Zheng Shuang Asked To Pay Financial Reparations to Film Company

Since her surrogacy and tax evasion scandals two years ago, Zheng Shuang (鄭爽) is still blacklisted by the Chinese broadcasting authorities. With her dramas removed from streaming platforms, angry investors suffered large financial losses and are seeking compensation from the actress.

In the beginning of 2016, Zheng Shuang’s studio signed a contract with a Haining-based entertainment company. Zheng Shuang and her studio were tasked to provide project implementation, content, brand planning, and artist selection for any films and dramas produced by this investment company. In turn, the company was required to pay Zheng Shuang 30.5 million Chinese yuan as remuneration. The contract stipulated that any party who violates the terms will be liable for breach of contract.

Once Zheng Shuang became blacklisted, the entertainment company sought legal recourse. On September 26 after a lengthy battle, the Shanghai Songjiang District People’s Court ruled that Zheng Shuang must compensate the entertainment company CNY30.5 million yuan plus interest. As the contract spanned seven years, the total contested amount totaled CNY60 million.

More debtors are lining up to collect payments from the actress. Zheng Shuang has yet to pay an outstanding amount of CNY15.72 million yuan due to a service contract dispute with Horgos Shanghui Film and Television Culture Media Co., Ltd.

  1. She is one who runs away from problems.. She lives in her own world. It will surprise me if she did make all the repayments. She likely never expected her blacklist to last forever…

  2. I hope her ex has some way to financially support their kids. At this rate, ZS is going to bankrupt (or already bankrupt.)
