New Book to TV Adaptation to Star THE9’s Esther Yu and Dylan Wang

Cang Lan Jue <苍兰诀>, based on the book of the same name, has finalized its lead cast. 

Dylan Wang (王鹤棣), best known for his leading performance in China’s adaptation of Meteor Garden <流星花园>, will lead the series alongside Esther Yu (虞书欣) of THE9 fame.

Cang Lan Jue is written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang <九鹭非香> and follows the love story between a goddess and a demon king. After having her entire tribe wiped out by the demon king, the goddess is reborn 10,000 years later and demoted to a lower goddess. She accidentally revives and frees a demon who was responsible for her tribe’s genocide 10,000 years ago.

Cang Lan Jue is produced by iQIYI and directed by Yi Zheng (伊峥).

It is set to premiere in 2022.
