Last year, Ruco Chan (陳展鵬 ) won the “Sexiest Man Alive in Hong Kong Award” by a landslide due to his breakout role in The Other Truth <真相>. Not only is Ruco handsome and hot, his personality and perseverance also added big bonus points.
To increase the excitement of the poll this year, male celebrities from Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan have been included. With a total of 92 nominees, you will be certain to find a sexy man to support everyday!
Voting Rules
- Press “VOTE” button next to the name of the male celebrity of your choice. You will receive a confirmation message on the screen indicating your vote has been tabulated.
- Each person can place ONE vote per 24 hours.
- You can vote everyday for a different candidate.
- The poll will end on Monday, October 8, 2012. All votes placed before the deadline will be tabulated. The winner and complete voting results will be announced then.
Through past polls implemented at JayneStars.com, we realized that the display of live voting results affected voter psychology, resulting in a greater voting bias. JayneStars.com’s 7-member Nomination Committee (consisting of our news writers and Advisory Committee members) drafted a preliminary list of male celebrities for the “2012 Sexiest Man Alive in China Award.” Only the male celebrities that were approved by at least 4 of our Nomination Committee members were included in the final poll, ensuring the hottest high-quality men!

I think Critics – as well as many other people – always misunderstand that being gay=being feminine. And because of our conservative society, being feminine=being not hot and sexy. And because of this, being not hot and sexy=being gay. These three things always go hand in hand in our society.
Maybe Critics hasn’t seen a hot and sexy gay guy before. Neal(Matt Bomer) from White Collar and Barney(Neil Patrick Harris) from How I Met Your Mother are in fact very hot and sexy, especially Matt Bomer as I think he is one of the top handsome men in Hollywood! Not sure about Asian celebrities, though.

Yes, I know some of them from the list are gay, but what’s wrong with that? This award is NOT only for straight men, but men in general – gay, straight, bisexual. Why you said they do not belong to this list? Because they like men? Hey, bisexual men like both men and women, so they should be half-removed from the list? Don’t forget the fact that some of them from the list might be bi too. After all, 10% are gay, les and bi, so stop being a homophobia.

By the way, I forgot to mention one thing to you, Critics. That is your homophobic action is similar to what westerners did to Asian men (and sometimes, Asian women as well). I’m a straight girl, and I assume you’re a girl too? The way you want to remove gay men from the list has no difference from the way westerners want to remove Asian beauty (especially Asian men) from being recognized.
I would believe he’s a male. Men tend to be more homophobic than women.

I think Critics is female from the way she wrote the comment. After all, this vote is mostly from female to choose the sexiest man, so maybe ‘she’ thinks gay men don’t deserve the title.
This is difficult to do because any unmarried man is suspected to be gay and every married man is also suspected to be gay so in the end this list is empty.
If Critics wants Jayne to remove those people that are suspected to be gay, then 3/4 from the list have to be removed!

Anyway, unless they admit themselves, it’s hard to know who is gay or bi because gay, straight and bi men all are same. I believe some of them from the list are gay and bi, but who knows who is? And why you want to remove them from the list?

dd, you are right. Because most photoshoot emulates what is IN for the time being and so happens they all look like that. Also some surgery may be involved. But I do agree some do look quite alike.
i think the new generation chinese guys are in general not so handsome or sexy, they look too chinese or childish or feminine. i like the older generation like andy lau,michael miu,simon yam but there are exceptions such as takeshi kaneshiro,louis ko.if i have to give my vote, then i will give it to leslie cheung,the most sexy chinese guy that i have ever seen.

And you know what? Critics said that Leslie Cheung should be removed from the list because he is gay. Hence, you couldn’t vote him even if he were alive.

And what is wrong for looking too chinese when one is chinese? More than Hu Ge is fans words are to be believed but lesser than HXM who is indeed more exposure and more of a movies’ man. Wallace (Huo) doesn’t do movies a lot but if you know Chinese mainland series, you know him. Personally I feel Nicky Wu is more famous than them all as in exposure but yes HXM was even invited to sing at the Olympics so no fight here about exposure.
