Sheren Tang to Sacrifice Filming “War and Beauty 2” for “Rosy Business 3”?

TVB’s two big trump card dramas, War and Beauty <金枝慾孽> and Rosy Business <巾幗梟雄> not only brought TVB’s ratings skyrocketing through the roof but also won several awards and launched the careers of several fadans and actors back then. Both dramas were renowned for their titles and the benefits they brought to their cast.

Producer Jonathan Chik (戚其義) and Lee Tim Sing (李添勝) have invariably decided to start filming continuing installments for War and Beauty and Rosy Business respectively. As these two series rocketed their previous cast to fame, many fadans and actors fought to stand out, hoping to snatch a role in them.

As for these two dramas, Sheren Tang (who must make a good decision and choose one over the other) was currently busy filming  dramas in mainland and diligently “digging gold” there. Furthermore, Sheren’s role as Concubine Yu Fei in War and Beauty was extremely likable among the audience and had received rave reviews for her performance. However, Sheren still failed to clinch the Best Actress award at that year’s TVB Anniversary Awards ceremony, which left her feeling dispirited and thus still unhappy over it.  Allegedly, Sheren didn’t display a positive reaction towards re-joining the War and Beauty drama team to appear in the sequel. In contrast though, Sheren immediately signed up for the third installment of Rosy Business without a word since the first two series garned her TV Queen awards two consecutive years in a row.

Sheren Tang’s Yu Fei Is Indispensable

The 2004 TVB blockbuster hit, War and Beauty, was re-broadcasted during the midnight slot in Hong Kong. The average ratings were at 7 points (approximately 430,000 viewers tuned in). Its force was indeed extremely tyrannical! In recent days, TVB carried out plans to shoot a sequel to War and Beauty. Executive Producer Jonathan Chik declared that the original cast would return to act in the series. However, Gigi Lai (黎姿) was currently enjoying life as a socialite after getting married to wealthy businessman Ma Ting Keung (馬廷強) and had since retired from showbiz, more or less confirming that she will no’t be returning for the sequel.

As for Bowie Lam (林保怡), he didn’t renew his contract with TVB. Hence, the original cast of War and Beauty who have temporarily been confirmed for the sequel were Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Moses Chan (陳豪) and Maggie Cheung (張可頤). Even if new cast members such as  like Ada Choi (蔡少芬), Tavia Yeung (楊怡),  and Kate Tsui (徐子珊) were added, the most pressing issue at hand was whether Sheren Tang’s Yu Fei would re-join the War and Beauty cast.

Back then, Sheren’s performance as Concubine Yu Fei was highly raved by everyone hence the sequel couldn’t do without such a prominent character. However, it was no easy task for producer Jonathan Chik if he wanted Sheren back in his sequel. It was known that golden scriptwriter, Cheung Wah Biu (張華標), will return to TVB in October and had already been working on the script together with Tim Gor, thus confirming plans for Rosy Business 3. Although Rosy Business 3 will only be starting filming next April, War and Beauty 2 will start filming early next year. The production time for both series was closely knitted together, thus the chance of Sheren accepting both dramas was slim.

Sheren Tang Already Had a Consensus With Tim Gor

Back in 2004, despite her role as Yu Fei in War and Beauty receiving high praise from everyone, Sheren Tang only won a subtle “Best Supporting Actress” pork award. This allegedly left her with grudges even until today. On the other hand, the first and second installment of Rosy Business made Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Sheren Tang TV King and Queen respectively and for two consecutive years in a row. Wayne also experienced a dramatic career revival through Rosy Business, which enabled him to bring along his wife for shooting of advertisements.

Last year, Sheren accepted filming for mainland drama, New My Fair Princess<新還珠格格> for a shooting fee of $4 million Yuan. In recent days, apart from rushing to promote New My Fair Princess in mainland, due to her rising popularity, Sheren was also busy filming another mainland drama, City of Falling Snow <傾城說>for a filming fee of $50,000 RMB per episode.

An insider revealed, “Actually, both Ah Chik (Jonathan Chik) and Tim Gor contacted Sheren but she said she had to assess the situation first. In fact, Sheren had previously reached a consensus with Tim Gor. Although filming in TVB would mean a low pay but Rosy Business brought Sheren the TV Queen award for two consecutive years.  Hence, Sheren had already privately told Tim Gor that she would definitely help him.

“As for War and Beauty, Sheren might not act in it again because firstly, taking time off her mainland filming is tough and secondly, Sheren herself said that this drama ddid not “bring luck” (老黎) to her. We also truly understand that in actual fact, Sheren really minds about not being awarded the Best Actress Award at that time.”

Two Trump-Card Productions

In the last few years, TVB’s two blockbuster dramas, War and Beauty and Rosy Business raked in remarkable ratings and was highly acclaimed in Asia. Those who had participated in the dramas experienced a massive surge in their popularity and even swept away all the TVB awards. This made Poducers Jonathan Chik and Tim Gor known as the generals that brought prosperity to their cast.

It was known that Tavia’s turn as a villain in Beyond the Realm of Conscience <宮心計>was exceptionally good, thus catching the eye of Jonathan. As a result, Tavia was arranged to act in a heavy-weight role for War and Beauty 2.

To repay her gratitude to Tim Gor, it was known that Sheren had already agreed to take time off filming in mainland to accept filming for Rosy Business 3.

Ah K: Although I’m a Kate fan, I really question whether Kate is truly the best choice for a large-scale grand production like “War and Beauty” but I guess she could pit her seductive acting skills to the maximum use for scenes of seducing the emperor and gaining his favor.

Not to be rude to Tavia’s fans out there, I love Tavia’s past dramas but is Tavia’s performance really that exceptional in “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” that she could catch the eye of the producer of “War and Beauty”? I felt her acting in there was, in fact, a little too overrated and exaggerative, with the fierce scheming eyes and sly smile.

Well, I guess beggars can’t be choosers, especially since with most of their former veteran front line actresses retiring or going to the Mainland to earn the renminbi, TVB doesn’t have much of a choice but to thrust the current Fadans and at the same time heavily promote them in it. It remains to be seen whether it is a recipe for disaster or a recipe for the better. But with veteran actresses like Charmaine Sheh and Ada Choi in the cast, hopefully it will be more of the latter.

The most perplexing issue here is also whether Sheren Tang’s Concubine Ru (Ru-fei) would be returning for the sequel to “War and Beauty”. Although chances are slim, I still hope Sheren Tang would re-join the cast for the sequel! In my recollection, what made the series so appealing was also the intense rivalry between Sheren’s Concubine Ru and the Empress and how Sheren’s intelligence shone through, amidst her vulnerability behind closed doors. To put it simply, Sheren’s character was like the soul of the series thus I absolutely can’t imagine “War and Beauty” without Sheren (it’s like looking out at a bleak future for this drama), can you?

  1. LOL, they cast in order to put her into good use with plenty of sex scenes hahaha

      1. She might fit in a modern series where she’s required to have intimate scenes and where women have more freedom but this is an ancient series and a palace series

      2. LOL, she can be seducing tbe enuchs to get to the emperor 🙂

basically she will sleep her way to the top…

      3. If Kate and Tavia are the new concubine in the sequel, what will Charmaine and Ada be? a slightly older concubines whom already garned the love from the emperor?

Although I like most Charmaine and Ada’s series, I really don’t hope Charmaine and ADA would play any young concubine role as it would disgust me (no offense) with their actual age, they shouldn’t play any young concubine role with same level as Kate and Tavia.

      4. @Veejay: In BTROC, TY calls Charmaine “mui mui” (little sister) and I nobbled my head like crazy.

Ada said she hasn’t seen any invitation for this one. She dun wanna work in the beginning of the year, too. She is a mother now and she wanna spend more time with his new born kid.

      5. I mean nodded, not nobbled :P. I’m writing a case description so mistaken :D.

      6. @Fox,

haha, yeah T-V-B always make younger artist to play those older roles like auntie and uncle and give younger role to those really older artist which really make me “shook’ my head.

The funniest part is T-V-B often make those veteran female artist to play the grandma role when her age can actually play the “mother” role cum the wife of the grandma’s son. Which mean the age gap between the grandma and her son is only few years difference compare to many years.

      7. @Veejay,

The ‘mui mui’ in BTROC doesn’t refer to age, but seniority in concubine ranking. Kam Ling was a concubine before Sam Ho, therefore she is entitled to call Sam Ho, her junior.

      8. I didn’t shook head, I nodded. With the heavy makeup, Yiu Gam Ling looks so old. Sam Hou has lighter makeup make her look a lot younger.

      9. @Sehseh,

        thanks for the clarification.

        @Fox,

        GTG now, work is over~

      10. @Veejay: Have work on Saturday? Ouch. Poor you. Enjoy the weekend.

