to be a smart, adjusted young lady as an empty doll. Some girls are really mature for their age and many are attracted to older men. I hope that LF and Karena are getting to know each other better and that we’ll hear more news about them soon.
