[Beauty] Fan Bingbing Shares Skincare Routine Secrets
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing (范冰冰) is well known for her love of facial masks and even launched her own beauty brand focusing on facial masks. Sharing her passion, Bingbing recently shared her skincare routine and offered tips on using facial masks on her social media page.
The 37-year-old actress admitted that she has been using facial mask daily in the morning and night for over 20 years. Combined with using masks 20 minutes before applying her makeup, Bingbing saw improvement in her skin’s texture and shared that her makeup routine became easier.
According to Bingbing, there are different application times for different types of masks. While the application time depends on how much the skin can absorb, Bingbing would usually wear her masks for 20 minutes. If a mask has a small amount of essence, Bingbing recommends not to wear the mask too long to avoid the mask paper from absorbing the skin’s moisture.
For cleansing masks, Bingbing recommends only applying the masks for 10 minutes before rinsing. While Bingbing also believes that sleeping masks have good “sealing effect” and can help with the absorption of skincare products, she cautions those with oily skin or acne as it could worsen their skin condition.
Debate on Rinsing
As many people asked they should rinse their face following a facial mask treatment, Bingbing gave her own opinion. Bingbing is only concerned if the essence is absorbed. For those with oily skin, Bingbing suggested to use a cotton ball or toner to get rid of the excess essence and continue to the next skincare step. If the mask is causing irritation or redness, it is recommended to wash off the mask fluid immediately and to only follow basic skincare routine until the cause of the irritation is identified.
While many netizens are grateful for Bingbing’s skincare tips, many are skeptical about the excessive routine. As many people have different skin types, it would be best to adjust the routine based on personal needs.