      11. @exoidus
“LOL, she can be seducing tbe enuchs to get to the emperor. basically she will sleep her way to the top”

Erm, just curious, how is that supposed to work?
Aren’t eunuchs already, you know, chop chop? 😛

      12. a mental seduction might be more powerful than a pure physical one. the eunuchs can help her frame the ohers willing to risk their life for her love.

      13. a mental seduction might be more powerful than a pure physical one. the eunuchs can help her frame the ohers willing to risk their life for her love.

        @ exoidus

Hmm true, I didn’t think of that. I guess that would be a bit like On Qian and Kenny’s character. He was a eunuch but he loved her and hence was willing to sacrifice his life to help her get her revenge on the Empress.

    1. Exoidus,
I wonder if Yu Yeung will reprise his role as the lecherous emperor, perhaps more frail now.

If Sheren will reject “War and Beauty 2,” it sounds as if Tavia or Ada will step in to propel the plot if there is an absent Sheren, which I believe to highly possible. I welcome Ada joining the cast, but I am uncertain about casting Kate, whom I feel fits better in modern series.

Aside from Moses, I wonder which other male artists will join the cast.

To be honest, I am a little tired of all the scheming-palace-ladies genre that have risen to popularity in last few years.

      1. Jayne

to be honest im a little tired of series revolving around the ching dynasty. why can’t make a series in the from the ancient period instead. song dynasty would do.

      2. Exoidus,
I don’t mind which dynasty the series is set in as long as there is a compelling story to draw upon. The historical backdrop should provide unique circumstances under which to set up interesting conflicts and struggles among the characters. However, the palace-ladies fighting for the emperor’s affections and power is truly overdone.

Actually, I do like Yang’s Saga as it is about courage, sacrifice, and honor. Give me anything other than jealous love and women backstabbing and endlessly arguing with each other!

      3. Jayne

i enjoy the battle among the princes to get to the throne.

yeah Yang Saga is great but there have been made many series about them already.

a series based solely of the live of soldiers in the battlefield would be great . the teachings as sun tzu can be applied, however i doubt tvb will make a grand production of this kind since it requires alot of investment capital with these klfs

      4. Exoidus,
Did you watch mainland series, “The Art of War” starring Kent Cheng Dai Si and Roger Kwok. I didn’t watch the entire series, but the glimpses I saw were interesting. Perhaps “The King Makers” with Kent and Wayne Lai will be interesting.

Sounds like you enjoy war strategies. 🙂

      5. no, i watch mostly tvb series since my mandarin is not that good. haven’t heard of it maybe i will check it out.

yeah i love series which involved using stratgies and/or battle of minds 🙂

      6. I love ancient series a lot so any dynasty would do, but I do agree with Exiodus that there have been a little too many Qing dynasty series lately. In CHina, there are already a lot so it would be more refreshing to see series from other dynasties as well. Also, I don’t think that War and Beauty’s plot was that great. I wonder what else is there for them to talk about??? I think that having a good plot is more important than having the original cast back. I personally don’t think that having a new cast is the biggest deal since it is good to give the newcomers a chance. Wouldn’t it be a bit boring to see the same old people over and over again???

      7. exactly my thoughts… they even brought this scheming thing into LOO… the scene where laughing was in hospital drinking red wine with pai co, to scheme around who gets to be the big boss… sigh…

      8. @Exiodus,
If you do enjoy the battle among the princes to get the throne, then you should watch mainland series “Gong” or “Bu Bu Jing Xin”(when it airs next month. Those are both about the battle of the princes trying the attain the throne. But they are both set in the Qing dynasty.
I highly recommend that you watch “The Art of War” with Roger and Kent as Jayne mentioned. I saw that but didn’t like the first part as much as the other parts. I think there are 2 or 3 parts. I saw them all and liked it overall. Max Mok was in the third part. You can always watch Cantonese dubbed if you can’t understand Mandarin. Or you can watch with Chinese subtitles.

      9. HTS

thanks for the info, however i feel the mainland productions are way to draggy. so i prefer movies and documentaries on the subject instead.

      10. @Exiodus,
I don’t feel that mainland series are all draggy. There are draggy series from every country/production, including TVB. It just varies and you should not stereotype mainland series as being draggy. I have seen many that are really good and are way better than TVB. But hey that’s just what I think. However, it is your choice….

      11. @exoidus,

I like the war strategy genre too, but with TVB’s current abilities, I have doubts that they can produce something of intelligence. Relic, Sentinel, Greatness of a Hero were all disappointments. I don’t have much confidence in the upcoming series with Wayne and Kent either.

  2. I loved Rosy Business and even more so with “No Regrets” as it was just perfect. I truly regretted not recording it and could have kicked myself. Hopefully it should repeat and be shown in the Premier Channel in future. With regards to War and Beauty I must say that I must be one of the very few people on earth who did NOT like it at all. It just didn’t thrill me at all and in fact I found some parts to be quite boring. If Sheren Tang is thinking of filming only one of them then I hope she chooses “Rosy Business 3” as she was absolutely brilliant in it. I loved that series, loved her character as “Gow Mui” and she really jelled with Wayne Lai. My only disappointment was that they never showed any real affection for each other – no kissing even and they never really said that they loved each other. I guess it was just up to the audience to take it for granted that they did. I hope Rosy Business 3 (no doubt will be a modern series set in modern times) will be just as good as the previous ones; if not better.

    1. If you like it so much, then why didn’t you just buy the DVD sets?? They aren’t that expensive. I personally didn’t like Rosy Business much at all but just watched it since everyone was raving over it.

I agree with you that War and Beauty was not great at all and I was so disappointed when I watched it. It was way overrated… But then I am usually one of the few that like what the majority doesn’t like and vice versa. I think that having a sequel for Rosy Business and War and Beauty is not the best idea. I guess TVB is really running out of ideas so they have to draw on what they already have in order to milk even more milk out of the cow since they can’t think of anything else to make money off of.

  3. Oh pleeeeease, I hope and pray that Kate Tsui will not be in it again.

      1. Just pray she wont be in it! Seriously they put Kate in almost all sequels! Its annoying! I’m just trying to think… are there any series starring Kate that have sequels?? I can’t think of any…

    1. I agree, I really think she will look really odd in the palace costumes..she may probably be one of those courtesans or those ‘dancers’ brought into the palace from some faraway place to seduce the emperor? hah

  4. Why dun make a series about the fighting of the eunuchs instead? I know one about Li Lin Ying is planned but it isn’t really focus on the eunuchs’ life. I watched a very touching movie about the eunuchs’ life and it’s fresh. TVB is never creative enough. Other than put their efforts on the sequel, prequel and milk the praised one to the last drop, why they can’t find something more fresh to do? If they are too lacking of ideas, they can find the fan fiction. A lot of good idea and storyline wait for them there. I know many fan fictions are childish and boring but there are some good ones. Something fresh and creative.

    1. There’s a series tvb’s doing now about Wayne and Kent fight to promote their respective prince to be King. That won’t do?

    2. Is the movie you’re talking about a Korean one? The King and I? It’s a drama about eunuchs in the palace during the Joseon dynasty.

It’s no wonder why more and more people are turning to Korean dramas. They dare to be creative and can make dramas out of almost anything. This is one aspect that TVB should learn from them.

      1. Not this one. This one is too fangirl and the BL factor isn’t touching at all. I talked about a Chinese old series, not a BL movie even it has some BL scenes.

Among all BL movies, I still think Happy together is the best.

  5. I think the script writers are running out of ideas and that is why there are lots of re-makes in films. I think I did not enjoy War and Beauty was because it was just about the palace and the gossips and scandals. Furthermore I have never been a fan of dramas set in that period. My favourite period is the 1930s and about gangsters. I only watched War and Beauty simply because I like Sheren Tang. If she wasn’t in it I would probably have given it a miss.

    1. Pineapple,
“I think the script writers are running out of ideas and that is why there are lots of re-makes in films.”

The filming of sequels gives TVB marketing a significant advantage. It is the same reason why Hollywood churns out sequel after sequel. There are already established fans from the early installments, which will have a guaranteed returning audience. Marketing wise, TVB can secure more advertising deals for sequels planned after successful series.

As for the lack of scriptwriting ideas, they can always adapt from novels.

      1. I agree with you Jayne but sadly a lot of times, the sequals are a downfall to the original movie/series. I think that they should adapt from the many novels that have not been remade for a long time or haven’t been adapted yet. They pretty much have done all of JY and can’t anymore so can’t remake those again. But Liang Yu Sheng, Huang Yi and Gu Long have plenty of novels that haven’t been adapted yet or haven’t been remade for a long time. I wonder why TVB won’t consider those?? Maybe they are afraid of the ridiculous changes that they will make which will cause a big fuss with the authors and fans of the novels???

