Former Category III Actress Law Kwai Ying’s Sexual Assault Complaints Ignored

Former actress Law Kwai Ying (桂英曾), who had starred in Sex and Zen <玉蒲團> and other Hong Kong category III films in the 1990s, claimed that she was drug raped at a motel in Taiwan last year. But her cries for help were ignored by the motel front desk, and her complaints were dismissed by the police. Feeling helpless, Kwai Ying spilled her story to the media and felt that she was discriminated against because of her profession.

Entering the industry when she was 21 years old, Kwai Ying starred in numerous category III films in her six-year acting career but her onscreen time was limited. She decided to leave the industry because of the negative image and gossip associated with being a category III actress, as well as take care of her 93-year-old father in Taiwan after her mother passed away.

To survive, Kwai Ying took on different jobs over the years as an insurance broker, real estate agent, and even sold grilled corn at a night food market. When business slowed down at the food stall, she worked as a karaoke public relations staff where she had to sing and drink with customers.

Drugged and Sexually Assaulted

In February 2018, a 35-year-old male customer with the surname of Yang took the 52-year-old former actress out to dinner on the premise of discussing business matters. He drugged her beer and took her to a motel, where Kwai Ying was sexually assaulted for four hours. Afraid that Yang would resort to physical violence, Kwai Ying accompanied him outside the motel together, and only returned later to the front desk by herself to ask for help. But the motel seemed to dismiss the urgency of the situation and responded with, “You can’t use your own cell phone to report the case?”

Kwai Ying’s blood test results showed the presence of a stimulant drug, but not any date-rape drugs. The police ignored Kwai Ying’s cries of sexual assault, claiming that she “could walk fine”. The case was finally dropped last month due to lack of evidence.

Disappointed by the outcome, Kwai Ying turned to the press. She didn’t mind revealing her identity to bring forth the injustice of the situation. She felt that women in similar professions as herself were often judged and not taken seriously for their assault claims. She said that Yang took advantage of her profession, as many would just see the incident as a “sexual transaction dispute”.

Most likely she got drugged and raped but because of her former profession, which gave her a negative image indeed. Most people would ignore her cry for help. To be honest, she probably used to sleeping with different strangers all the time so perhaps, IMO the the guy didn’t pay her off so she got piss and want to get him in trouble. Nevertheless,I hope she learns her lesson this time and watch her drinks at the bar or when she goes out with strangers. She was definitely not a smart woman and it shows by her actions.

It reminds me of Bill Cosby who had drugged and raped probably over hundreds of women and got away with it for many years. The last one he raped was his biggest mistake, she was a lesbian and that’s how he got caught. The lesbian he drugged and raped was in a relationship with another woman. She reported the raped right away and didn’t wait years later like most women.

Another case was this half japanese half white cop in Minnesota, his name was Daniel Holtzclaw. Below is a link to read about this sick individual who raped mostly black prostitutes or/and with criminal records.

      https://www.cnn.com/2016/01/21/us/oklahoma-city-officer-daniel-holtzclaw-rape-sentencing/index.html

The only reason he got caught was that he raped one black grandmother with a clean record and no criminal history whatsoever, and she reported the raped about that cop at the police station right away. That was his biggest mistake who picked a grandmother who is a law abiding citizen.

It seems there have been quite of few cops across the country in the US who either raped or sexually assaulted women who had criminal records especially if they are prostitutes or drug users.

@mihk1994 Although I agree that she needs to be careful and be more protective of herself but the way you’ve written the comment seems like you are making this her own fault. Your comment is deeply upsetting me. The lesson should not be to look after her drinks, the lesson should be that people need to stop spiking other’s drinks and raping them.

Some one can be an absolute s**t and sleep with 99 people but if she says no to the 100th person and they still forced themselves upon him/her, that is sexual assault.
They could be stripped naked and arousing the other but if they says no then no one is allowed to touch her.

I am actually proud that she stepped up to question the authorities and the way they work. She seems like someone who knows her rights.

Also, Cosby and Holtzclaw’s mistake was being a rapist.

@mihk1994 ugh, h*ll no, Cosby’s mistake isn’t bc he “raped a lesbian.” His mistake is that HE RAPED WOMEN, period. You make it sounds like anyone can commit any crime and it’s okay/acceptable as long as they pick the right victim and do it smartly.

Being a porn star isn’t a crime; it’s a profession. You shouldn’t be judge or being discriminate against when you’re a victim of a crime. It’s like saying bc you’re a stripper, so you have to strip in middle of WalMart if someone waves a dollar bill at you.

Don’t blame the victim! She got drugged and raped bc THAT b*stard is a low life, creepy, perverr loser.

“To be honest, she probably used to sleeping with different strangers all the time so perhaps, IMO the the guy didn’t pay her off so she got piss and want to get him in trouble.” -Judgemental much? So is it okay for me to say based on this one single comment you posted that you are probably a serial rapist who is really smart in picking out the right girls so you haven’t been caught at all?

Agree that rape is rape no matter what. When a postitute says no, it is still rape.

The article title kind of suggest everyone ignored her but she had a blood test performed and it seems that there was a lack of evidence of her claim especially due to her leave the motel with the guy and only coming back later. If an assault has a happened, she needs to report it immediately to get as much evidence as possible. Police can only act with enough evidence.

Are you posting this to rile people up?

So what if she slept with strangers?? She can sleep with as many people she wants as long as it’s consensual. Who are any of us to judge her or anyone else for that matter?? Bottom line: rape is rape. Doesn’t matter if you’re the freaking virgin Mary or slept your way through town.

“Learn her lesson”?? So you think being raped is an educational tool?? If you were run over by a car crossing the street illegally and became crippled, can I say that “you’ve learnt your lesson”?

Her profession should not dictate how she should be treated nor does it imply what type of person she is. Just because she’s been on a cat3 film doesn’t mean its accrptable that she’s raped. If that’s the case what should we say about the bevy of people who’ve watched her movies? Does that make them perverts? Rapists? So are all people who watch porn would be rapists??

We all have our rights to comment and beliefs but come on!! It’s because of judgemental comments like yours that scare women (and men) into not reporting sex crimes.

She needed all the evidence she can get really after the assault. Cry for help as soon as she is out on the street rather than have meal together with him and return to the place.

@mike It didn’t say they had a meal together actually. Not sure what happened when she went out the motel with him.

Very disappointed in the lack of support received for sexual assault victim.
