8 Korean Actors Who Will Join Military Soon

With South Korea’s mandatory 2-year military enlistment, many actors delay their service until they are in their late 20s. Fans will need to mentally prepare themselves as these eight beloved actors born in 1994 will enter the military soon.

Kang Tae Oh

Currently starring in popular series Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Tae Oh is finally gaining recognition for his visuals and acting skills. Transitioning from idol to actor, Tae Oh had a tough time working his way into the spotlight. Despite the popularity surge, Tae Oh will unfortunately need to put his career on hold when he joins the military.

Nam Joo Hyuk

This year marked a huge breakthrough for Nam Joo Hyuk in Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Although he won praises for improvement in acting, allegations followed that the actor was a bully in high school. His agency managed to quell the rumors, and Joo Hyuk HAis confirmed to star in psychological crime thriller Vigilante before entering the military.

Song Kang

Netflix made Song Kang an international star, after he starred in meteorological romance Forecasting Love and Weather. While news confirmed he will be returning for Sweet Home seasons two and three, it is possible these may be his last projects before military service.

Park Jin Young

GOT7 member Jin Young has been impressing viewers with his maturing acting skills. His performances in He Is Psychometric (2019), The Devil Judge (2021), and  most recently in Yumi’s Cells 2 highlight his significant growth, but he will have to put a halt to his momentum when he enters the military.

Kim Min Gue

Breaking out through A Business Proposal, Min Gue charmed viewers with his charisma and looks. After years of working under the radar, he finally is gaining more significant opportunities and was cast in The High Priest Rembrary, so it is a pity to see him going on a hiatus.

Na In Woo

Stirring hearts and rousing laughter with his performance in Jinxed At First and goofy personality in variety show 2 Days & 1 Night, In Woo is deemed a rising star. Upon hearing news he may enlist soon, some fans expressed, “Please don’t go!” while others were amused as they did not realize he was “so young.”

Kim Woo Seok

Dubbed as the most adaptable star with immense potential, Woo Seok showcased his versatility through two drastically different performances in Rookie Cops and The Military Prosecutor Doberman. Impressing with his ability to portray a righteous cop role in the former and a villainous elite in the latter, Woo Seok is among the Korean actors whom many are reluctant to let go.

Kang Seung Yoon

Expanding his talents into acting, Winner group leader Seung Yoon won recognition for his performance in Voice season four. His growing potential will make fans miss him on the screens.