      2. It’s kinda hard to adapt the novel of Huang Yi. A matter is the number of characters. In Huang Yi’s novel, normally we will see at least 3-4 main characters and 10-20 big supporting, no mention of about 50-100 smaller characters. The total number of characters in some novels go to few thousands, such as Da Tang or Fu Yu Fan Yun. TVB will cut off and change the storyline and it made the fans of the novel annoyed.

If you have read, you will know that in Da Tang, he wrote it like a war picture with thousands characters and TVB only used 1/10 of them. Fu Yu Fan Yun is even worse.

As for Liang Yu Sheng, his famous stuff is all adapted by TVB in the past.

Gu Long’s novels are actually hard to adapt.

Jin Yong wrote his novels in very dramatic way, so it’s easiest to make adaption.

Recently, only Wen Rui On has novels to be adapted (ie. Boyee and Sidamingbu).

I wonder why TVB dun choose new authors to adapt? Only the 搜神记 is adapted but the series is so hopeless.

      3. One more point: Huang Yi’s novel often aren’t ancient wuxia (not in the ancient time). It’s scientist-based.

      4. I know that Huang Yi’s novels are hard to adapt, but TVB has already done some so why not do some more?? Gu Long’s novels are hard to adapt but they have done it before too so they can do it again. China has done some that are not that too bad depending on which one. Boy the Xiao Shi Yi Lang adaption was horrible…

TVB constantly remakes a lot so why not do Liang Yu Sheng’s works again?? They are also famous for changing and writing their own story anyways… I bet they will have to resort to those novels when they really run out of ideas which it seems like they are already. If not, then they will not keep on going back to what they have and trying to make sequel after sequel as we can see…

      5. I agree that JY novels are the easiest to adapt because they have a clean beginning and ending and their length is just right for adaptations. Plus, JY’s description is quite detail.

As for Gu Long, it’s harder to adapt than JY’s novels, but, still adaptable. There are several adaptations that successfully capture the feel and tone of the novel and stayed pretty faithful to them. Gu Long’s novels are also short and suitable for series length.

I find Huang Yi’s and Wen Rui An’s novels hard to adapt because HY’s popular novels are really long. WRA’s novels, on the other hand, are interlink and span many many books and he took forever to finish a series. Has he even finish publishing ‘Young Mou Ching’ yet?

      6. @Kidd: He finished. The whole novel is published and put online (with 9 first free chaps, the rest to buy).

WRA’s novel is often in parts, it’s a chain or novels and sometimes he contradicted with himself. Lol, being honest WRA’s writing is kinda similar to Gu Long’s but Gu Long has better imagination.

@HTS: Problem is recently, TVB’s wuxia series are not welcomed.

    2. I totally agree with you Pineapple about them running out of ideas! I guess I am opposite of you since I don’t like any modern series much, pre modern which is the 1930s or gangsters type series. I actually did not start watching any modern series until recently. Back in the days, I only watched ancient only and still love and prefer them over any modern based series. The plot in a series and the time setting is the most important things in a series to me, not the cast. I see so many people that only care for the cast and then watch a series then complain about it. Therefore, you can see that there is way more to a series than the cast and even your most favorite actresses and actors cannot save a series with a bad plot.

  6. This is not a sequel but a new series with same cast right? Because Gigi and Bowie died in War & Beauty.

    1. No it might just be a ‘sequel’ with same cast but new storyline

      1. I wonder what more is there to talk about??? Don’t tell me that they will continue with the same old tactics like they did in part 1… That would be really redundant and boring…

  7. TO be honest I don’t think Kate and Tavia are ready to lead a grand production sequel like this with their current capability. Kate is still lacking and Tavia, well her OTT performance in BTROC still fresh in my mind.

    1. make kate the lead in a grand production LOL

i want to see the audience response

      1. She isn’t capable to lead a small production yet and you want her to lead in a grand production? lol

      2. LOL, yeah want her to screw up so badly that she will be “freezed”. anyway tvb isn’t stupid enough to put her in lead of a grand production

      3. Who noe Kate can make big in this. Who thinks that she can act well on silver screen but she did that.

      4. I actually don’t mind Kate that much in LOO, she’s not that bad in this series and she doesn’t have a pinnochio nose like someone else that stole the limelight but I have reservation about Kate leading in a big ancient series.

      5. @lol: I’ll see the production first to judge. Who can imagine that Linda’s Miss Koo is that famous and overshadowed all in YSSS :P.

      6. YOu know never know… I think that we should give her a chance since she has acted as the lead before so it’s not like she hasn’t. She can really impress you. I remember how I doubted some others in the past, but then they did not disappoint me in the end…

      7. the lead? haha I obviously don’t like Kate but I don’t think that even if she is added, she will be the ‘main’ she may probably be one of the concubines or a courtesan type to be honest

    2. Maybe Tavia will learn from past criticism and tone down her OTT portrayal.

      1. I hope so. I hope there are people who manage to tell her that she was OTT despite her becoming popular with that BTROC performance

      2. From the trailer for the Chinese series where she is evil again (ok, I’m a big fan of Ady An so I watched the trailer to decide that I should watch this series or not because it has TY), I dun think she learned a lesson.

      3. Kidd,
I didn’t watch BRTOC, so I can’t comment on Tavia’s performance. The few minutes of scenes I happened to overhear while my parents’ watched it was too noisy for me to bear.

However, Tavia did win Favorite Character and Outstanding Performance awards for BTROC, so wouldn’t she be encouraged to reprise similiar acting style in WAB 2; especially if her more dramatic style attracted Jonathan Chik? Btw, Jonathan Chik has tendency for melodrama.

      4. Beats me how Tavia can win TWO awards from that messy exaggerated over dramatic acting.

      5. @Fox: Sorry to hear that! Tell me she’s rolling her eyes and bulge them out again

      6. @VIvien,
I agree and still wonder how Tavia won 2 awards for her performance in BROTC?? I think that the awards were always rigged which is why the ones that we expect to win eventually don’t win but the ones that don’t deserve it always win. That is why I don’t think the awards really mean much anymore… I still wonder how Gigi won over Sheren back in the days???

      7. @Fox,
I know that Gigi won with WAB. That was what I was referring to when I said that Gigi won over Sharen…. However, I thought it was so obvious so I didn’t mention the series since I think everyone already knows that….

      8. Tavia was a bit OTT but somehow I still like her haha…a little sad that Gigi won’t be returning but I know some of her crying scenes were a bit much

  8. Not to be rude to Tavia’s fans out there, I love Tavia’s past dramas but is Tavia’s performance really that exceptional in “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” that she could catch the eye of the producer of “War and Beauty”? I felt her acting in there was, in fact, a little too overrated and exaggerative, with the fierce scheming eyes and sly smile.

well that IS rude, you probably could have mentioned it inside a comment, not as your footnote in the article? Producer Chik obviously saw something in her, and it’s OK for you to not see any in her, afterall you were not the one that produced WAB. (i believe a lot of anti-TY fans or pple who hold something against her will criticize or not even agree to her acting)

really tired of seeing in these so-called kate secuding things.. her lips are trying TOO much to press out!

    1. Tavia was terrible in BTROC. I believe it was the director’s instruction. The more famous she is, the more exposed she is, the worse she becomes. She needs to tone down and I hope she will because she is better than how she was in BTROC. everytime I feel that negative feeling for her rising, I need only to remind myself of Vigilante Force and The Land of wealth (I think) of what she is capable of. She is still to me not a leading lady material, she is not charismatic but she can act well.

    2. Why you allow yourself to hate Kate’s secuding things but not allow other ppl to hate TY’s acting? It’s matter of opinion. TY is of course not the best actress in the world, simply that.

Ah K’s comment in fact can’t be considered as rude. She said no rude word to TY, in fact she tried to use good words to comment on her.

      Being less sensitive.

    3. Mentioning inside the comment and mentioning as a footnote is the same. It’s still Ah K giving her comment. Why is it rude to mention in one place and not rude to mention in another?

“(i believe a lot of anti-TY fans or pple who hold something against her will criticize or not even agree to her acting)”

Which is very logical and natural a thing to do.

“really tired of seeing in these so-called kate seducing things.. her lips are trying TOO much to press out!”

See? You are doing the same thing to Kate.

I can also use your defense of Tavia on Kate.

Producer Chik obviously saw something in Kate, and it’s OK for you to not see any in her, afterall you were not the one that produced WAB.

      1. hello is too sensitive, we have to understand for her.

But it’ll be funny if the WAB 2 is really made and only Kate is named in the list but not TY. Dunno if it happens, hello will say that Producer Chik have no eyes on talent or not.

    4. @hello
I don’t see anything rude in Ah K’s comment or is it just you yourself being too sensitive? If you can’t accept constructive criticism about TY from the others than that’s just too bad!

