Momoland’s Nancy Distressed Over Undressing Photos Leaked Online

Last December, Nancy from the South Korean girl group, Momoland, gained recognition for her beauty after snagging the 10th spot on TC Candler’s “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2020.” However, not even a month later, she fell victim to molka, which means spycams in Korean. Someone illegally took pictures of the starlet undressing, doctored the photos, and circulated them online, bringing Nancy severe emotional and mental distress.

The issue of molka has been rampant in South Korean society over the years, as hidden cameras are everywhere, including hotel rooms and public restrooms. While legal measures are in place, it continues to be a festering problem, as seen in Nancy’s case, where a staff member leaked photoshopped pictures of her changing backstage. Not only did the photos circulate across social media, but a netizen who possessed an uncensored version offered to sell the images for 10 United States dollars.

As the situation worsened, Nancy’s management MLD Entertainment released a statement on January 11 addressing the issue. They announced that they would take legal actions against the perpetrator and those involved in sharing the photos to ensure their artist is foremost protected.

In light of the situation, Nancy’s fans are sending her love and urging those involved to stop circulating the photos. Meanwhile, curious netizens traced the photos’ origins to the backstage of the 2019 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) in Vietnam, for which Nancy took on hosting duties.

In response to the new information, the official representative of the AAA Organizing Committee apologized to Nancy. They expressed their deep regret for such an indecent incident taking place on their grounds. Moreover, they promised to cooperate with Nancy’s management and authorities in Vietnam and South Korea to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
