Bai Jingting (白敬亭) is on a roll this year as three of his projects, including the smash hit You Are My Hero <你是我的城池营垒>, have already aired and he also dropped his latest single “Zero” <不加糖>. With his popularity now at an all-time high, the 27-year-old actor has already started filming suspense drama Reset <开端> alongside Zhao Jinmai (赵今麦), Dong Zijian (董子健), Liu Tao (刘涛), and Huang Jue (黄觉).
Reset is adapted from a novel with the same name written by Qi Dao Jun (祈祷君). Game designer Xiao Heyun (Bai Jingting) and college student Li Shiqing (Zhao Jinmai) are stuck in a time loop after dying in a bus explosion, but are resurrected to relive the same events over again. Determined to escape this continuous cycle and change their fates, they partner together to find out the truth behind these strange occurrences and ensure the bus reaches its destination safely.
Attending the filming ceremony in Xiamen, the cast and production team showed their team spirit by wearing their Reset t-shirts. This is Jingting’s first suspense drama, and it will be interesting to see his sparks with Jinmai, who is nine years younger. However, as a child star, she has earned considerable recognition over the years for her performances in Growing Pain <少年派> and A Little Thing Called First Love <初恋那件小事>.
Reset is produced by Daylight Entertainment, which is known for their attention to details and high quality dramas. Their past works include When A Snail Falls In Love <如果蜗牛有爱情> and Nirvana in Fire <琅琊榜>. Moreover, director Sun Molong (孙墨龙) instills confidence with his works Candle In The Tomb <鬼吹灯之精绝古城> and Minning Town <山海情>.