Anyway,I too think that TY’s performance in BTROC was really overrated and I hated the fact that her fans complained on how Charmaine was having too many screentime and TY’s sceentime was minimized I mean like hello????Don’t they know who is lead and who is second lead in there? If TY was capable enough even a 5 minutes screentime is enough to make her famous!

      1. ROFL yeah true! If Tavia was capable even a small screentime can also make great impact! The truth is she exaggerated and over dramatic

      2. VERY true! Some artists can even stand out when they are in cameo roles so I don’t feel that the amount of screentime really matters.

      3. Agree, Laughing is a very good example of this! In EU, he was not the leading role but end up stealing the limelight!

    5. @Hello,
You need to respect others opinions. I like Tavia as well but her perfomance is BTROC was horrible. Why did you think Ah K is rude?? She just stated her opinion and in fact many agree with her. She did not insult or say anything really bad about Tavia at all. I guess you are just a bad die hard fan of hers so refuse to hear anything bad about her. However, as a fan you need to know that it is ok to criticize even your favorites at times since you can’t guarantee that they are great in every single role that they play. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean that you can’t criticize them. I think it is not normal if you didn’t…

    6. @hello:

Oh okay, I will keep that in mind next time, didn’t expect it to be so “case-sensitive”. But anyway, firstly, if my lecturer didn’t teach me wrongly, a footnote usually means an accompanying sentence at the bottom of all the texts, in reference to the texts above. I did not, in any of the texts above, leave a denotation implying to refer to my comments directly below.

Furthermore and secondly, I have already stated that it’s my thoughts. I did not explicitly say or state that everyone who reads this article must adhere to it. I don’t see anything wrong with expressing my own thoughts. I also don’t see the need to explain myself but if you must know, I only wrote it as a so-called “footnote” and not as an independent comment as I usually translate articles one after another so by the time I have time to comment on this article, people would have already passed on this article and went on to comment on the next one and I would have missed reading all your fabulous comments in reply to mine. I, for one, love knowing whether people agree or disagree with my thoughts.

I wouldn’t dare to have the nerve to say that I’m impartial when commenting but I try my best to. As you have already known by now, although I’m a Kate fan, I’m not blinded by my implied favoritism for her in any way, if she’s bad in acting and only excel in seductive roles, I say it as it is. If she’s bad in singing, I also say it as it is. I’m not out to target Tavia at all, in fact as I said, I grew up watching her past dramas from “The Awakening Story” to “Eternal Happiness” to “Golden Faith” to “The Vigilante in The Mask” to “The W Files” and so on and so on. In fact, I grew to notice her from her performance as Michelle Ye’s maid in “Eternal Happiness” so of course, Tavia undeniably has the acting potential in her. But, to me, it is a fact that her acting skills has deteriorated in recent years, I’m just saying it as per how I feel. If her acting is bad in recent dramas, I’m just saying it as it is. If someday Tavia’s acting skills were to improve, I can reassure you that I would definitely put her in high praise again. But unless she impresses me with better acting skills in her upcoming dramas then I’m sorry but I’m gonna stick to my conjecture. Well, what can I say, the truth hurts. 😛

      1. And thank you all very much for your kind comments above. I believe @hello has her own good reasons for disagreeing with me on this. Well, such is life, we can’t possibly expect people to agree with us all the time, can we? 😀

      2. you know what.. maybe i was too sensitive to your footnote. do you need my apologies?

it certainly makes a difference where you put your “comments”. if your comments are regarding the process of the translation of the article, i would certainly read that… but really got no interest reading your opinion to bring up some discussion points. i think the comments section is left for that.

in the past, i have not noticed Jayne’ footnotes to be like that.. maybe with the new translators coming in , you guys are steering in that direction. which is fine, afterall it’s just your site.

just a side note, if it’s not rude, why did you even mention “not to be rude”.
isn’t it a little bit like asking for trouble?

Producer Chik obviously saw something in her, which you did not.. i am more questining why you are questioning producer chik’ opinion….

*side side note, not sure how reliable this news paper article is, but reporters could be putting things in prod. chik’ mouth.. (are you maybe questioning that?)
so no i won’t be dissapointed if TY is neither in WAB or any grand production.

and everyone, please do not associate hello with a die hard fan of TY. i am a fan, but wouldn’t say i am a die hard fan. i don’t go chasing cars, or browse forums whole day about TY… how do you even ‘define a die hard fan’ anyways?

regarding Kate, i am really sorry, but i raelly gotta say her acting is only slightly below Fala’ and Linda out of the 5 girls now (myo, ty, etc..)
isit something bout her face, or hair?? i think nancy wu, selena li or sharon chan is even more attractive and got better acting skills than her.

      3. Acting is subjective so one person can say one actor/actress is great while another person can hate it… Everyone has different opinions and views…

      4. but when the average audience thinks kate is a lousy actress then the subjectivity becomes accepted as true with X% level of confidence.

fact is kate is the worst of the promoted fadans. agree with “hello” sharon and especially selina are so much better!

      5. “and everyone, please do not associate hello with a die hard fan of TY. i am a fan, but wouldn’t say i am a die hard fan. i don’t go chasing cars, or browse forums whole day about TY… how do you even ‘define a die hard fan’ anyways?”

Who chased cars, browse forums sometimes are not as crazy as the ones online. Chase cars, browse forums are not the factors who define crazy fans or not but the over-protection and over-idolisation defined it.

“regarding Kate, i am really sorry, but i raelly gotta say her acting is only slightly below Fala’ and Linda out of the 5 girls now (myo, ty, etc..)
isit something bout her face, or hair?? i think nancy wu, selena li or sharon chan is even more attractive and got better acting skills than her.”

It’s your own opinion and it doesn’t become a fact even how many times you say about it.

      6. It’s your own opinion and it doesn’t become a fact even how many times you say about it.

geezzzzz. Great Thank you! that was really constructive criticism. NOT… wasn’t it obvious it’s my opinion and your reply to this is wasting the web space?

      7. Still have the first part, lol.

A bonus to the wasted web space reply:

Producer Chik obviously saw something in her, which you did not.. i am more questining why you are questioning producer chik’ opinion….

Chik obviously saw something in Kate which you did not. I’m more questioning why you are questioning Chik’s opinion (on Kate)?

And yes, it would be funny if TY isn’t invited but Kate is :P. Hope this moment hello won’t say Chik doesn’t have eyes on talent :P.

      8. would love to contribute to this waste of web space – i aint no granny and dont like to repeat myself, but i’ll do it just to copy what fox cut and pasted 2nd time..

in NO way was i questioning producer chik’ opinion about choosing kate. so PLEASE do not put words in my mouth. (you probably need some engrish lessons?)

and yes, i would like to acknowledge on your part, that i DID read about you saying prod chik choosing kate and end up not having TY, which i already replied somewhere above, i would not be dissapointed at all. is that clear enough FOx? have i annoyed you enough already?

you really love to put words in pple mouth… “Hope this moment hello won’t say Chik doesn’t have eyes on talent .” —-
(that moment hasn’t even come yet, don’t put out speculations or wot not)

o wait, now i remember, you are that friend who had a friend who was a fan of TY that you borrowed money to, and something led to the other, and now you really dislike TY, and therefore probably dislike all TY fans or anyone who is sayin good things abt TY… are you that same Fox?? .. if so i shud stop replying to you, since i dont want to turn into a granny…. and yes i remember your friend had a knife send to her house (and apparently it was a ty fan or so that send it to her house?) … am i drivin ya crazy yet?

      9. Your reading on TY story is uncompleted. What I said is totally different to this but I’m lazy to repeat and of course, don’t have the mood. And I lent money, not borrowed. I don’t hate ALL TY fans or anyone say good about her, I hate her crazy fans I met. So I don’t hate you for sure. I only wonder why you are too sensitive like this, to criticise Kate and at the same time, use an excuse that can be used to Kate to defense TY.

I said about Kate twice but you have never replied, so I repeated it for you to reply. I dun put words in your mouth, I’m guessing your answer. So to make clear, you don’t question Chik’s eyes on Kate, right? You won’t have a problem with Chik’s eyes if he choose Kate at all? That’s all I wanna know by now.

      10. @hello you’re dissing others for comment about Tavia but at the same time comment about Kate lol. I don’t think Ah K comment in the footnote or in comment section makes any difference.

      11. hello hello hello!!

now i am really curious, (maybe its my engrish that needs some lesson) what is the difference between borrowing money to a friend, or lending money to a friend??

as far as what i can get from dictionary.com, they both mean repay the money (unless you expected some interest on it?)

