Raymond Lam Injures Himself in Bed
Raymond Lam (林峯) was supposed to attend the Shanghai TV Festival yesterday to promote TVB’s upcoming television dramas, but after aggravating an old back injury the day before, he had no choice but to cancel his appearance last minute. The sudden cancellation upset many of Raymond’s fans, who had lined up hours before the event to get a good glimpse of the star. Nonetheless, fans understood his situation and expressed concerns for his health. Some fans were also not left disappointed, as Raymond’s TVB colleagues Michael Miu (苗僑偉),Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), and Ben Wong (黃智賢) helped out with the promotions.
According to reports, Raymond aggravated his old back injury while trying to get up from bed. The pain was so severe that Raymond had to cancel his flight to Shanghai that morning. He was immediately sent to the hospital.
Raymond’s manager, Candy, said, “He just saw the doctor. At the moment, he needs a lot of rest, but it is not so severe to the point where he needs to be hospitalized.”
Unfortunately, Raymond is no stranger to injuries. Over the years, Raymond has sustained enough injuries to be a VIP member of the hospital. From spinal disc herniation to torn skin, Raymond has had more surgeries than he can count.
When he was filming My Sister of Eternal Flower <花花世界花家姐> in 2010, a spinal disc in his neck was torn out of place, and he had to take an extended rest. While filming the 2013 film Saving General Yang <忠烈楊家將>, he tore the skin on his buttocks due to extensive horse-riding. He also injured his left hand from mishandling film props. In 2011, while holding his concert, Raymond hurt his right hand from glass shards and it bled uncontrollably.
Karena Said Raymond’s Injury is Severe
Raymond’s girlfriend, Karena Ng (吳千語), revealed that Raymond is under severe pain right now. Karena dodged innuendos that she was indirectly responsible for Raymond’s alleged injury in bed. She explained that Raymond has been exercising intensively and may have ignited an old back injury from the improper poses. Karena said, “He can’t walk now and needs to rest. I can only take him to see the doctor; afterward, I still have to work. He has to rest more, take his medicine, and sleep. He will have to do physical therapy later. The doctor advised him against getting back massages.”
