Talk Show “Young and Restless” Ends its Run

Long-running TVB talk show Young and Restless <#後生仔傾吓偈> will be wrapping up after over 800 episodes! With its youthful hosts enjoying increased popularity from the show’s ratings, it has been getting harder for their schedules to meet, and the producers decided to wrap up the program now.

On September 3, 26 of the show’s hosts met up in the studio for the final day of filming with the theme being graduation. Amid the exhilarating atmosphere, TVB Deputy General Manager (Non-drama, Music Production & Program) Eric Tsang (曾志偉) also turned up to show support and thank the production and crew for their efforts over the last four years!

Thanks to increased exposure on the youth-themed program, many of the hosts have received more filming and hosting opportunities. Danny Hung (孔德賢) and Kayan Yau (游嘉欣) have their filming schedules lined up, while Krysella Wong (黃婧靈) and Bonnie Lui (呂靜文) have been busy with variety shows.

Time to Spill Secrets
It was a time for letting out well-kept secrets as the hosts, and even crew members spilled mutual secrets about each other, now that the show was finally wrapping up after four years. Among the pioneer batch of hosts, Luk Ho Ming (陸浩明) and Crystal Fung (馮盈盈) were revealed to have “frequent interactions” as the two often met up for filming together. Adding to the scandalous factor was Joey Thye (戴祖儀), who added that “As long as Ho Ming reported for work himself, he’d not be late that day!”

Crystal and Louisa Mak (麥明詩) were the first hosts to helm the show.

Another host Leonard Cheng (鄭衍峰) also spilled that Ho Ming and Crystal had been seriously drunk during an overseas filming episode and caused many jokes as a result, which even affected the production crew. As for Bella Lam (林穎彤), the production crew shared that she often could not help her expression of wanting to “knock off from work!”

Crystal Teases New Plans

When it came to time to part, everyone was emotional, and Ho Ming said he had long treated his co-hosts as siblings. He said, “Every Friday was studio time without fail–the relationship the cast and crew shared was way beyond work, and it was gathering of old friends once a week. I’m also really reluctant to part with our viewers and supporters, thanks everyone for their love and support all along.”

He also shared that he would be busy with filming for a new charity program and TVB’s festive mid-autumn show, while Crystal, who has just wrapped up guest-appearing on a miniseries, revealed she was working on a “mysterious new plan” and enthused, “everyone, please look forward!”