I only wonder why you are too sensitive like this, to criticise Kate and at the same time, use an excuse that can be used to Kate to defense TY.

really, you gotta go read Ah K’s footnote above.

is Tavia’s performance really that exceptional in “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” that she could catch the eye of the producer of “War and Beauty”?

she was questioning prod. chik opinion. as a follow up to that, i questioned why she would be questioning him. afterall he is the one who produced a succesful series, not Ah K.

my opinion regarding Kate is my opinion, are you saying that i should honor Prod. Chik’ opinion that he chose Kate, and therefore Kate must be good, so i shouldn’t question it??

I am not totally following your logic at all.

I said about Kate twice but you have never replied, so I repeated it for you to reply.
you don’t expect every single person to be replying to you on the web, do you really?

You won’t have a problem with Chik’s eyes if he choose Kate at all? That’s all I wanna know by now. my gosh, you are a nanny! nag nag nag nag nag nag nag, you have repeated this the 3rd time. i sense you are a person who really like to go deeeeeeep into pple’s answers.

Now my question back to you is.. how would you react if Prod Chik chose TY and not Kate??

        it’s a realll hypothetical question,

so………no need to answer, cause i am not interested to know at all.. lol

      12. @ Fox

Ooo, what happened with your friend that was a TY fan and what happened to make you not like TY? I’m just being a busybody so you can ignore me if you want to.

      13. @lol, i am dissing other pple, at the same time other pple are dissing me too. it’s a 2 way lane. thats what the web is for.

I don’t think Ah K comment in the footnote or in comment section makes any difference. you don’t think so, i do think so. there you go. A difference in opinion. i voiced what i have seen in the past before in jaynestars.com and the difference now, so what is your sense or educational backing up on this that there is no difference in putting it @footnote or @comment section?

maybe Jayne should just start throwing pple out (me included?) if these comments are getting out of whack.

      14. @ hello

I’m being pedantic here but it’s English not engrish.

And in English, it’s lending money TO a friend; borrowing money FROM a friend. You lend to someone, but borrow from another. In Chinese language, there is no borrow and lend, 借 can be used in both forms.

      15. hello, do you check wat you said before you provide the second reply? You said that you replied me so I confirmed you you haven’t.

I borrow money = someone give me money

I lend money = I give someone money.

The difference is too clear, isn’t it?

If Chik chose TY not Kate, I have no problem because from the beginning, I don’t have any question on his choices. But you in your post, you mentioned “Producer Chik obviously saw something in her”. I meant that Chik also chose Kate (According to the tabloids), so he obviously saw something in Kate that you didn’t see to defense Kate. Everyone here see the fact that you defense TY but at the same time, you criticise Kate but your excuse used to defense TY can be used to defense your comment on Kate. That’s all.

However, assume that you make clear on it then no more matter.

@ CY: I’m lazy to repeat it. You can check some old topic to find out. If you are lazy, too, you can ignore this.

      16. well thakn you both CJ and Fox, i learnt sth new today.

@Fox, this is TOTALLY following your logic…

I meant that Chik also chose Kate (According to the tabloids), so he obviously saw something in Kate that you didn’t see to defense Kate.

still doesn’t answer me, does that mean i shouldn’t criticize Kate, cause Chik saw sth in her (i know Chik also saw sth in TY yes..)

Everyone here see the fact that you defense TY but at the same time, you criticise Kate but your excuse used to defense TY can be used to defense your comment on Kate.
i am not sure if everyone agrees with you. Let’s see a show of hands?
i agree, with your statement above that the same can be used to defense Kate… but is that telling me not to criticize Kate? i am still not getting it…

adding some waste of web space, for you to read again:

really, you gotta go read Ah K’s footnote above.
is Tavia’s performance really that exceptional in “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” that she could catch the eye of the producer of “War and Beauty”?

she was questioning prod. chik opinion. as a follow up to that, i questioned why she would be questioning him. afterall he is the one who produced a succesful series, not Ah K.
my opinion regarding Kate is my opinion, are you saying that i should honor Prod. Chik’ opinion that he chose Kate, and therefore Kate must be good, so i shouldn’t question it?? correction, shouldn’t be criticizing Kate??

I am not totally following your logic at all. —> i should say, i am totally lost on your logic.

      17. @ hello

Errm, sorry but I think you meant CY.. There another commentator here called CJ but that’s not me…

      18. @ Fox

Haha, I don’t think I have the patience to go through all the topics to find out.. But it’s all right.. Thanks anyway.

      19. @fox, now i am dissapointed. i was trying realll hard to understand.

      20. @CY: Haha, since both of us are lazy, just ignore this. It’s better not to read than read the uncompleted version.

@hello: I’m lazy now. The weather is hot.

      21. haha, that was really a good debate ^_^ and I had to re-read again & again to understand what you gals r argueing cuz it contains alot twisted words/meanings 🙂

      22. @hello:

“you know what.. maybe i was too sensitive to your footnote. do you need my apologies?”

It’s okay, I know we tend to get a little carried away when we comment sometimes.

“It certainly makes a difference where you put your “comments”. if your comments are regarding the process of the translation of the article, i would certainly read that… but really got no interest reading your opinion to bring up some discussion points. i think the comments section is left for that.
in the past, i have not noticed Jayne’ footnotes to be like that.. maybe with the new translators coming in , you guys are steering in that direction. which is fine, afterall it’s just your site.”

First and foremost, I wish to clarify that Jaynestars is not my site. Jaynestars is the fruit of Jayne’s labour. I am just helping her out in any way I can after leeching onto the entertainment news after so many years. I wouldn’t dare claim ownership of the site when I am just a small insignificant contributor to the site.

Well, I thought that it was okay to leave “footnotes” at the bottom of the article since Jayne did so too. Since no one said anything until you voiced it out, I assumed that it was okay and that it sat well with them. But well apparently not. Thank you for your suggestions though, I will keep it in mind that not all readers would be interested in reading my thoughts and will state it as a comment in the future. As I said, I’m always receptive to constructive comments and glad for anyone to show me the ropes as I’m just a new contributor to this site.

“just a side note, if it’s not rude, why did you even mention “not to be rude”.
isn’t it a little bit like asking for trouble?”

Well, if it is of the utmost importance for you to know, I didn’t,  in my wildest dream, expect that my usage of “not to be rude” would matter so much to someone. I just thought that it would be nice to use other words instead of the usual boring “no offense”, I’m not a fan of sticking to the norm or for conventional things (Which is kind of contradictory since I believe in folklore beliefs) Well, maybe it was indeed an oversight on my part to neglect the feelings of Tavia’s fans out there.

“Producer Chik obviously saw something in her, which you did not.. i am more questining why you are questioning producer chik’ opinion….”

I don’t profess to have a better nose for sniffing out flawless acting skills delivered and neither do I have the foresight for picking out cast and crew as compared to Producer Jonanthan Chik. But why can’t I question? You mean I have to be in that trade or industry in order to be able to question a person’s way of doing things or handling matters? You mean if I’m not working in the banking sector, I cannot question how the bank officers calculate my loan or their way of handling things? You mean if I’m not working in the service industry, I cannot question how they serve, us, their customers too? I mean that’s absurd! Since when was questioning someone else’s motive, way of thinking or take on matters not a form of human rights anymore? Furthermore, I’m just stating my stand as an audience. Audience are also an integral part of the success of any drama series. If producers were to do things and film as they deemed fit, then where did the analogy “accustoming to the audience” come from? Why then did the producers of “Lives of Omission” have to edit or amend the ending? So then am I trying to say, come let’s all go and be producers too since anyone can be a producer as long as we were an audience? No. I firmly believe that like directors, producers are experts who refine and hone in their film production craft so no doubt they are the best person for this job. But can they make mistakes? The answer is yes. Yes, they may be the veterans in this field but who is to say that veterans wouldn’t make mistakes too? Case in point, just look at famed director, Ang Lee, he had also seen his fair share of applauded hits like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “Brokeback Mountain” and “Lust, Caution” and also negatively criticized flops such as “Hulk”, so wasn’t he none too wiser at times too? Thus, I firmly believe that as long as you are a human, you are bound to have made a mistake in any point of your life. Hence can anyone safely guarantee whether Jonathan Chik’s decision to cast Tavia would prove to be a right or wrong one? Not me, not you, not anyone can predict about something so far ahead. So yes, if you want to talk about statistics, there is a 50% probability that Tavia’s acting might screw up and prove producer Jonathan Chik wrong in his own game. Then so am I being entirely wrong to question why he had to pick Tavia for a heavy-weight role since there is a 50% chance of failing terribly? I don’t think so.

“*side side note, not sure how reliable this news paper article is, but reporters could be putting things in prod. chik’ mouth.. (are you maybe questioning that?)”

