Kris Wu Fined 600 Million Yuan for Tax Evasion

Kris Wu is facing another legal blow after being sentenced to 13 years in prison for sex crimes. The disgraced star is now ordered to pay 600 million yuan for tax evasion and concealing his income.

Speaking to the media, a representative from the Beijing Municipal Taxation Bureau criticized Kris’ elaborate tax evasion scheme. The representative revealed that Kris had stayed in China for more than 183 days in 2019 and 2020 and according to local regulations, Kris was required to pay tax on income received inside and outside China.

Through investigation, Kris was found to have evaded tax in 2019 and 2020 by making false declarations on the nature of his business and concealed his personal income through various affiliated enterprises inside and outside of the country.

Sharing details of Kris’ tax evasion schemes, the representative revealed that when Kris was working in China, he used his Canadian citizenship and star power to request the creation of a domestic or foreign enterprise which would be used to pay an overseas enterprise account for his appearance fee. This method was used to conceal his income in China and make false income declaration.

The representative added that when compared to other tax evasion cases, Kris’ method was more deliberate and seriously endangered China’s tax sovereignty.

In accordance with the law, Kris was ordered to pay four times the fines for falsifying his income through fictitious businesses. Due to the severity of the circumstances, Kris was also heavily fined for concealing his income and was ordered to pay five times the fine.

  1. Still fined too little!! He will still be a rich guy in Canada as he has transfer lots of his money away from China…

  2. Not sure why he will be deported from China after his release considering he is also a citizen of China, unless China really does not want him anymore in the country. But it would be better he starts a new life in Canada or somewhere else instead of China

    1. He never gave up his Canada citizenship to take up China citizenship. He is a Canadian. Thus China cannot access his Money in Canada
