Rain Li’s  Long Distance Marriage with Eric Huang

On Valentine’s Day this year, Rain Li (李彩華) suddenly announced her marriage to Chinese businessman Eric Huang. Recently, Rain was spotted attending an event, where she revealed that her husband is currently in Mainland China for work. Coupled with her busy work schedule, the couple has not seen each other for several days.

The popular Qixi Festival, a Chinese festival celebrating the annual meeting of the cowherd and weaver girl in mythology, fell on August 7 this year. Popularly known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, many couples would often celebrate with their spouses. Despite being separated due to work, the couple made a great effort to spend it with each other nonetheless.

Rain shared, “On that day, I flew to Shenyang to join him for a meal. I received flowers. I don’t see my husband every day, but I feel that it is better this way. If we saw each other every day, our feelings for each other wouldn’t be as intense!” When asked what the longest duration the couple went without seeing each other, Rain said, “Nearly two months! We use video calling, but when we see each other again, it feels a little unfamiliar.”

Will Eric suddenly show up and surprise her?  Rain responded, “Probably not. He doesn’t even know the exact address of where I’m at. Besides, he will be a bit shy too.”

With the couple be separated so often, is Rain worried about Eric having an extramarital affair? Rain shrugged and said, “You can’t prevent it regardless. If he wants to cheat, he will find a way to do it. Even if I watch his every move every day, he will still find a way to do it if he wanted to. Thinking about it and worrying about it every day will make me worried even more. It’s very stressful like that. It will also make our relationship worse.”

The newlyweds currently have no plans for starting a family yet, as Rain wants to complete all the projects on hand first.