And why would I want to question that? It’s none of my business whether the reporter contoured his words out of proportion or put their words in his mouth, I’m not Jonathan himself for crying out loud. I don’t give two hoots whether he is planning to sue the magazine for libel or not. As a reader and translator, I just simply read and tend to believe what I have read. If I doubt every newspaper or magazine or even tabloid reports then I might as well be better off reading the Wall Street Journal or The Economist instead of entertainment news.

About this, I do agree with you that Kate is falling behind them in the acting department. To be honest, even though I’m a Kate fan, if you asked me what are Kate’s memorable roles thus far, I think I wouldn’t be able to answer you without googling for it. Nothing comes to mind literally. Or maybe just one or two like “Moonlight Resonance” or “The Four”. Other than that, she was rather terrible in “Brink of Law” and annoying in “When The Lanes Merge”. If I really had to choose between Fala and Linda, I would pick Linda as the better actress out of the two. Although Linda’s crying scenes can get a little bit taxing at times, overall, Linda can act in a serious role, funny role (“Can’t Buy Me Love”, melodrama role (“Heart of Greed” and “Moonlight Resonance”) and scheming role (“Gem of Life”).  Fala is overall an average actress who can give some surprisingly good acting at times (like in “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Steps”, “A Journey Called Life” and “No Regrets”) but is also bound to display some wooden acting like in “Links To Temptation”.

I think that Nancy Wu’s acting skills are getting better too, especially with her recent performance in “Gun Metal Grey”, just don’t give her any more mistress roles please, sick of seeing her being typecast in them.

I like Selena Li’s acting too but I hope the producers will put her in some evil roles one day instead of the usual sweet and nice type of roles, would love to see how she fares in them!

Sharon Chan, she’s one of my favorite actresses in TVB because of her friendly and fun persona off-screen but no comments about her acting skills as I haven’t watched her performance in “Ghetto Justice” yet.

      23. haha what an interesting read. @hello: don’t take it to heart/seriously what you read here. I’ve been here for a while and can tell that Jaynestars is primarily a anti-Tavia site/forum. Whatever you read here are just personal opinions. Whenever you defend a idol (which is the first reaction of a fan) from negative comments, be well understand that you will receive bashing like “Everyone has their own opinion. You bash other idols but don’t accept bashing of your own. Accept criticisms etc etc…..” Anyone who defends will receive that same comment regardless of who it is.

In regards to to Ah K’s ‘footnote’, Ah K’s not that bad compared to some other unreasonable ones here. I don’t think Ah K meant it that way. Ah K contributes a lot here at Jaynestars by translating articles. Unlike SOME PEOPLE who just because they had a bad personal experience decides to hate all TY fans coz they think TY fans reflects TY. They think the characteristics of fans reflects the true character of an idol. I don’t even know if its true (I have my reservations) – probably made up the story so they can spread bad rumors who knows. *shrugs* See some ppl like to generalise so since they hate Tavia, they will also hate their fans. Which is totally ridiculous and one-sided thinking. Don’t even bother speaking to these ppl. From what I read, Ah K doesn’t seem to be like that.

Btw @hello, if you prefer an English site to read news and don’t like to read too many anti-tavia comments, then I would recommend you not to come here in the future. I could easily direct to somewhere else where you can read these news where its more ‘civil’ and friendly…They can get quite aggressive here. Lemme know =)

      24. @ hello

“in the past, i have not noticed Jayne’ footnotes to be like that.. maybe with the new translators coming in , you guys are steering in that direction. which is fine, afterall it’s just your site.”

This is untrue. Most translations of Jayne also came with footnote where she gave her opinion on the subject. Sometimes, the comments can be long like Ah K’s too.

I remember quoting and replying to her footnote comment a few times before and I was not always in agreement with her footnote comment.

That’s why I don’t see what is wrong with Ah K’s doing so. I actually enjoy reading the translators footnote comment, be it Jayne’s or Ah K’s.

      25. Tavia’s not the best, but neither are all those other ‘potential actresses’. Despite the criticisms here in terms of her OTT acting, her long nose, her being disrespectful and rude and unfriendly – if you read the main hk forums, the media’s reports/articles, the professional critics, what other co-stars say about Tavia, be assured that her reputation is actually positive. Read what critics say about Tavia, her acting has been confirmed to be excellent and veterans/directors/producers (the important ppl) have praised her so who really cares what a few civilians have to say here and there.

As I always say, 10% of haters do not represent what the whole community think of Tavia so don’t take it too seriously.

      26. “I’ve been here for a while and can tell that Jaynestars is primarily a anti-Tavia site/forum”

If comments here make you feel luke this side is anti-Tavia, I can also say this site is
        – anti-Kate
        – anti-Linda
        – anti-Raymond
        – anti-Edison
        – anti-Cecilia
        – anti-Bernice
        – anti-Myolie
        – anti-plastic surgery
        – anti-actress marrying/dating rich guy

Honestly, many actresses/actors have their fair share of criticism here. I don’t consider it as anti. Maybe this site has fewer commentators than asianfanatics and the vocal and frequent commentators happen to be unimpressed by Tavia’s recent performances. So, it seems that people are anti-Tavia, but, it isn’t the case.

Sentiments also change. If Tavia can give a performance that impresses people again, the tone here will change, just like it happen to Linda.

      27. Kidd, you forgot, Jaynestars is also

        – pro-Kate
        – pro-Linda
        – pro-Raymond
        – pro-Edison
        – pro-Cecilia
        – pro-Bernice
        – pro-Myolie
        – pro-plastic surgery
        – pro-actress marrying/dating rich guy

Basically Jaynestars is a mismash of everything.

My take is if you (not Kidd) find this place so disagreeable, the best option is to go to Tavia forums, you will find nothing but the most glowing praises.

      28. I now blv that lara’s old username in Jaynestar is buti4 because what she said is totally the same to buti4. If they are two different ppl, wow, TY fans really share the same mind.

@lara: You have strong denial mind. Whenever something bad happen to others, it’s deserved to them but when something bad happen to TY, it’s fault of all others? This site is an open forum for everyone to give out opinion. TY isn’t the only one who is criticized in here. You even joined some bashes, so you must understand this better? Or in your mind, TY is the person that nobody can touch, can criticize or even can’t comment badly? Only good things can be talked about her? If you really think that, you should reconsider.

And there are tons of bad tabloids on her, not only the nose but also on how unprofessional she is in the filming field, argument with other artists, two-faced treatment, etc. If you choose to believe the media, you might be shocked a lot when they target her. However, I can see your strong denial mind. This is good for your fanatic.

Lol, somehow you don’t know but you proved my view in the exact way. 10% of ppl are haters is a great amount anyway. Just keep the thinking that everyone love her, nobody have any problem with it. In the end of the day, she still has fans and hater. Go to a TY forum like Funn’s suggestion, this is where you only can find praises. Stop going to open discussion forums if you can’t accept anyone criticize her.

        Good day.

      29. I think some of Tavia’s fans here are too sensitive and take everything too seriously and negatively

      30. I think its totally normal for a fan to be defensive about their idol.

Why can’t everyone just accept that there are people who like Tavia and that there are people who hate her? Why do people who hate Tavia get to have a say here, yet ppl who like her can’t?

Whenever someone comes out to defend her, you bash the fans as a whole (you don’t look at them as individuals) and say they have to open their eyes. Well like I always said, there are haters and I accept there are haters but be realistic, there are people here with different opinions.

Like what a certain someone said before, they already generalised her fans as reflecting the artist. They think that every fan is the same. And she made that same ‘assumption’ again. Just because another fan said the same thing, ALL TY fans think that way. Hellooooo how many have you met? She’s got a million fans, you think they think the same? It was a very offensive comment yes. Look at how unreasonable that person was. I hope everyone here doesn’t think follow their footsteps and have that stupid thinking.

Btw, my comments was to explain to @hello to not take things seriously. Was I actually in denial when I specifically acknowledge that there are haters and fans and that haters are entitled to their opinion as well? Did I not say that? I was only referring to Tavia because you guys were talking about Tavia. If you say that this is anti-kate or whatever yes… I just didn’t mention it.

People like to put words into my mouth AGAIN… how many times do I have to clarify? I did not say Tavia can’t be criticised, I didn’t even say Tavia was the best. In fact, I quote: “Tavia’s not the best” so hence I don’t understand where ur allegations come from? @Fox please explain your allegations. Where did I say ‘only good things can be talked about her’?

Look its ok for you guys to have criticisms for her. Everyone idol has their haters. But if you want people to respect what you have to say, then respect that there will be people who will have a different opinion from you and I think its totally normal for fans to be defensive.

And for the record, since this post was in reply to @hello’s comment about @Ah K’s footnote, I found it totally fine with Ah K’s comment.

Stop thinking urselves as a saint, just because someone came out to defend, there’s no need to bash that person like this. If you have the right to speak bad, why can’t other ppl have the right to speak bad?

