Historic Leading Actor Wins
Son Ye Jin bagged the leading actress award for No Other Choice, while husband Hyun Bin also nabbed Best Actor for the raved-about historic epic Harbin, with the two sharing an emotional embrace after their historic wins. On her winning film, the actress wrote, “This was a film I made after a long break, and also my first comeback film after marriage, so I worried about many aspects. Because I worked with seasoned veterans, director Park Chan-wook and Li Byung Hun, I felt that I could follow in their lead. After filming was completed, I was once again overwhelmed with gratefulness for having director Park Chan-wook in our world of Korean cinema!
On her co-stars Li Byung Hyun, Lee Sung Min, Yeom Hye-ran and Park Hee Soon, she enthused, “Each of them internalized their roles very well, and made me fall with love with and respect each of them very much, whether it is in terms of their acting performance or on a personal level. Because I was the youngest on set, I was really pampered,”
Sharing photos taken at the awards ceremony in the trendy Korean “four cuts” style, Son Ye Jin dazzled in a white shimmery halter mermaid gown, while Hyun Bin cut a dashing figure in classic black tuxedo with bowtie and slick hairdo. The two posed playfully yet lovingly against the awards backdrop, oozing admirable couple vibes, that remind us of how their career wins are all the more sweeter, backed by their unconditional love and support for one another!
