Netizens Remain Relentless Towards Esther Yu

Chinese actress Esther Yu Shuxin (虞書欣) finally reemerged after a two-month disappearance following explosive scandals involving her family’s fortune and accusations of bullying fellow actress Zhang Haoyue (張皓越). Aside from quietly releasing a new single, Esther had been completely absent from public view.

With her new drama Speed and Love (雙軌), co-starring actor He Yu (何與), about to premiere, Esther made her comeback appearance in Thailand as a platform ambassador for an overseas promotional event.

Esther’s popularity soared after Love Between Fairy and Devil <蒼蘭訣> with Dylan Wang (王鶴棣), My Journey to You (雲之羽) with Zhang Linghe (張凌赫), and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy <永夜星河> with Ding Yuxi (丁禹兮). At the event in Thailand recently, Esther appeared slimmer but radiant in a green off-shoulder gown. Yet fans quickly noticed that she relied entirely on a translator and did not greet the audience in Thai, sparking comparisons with her long-time rival Rosy Zhao Lusi (趙露思), who famously won hearts in 2023 by greeting Thai fans with a five-minute speech in fluent Thai. Her choice to resurface overseas is seen as a strategy to soften domestic backlash before Speed and Love airs in China.