      31. i meant: If you have the right to speak bad, why can’t other ppl have the right to speak good?

      32. You are so hilarious. Whoever ban you to protect TY? If you want to do such thing, you can do whenever you want. You are talking like ppl don’t allow you to praise and defense her.

You don’t need to say that ppl put words to your mouth. It’s too clear in your post. If you can accept ppl criticize TY. you didn’t jump and say the above things. That’s all.

      33. You are hilarious too. This is coming from a person who thinks fans actions show how an artist is. Ridiculous.

Can’t even find a quote from my comment to back up your allegations? Ain’t you a lawyer? I didn’t know assumptions would be considered evidence. LOL

      34. You don’t find that your reactions are similar to your idols and you like ppl who share the similar character with you? Look at yourself again and you will find that wat I said is actually correct. Unless you think TY is very bad, you don’t need to feel shame when ppl say you are like her.

Job is job and entertainment is entertainment. Why I need to bring works to my entertainment life? And assumption can be a source to find evidences, you don’t know that? Everything must start with an assumption.

BTW, I dun bother to quote you. Yawn.

      35. To answer your question: no I don’t me and Tavia are similar, so your assumption is wrong. I don’t feel shame whether or not Tavia is bad but I think I deserve to be recognised and identified as a unique individual rather than as a reflection of someone famous regardless. I got self-esteem and personal identity, I don’t need or act like another person. Introverts probably would think otherwise though.

If you think assumptions is a source of evidence, then I can also assume its a reflection of bad character if a person was mistreated by both a celeb and a friend. Don’t be offended, I just used it as an general example. I just ‘assumed’ things since you said its ok to assume things right?

You won’t quote me because you can’t find any haha.

      36. Haha, since both of us are lazy, just ignore this. It’s better not to read than read the uncompleted version.

        @ Fox

Haha, yes, I will ignore it. Who knows, I might be able to come across it one day if I’m lucky 😛 But I agree with you, it’s better to get the whole story right, than to get bits and pieces then try to make up the whole story.. That’s usually how trouble starts..

      37. Serve you right:

. Accept criticisms etc etc…..” Anyone who defends will receive that same comment regardless of who it is.

if you prefer an English site to read news and don’t like to read too many anti-tavia comments, then I would recommend you not to come here in the future. I could easily direct to somewhere else where you can read these news where its more ‘civil’ and friendly…They can get quite aggressive here.

if you read the main hk forums, the media’s reports/articles, the professional critics, what other co-stars say about Tavia, be assured that her reputation is actually positive.

When you say about someone you don’t like:

Not get big-shot yet and already having this bad attitude at work. Geezzzz, we’re all humans. Some people need to work their a** off for so little money and there’s no need to be so rude. No need to even swear. There will always be people on set who forget their lines or whatever, you can try and help them or ask them nicely or whatever, but really no need to swear.

For people like these, I don’t think they deserve anything.

        What a b*tch.

Yeh person is a A-class actress …. and ‘somebody’s’ girlfriend… they always refer myolie and bosco’s other half as “somebody’s gf/bf.”

Like what happened to Fox how Bosco was rude to her, similarly Myolie did that to the kalafe.

Myolie probably thinking the throne is hers so that’s why she’s acting so rude and cocky. She probably has the ‘princess disease’…. The fanning bit by the assistant wasn’t too nice either.

Don’t look at celebrities on the surface. They can be quite two-faced. Just depends on personal experience and own opinion on if you believe it or not. Some ppl might have a good experience, some ppl might have had a bad experience.

All of yours. Do you see the problems in your own posts?

I’m lazy to dig more but the above mentioned are enough.

Your assumption is your assumption and I can’t do anything to change it. Just keep thinking so because I can’t force you to change. In the bottom of your heart, you know you are scared, scared wat I said will be a dent to your love.

        No, no need to reply.

      38. @CY: Yeah, and better than having own imagination and denial mind.

      39. @ Kidd

I think this site is anti-Edison for a reason (Chen right?). In my POV he deserved it. The way he handled the situation at that time was just so childish and pointing the blame game.

      40. @Fox: wow you actually care. I can’t even remember those are my posts. Anyway, thank you for paying attention to me. Unfortunately, it seems like a very long post and I really don’t have time to read all of them …. I was just joking – wasn’t really expecting someone to go through all my posts – there’s no regulation or need for my thinking and opinions to be consistent by the way (so whatever those previous posts you found may/may not reflect my PRESENT thinking) but you took it so seriously…. should I feel bad for wasting ur time? hmmmmmm

      41. This is just a forum Fox. There’s no need to go waste ur time and effort, to prove your point or prove other ppl wrong, and take things so seriously……..Just a tip.

      42. You are not only hilarious but also ridiculous. You dared me to find and when I foudnd out for you, you say such things? LMAO~. And you are repeating what I said to you.

Lol lol. It’s so funny. You make me think that there are more than 1 person who is using the username lara because you are so contradict with yourself.

      43. haha.. well at the end of the day, we all gotta face reality….to be honest, most people here wouldn’t even bother to go through that trouble. only you would Fox. I must applaud you for that.

      44. @Fox
I totally salute you for digging out lara’s previous posts. She is so contradicting.Well actually not only she but most of someone’s fans.I think they’re just so use to seeing praises of their idol that they can’t even take the slightest criticism hence the denial 🙂 If the situation was turn the other way round and her “idol” was the one getting a lot of praises while Myolie gets the constant critiques she will definitely join in the crowd and dissed Myolie like there’s no tomorrow.

        @Lara
C’mon if you’re so confident in Tavia’s acting why bother to take your time in replying to haters?I mean like you said 10% of haters do not represent what the whole community think of Tavia so what we’re discussing here is not going to get Tavia kicked out of TVB right? You can just turn a blind eye on and ignore it.Unless you’re feeling so insecure that you’re afraid what we said here is gonna affect her career 😛

You see as a rational fan I don’t go around forums arguing with haters because I know what I say will never get into their heads and nothing is going to change what they thought about my idol so I really don’t see the point of arguing back.If you’re smart enough you will know what to do! 🙂

      45. @macD: I totally agree with you. of course its not gonna affect her career what is said here. Vice-versa, there’s also no use in arguing with the fans either. There’s no point of teaching us how to judge or how to think. We’re all just fans who like the same or different people. Like I said, fans will have their own opinions and haters will have their opinions.

I’m sure you’ll do the same if you felt strongly about someone. Don’t expect a fan to join in the dissing. See, unlike what Fox said, each fan is different. Some fans would just sit there and ignore all those criticisms, some fans would come out and defend ….be realistic, not everyone is the same. Different people just deal with things differently. There is no code of conduct of how fans should be, so some of your comments that “Tavia fans should be this this this and not be that that that” you have here are just not right.

Btw I seriously think something needs to be done about this. This is not the first time we’ve had this discussion. If you don’t want the fans to be defensive, then i would suggest @Jayne to perhaps post up a Code of Conduct for everyone here to read, so if there was one, people will at least know what to expect from it. Rather than continuing for this same argument to unfold with every second article that comes up. Coz a new visitor – who doesn’t know how this site flows – would question the same thing that @hello did – and then the same dilemma will arise. On other sites, it’s totally ok to speak like this with no problem at all, but on Jaynestars seems ppl are more passionate with the discussion (to the extent of digging up ur old posts just to prove a point), maybe it works differently here? People here are participate more seriously.

      46. @lara: put words to my mouth like this is enough. I said how many time that you can feel free to defense TY if like? Are you living in your own world of imagination?

Excuse me, the one who need to face the reality is you. I won’t bother to quote you until you dared me to do so. You like this? Here is your words: “You won’t quote me because you can’t find any haha.”. I don’t need to dig long because I know the exact topic you posted about Myolie. I was so impressed with how you criticize her for a very small stuff like this. And it is even not clear 100% it’s Myolie. Your biased system worked very harsh when you are talking about someone you don’t like. But when ppl say something less harsh and more constructive about TY, you made everything seriously and talked like you were limited your speech right. Please wake up and grow up, too. Nobody want to tell do this and that, it’s your own choice.

Once again: Do watever you want, ppl don’t ban you. Feel free and prepare to be replied.

      47. @ CY

        “@ Kidd
I think this site is anti-Edison for a reason (Chen right?). In my POV he deserved it. The way he handled the situation at that time was just so childish and pointing the blame game.”

I don’t think this site is anti anyone. I just list all those antis to show that other actors/actresses also get their fair share of criticism in this site, not just Tavia. So, this site should not be said to be primarily anti-Tavia.

I hope Jayne won’t misunderstand me. I don’t think this site is anti anyone.

