Linda Chung Leaves Hong Kong With Son

After attending the 2021 TVB Anniversary Awards, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) left Hong Kong last week to return to her family in Vancouver.

At the end of November, Linda brought her 3-year-old son Jared back to Hong Kong with her to handle some personal matters. Some speculated that her ambitions were set on the TVB Best Actress award, given the timing of her return during the Anniversary Awards season despite the troublesome quarantine requirements.

Despite her memorable performance as Dr. Eman in Kids’ Lives Matter <星空下的仁醫>, Linda was unable to clinch the coveted award, and instead won the consolation prize of Malaysia’s Favorite TVB Actress. Many fans felt that Linda deserved a win, since she has been nominated for Best Actress 11 times.

Visibly disappointed in her acceptance speech, Linda stated she is uncertain when she would be able to film for TVB again. “I am nervous, but I am also very calm in facing situations. I know that there won’t be much of a chance to attend another ceremony, because I probably won’t be returning to the studio so I really want to enjoy the moment,” Linda said afterward.

With two young children in Vancouver, Linda thinks it will be at least one year she visit Hong Kong again. As many of her dedicated fans have followed her since the start of her career 18 years ago, they hope to see Linda again soon. “There will be an opportunity, trust me. I still think there is always a chance,” the actress responded.

Catching Up With Old Friends in Hong Kong

During her two-month stay in Hong Kong, Linda’s schedule was packed with meet ups with her close friends and colleagues. She posted many photos of her gatherings with Frankie Lam (林文龍) and Kenix Kwok (郭可盈); Paul Chun (秦沛) and his daughter Leslie Chiang (姜麗文); Leanne Li (李亞男) and Grace Wong (王君馨); and Damian Lau (劉松仁).

Since her son accompanied her on the trip, Linda took Jared to Hong Kong’s Disneyland during the trip. She intended to stay for a short period of time, but given the fifth wave of the pandemic, her flight back to Vancouver was delayed until January 19.

On January 20, Linda posted a photo with her son at Hong Kong International Airport to bid her friends and fans goodbye. Many fans immediately messaged the actress to return soon to film more dramas.