      48. @lara, please do refer me the engrish site. for now the only ones i am aware of are asianfanatics, asianuniverse and hyn5 blog.

i cannot read chinese myself, so i do appreciate any site that has english translated tvb news.

@Ah k, you still don’t get it do you? my main question was questioning why you would question Prod. Chik’ opinion bout choosing TY. (and where you put that question. in your footnote vs in a comment)

you sailed your boat tooo far away going on about banking sector, services, etc. Please come back. In questioning Prod. Chik opinion bout choosing TY, you are questioning his abilities, and my question to you was. why would you question him since he is the one who created a successful WAB series. (true that he could have bad taste now, and you are trying to point that out. i am just saying you are sorta kinda putting negatives on both Prod. Chik and TY in a nonconstructive way)

finally, thanks for replying to each and every single of my paragraphs, kate, selina, nancy, sharon. my point was just trying to follow what others did, bash and accept criticism 🙂

@fox i am dissapointed in you. you ended discussing with me, but you went on with lara. LOL

i do not think this site is anti- yet*

      49. Hello,

“ou still don’t get it do you? my main question was questioning why you would question Prod. Chik’ opinion bout choosing TY. (and where you put that question. in your footnote vs in a comment)

I am confused. I thought it was fair comments by Ah K. Just because the producer produced a hit ot hits after hits, doesn’t make his judgment unquestionable. How is a negative comment can be put in a constructive way? Example, is it “both of them are amazing but I don’t think TY is suited for that role and I think the producer may have made a bad move”? That’s a roundabout way.

      50. @hello:

        . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Actually, I don’t understand what’s with the relentless pursuing. The way I see it, our views on this matter are like the Republicans and the Democrats, which means we will never see eye to eye about this. Thus I don’t see any point of discussing further pertaining to this issue since it will be a fruitless one and lest things turn ugly.

It takes courage to win but it takes even more courage to back down from a “heated” discussion as such. Feel free to think what you want to think of me, even if you think I’m a coward, I’m not going to comment any futher on this. I would rather spend my time wisely on translating articles to benefit the other readers and commentators out there. Furthermore, my stand and take on this is not going to change just because of one person. I don’t need to say another word to prove anything because I’m confident that way. See you over at other threads! 😀

        @Funn:

Thank you for acknowledging with my earlier points, I feel consoled that at least someone in this world understands what I’m trying to put across here. I thought maybe my English wasn’t that good to be interpreted that way.

      51. wwwwoooow this is some pretty intense debate!!! Just wanna throw it out there that if anybody wanna bash someone, please bash politely and reasonably. don’t make up lies hahahaa. just saying. every celebrities has haters even if he or she is the best artist ever. jaynestar isn’t solely anti-something. it’s a mixture of diff anti-something same with other forums. anybody can voice their opinion! =D

    7. @Lara @Fox @Funn @Hello @Lol @Kidd

JayneStars is an open community to gather fans of Hong Kong entertainment artists where everyone is here to share and discuss our opinions. We try our best efforts to encourage open discussion, which may include both critical comments and praise about certain artists. We are all here to exchange views and because we are interested to hear what the community at large has to say. In this manner, it is important to be open-minded and discuss differences in opinion with respect for each other.

While JayneStars does feature many controversial stories, we are not an “Anti” site of any particular artists. Please do not label JayneStars as such, which is disrespectful of all the Contributing Writers’ hard efforts as well as the 6 years of time I have spent on this site. This website was founded because of my love of Hong Kong entertainment and my desire to share more information of Hong Kong celebrities.

The main intention is to really promote those artists more so that fans can get to know their latest news and understand their personalities behind their onscreen performances more. That is also the main intention behind the “Sexiest Man Alive” poll, which unfortunately has become a competitive and bashing ground for different fan groups, which I find distressing and lacking spirit.

I have refrained from being a “commentator police” and threatened to delete comments because it is undue censorship that I did not want to practice and against my personal website policy. However, I do need your cooperation to treat others with respect and also artists with respect in your critical comments. It is one thing to critique an artist’s acting abilities but another to go overboard regarding an artist’s personality or character because we do not really know them in real life. The same thing goes for respect to fans of different artists.

If you can not exercise this respect or can not be open-minded in your sharing of opinions, then JayneStars may not be the place for you.

However, do not go around and label JayneStars as an “ANTI” site because it undermines all the past efforts that the Contributing Writers and I have put in over the past 6 years. The personal opinions expressed by commentators does NOT represent the community at large nor our website. It only represents the select opinions of perhaps a few vocal commentators.

I kindly request that if you have already expressed your opinion on the matter at hand and if the other party has already heard your opinions and you fail to conduct a civil discussion together, then to cease and refrain from additional bashing of each other or particular artists. It is highly disrespectful and detracts from the general user experience here.

As always, respect others and respect yourself. JayneStars’ aim to continue to be an open-community to celebrate Hong Kong entertainment. This is not a “Haters” or “Anti” site. If you bear an intense hatred of a particular person or artist, take your hatred elsewhere.

      1. @Jayne: Except lara, I think everyone understand how this site run and have no problem with others’ comments or the favourite of others. Everyone have own opinion and it’s the freedom of speech to say something. But sadly, someone take thing too serious and live in own world so they can’t accept this.

However, if we are causing too much troubles to you, I will enject myself out of the above convo with lara.

      2. @Fox @Everyone

“if we are causing too much troubles to you, I will enject myself out of the above convo with lara.”

I would appreciate it if you did so.

Earlier you mentioned JayneStars is an anti-Tavia site. This is NOT true. JayneStars is not an “ANTI” site of any artists (see my earlier post).

JayneStars is also not a site for people of extreme opinions to carry on their personal crusade or hatred. This site is tolerant of difference in opinions, but it does not endorse HATRED of any kind.

      3. Huh? I have never mentioned so. You mistaken me with lara? I dun think this site is anti anyone.

      4. @Jayne

Don’t forget JayneStars is anti anti-people right? But that’s just an exception by implication I guess.

      5. I think this comment should be dedicated to newcomers of Jaynestars because they seem like a jumpy lot. I must applaud Charmaine’s fans though; she had it worse than Tavia and so far her fans haven’t been that jumpy.

For me for every pro there is an anti. That what makes a person fan of someone and the other not. Anti doesn’t mean you want that star to die. It just means you dislike/hate them with a passion, in words. By disagreeing doesn’t mean we are 100% anti, we have our reasons, we say our peace, some biased, some reasonable, some outright ridiculous insanely dumb.I have my fair share of each category I mentioned. I don’t get the whole Ah K footnote comments criticism, for me if you translated an article, you can summarise and give your opinion. This isn’t just a news sort of site, it is a discussion. No one is imposing their beliefs on anyone else. Everyone is offended, but how you react to being offended marks your presence here. I don’t wish this site to be moderated, but moderation should be towards threatening remarks. And I believe if you make a sweeping statement about someone, you better justify it instead of leaving it at that. Read, summarise, opine, verdict, that’s how I approach my reviews and that is how I approach my posts here. People are irritated often, again how you react to that marks who you are. There was never any major problems with anti this pro that before, just recent weeks and I need not explain why I feel there is a spike in that. My conclusion is everybody agrees to disagree and if you can agree on that, then don’t jump on every statement. See if that statement is worthy to jump on. Because “jumping” is so tiring you know?

      6. @jayne
JayneStars is an open community to gather fans of Hong Kong entertainment artists where everyone is here to share and discuss our opinions. We try our best efforts to encourage open discussion, which may include both critical comments and praise about certain artists.

very well said, thank you. and that is why i am here to read bout translated news. i would just like to point out. in the past your translated articles footnote contained more constructive criticism or positive praises. very rarely was it anything negative or bad or critizing or bashing an artist. (which i sometimes see in other sites. e.g. idlemindsehseh). With the recent translators, i am starting to see this trend where footnotes start with ‘im a fan of Kate, BUT… bla bla bla, and i wonder why prod. chik would choose TY’ these are not constructive criticism, and in my opinion thought it would fit better in the comments section. Very soon or easily people will associate Jaynestars with an anti- site, since the translated news contain such opinion in the footnotes. just a forewarning, you may disagree. below is an example:

in the recent yoyo mung article that you translated you had something about *She is probably crying thinking about the cost of the damages to the car.* — i did ask you wot kinda tone you used to say that, since this is all reading from the web, we don’t know what the tone is like. are you laughing at her, mocking her, or saying it out of sarcasm.. you did clear it up afterwards its a neutral tone, but think about readers reading the article, it’s not so automatic to skip the footnote and to some readers it may be.. wow.. this site has some of these .. opinions or anti- or what-so-ever…

i think what i am trying to say and bring out is, let’s make this world a better place for all. criticism is good, and there’ always just a fine line between criticism, bashing and how the other party reads it. so why don’t we all just go with pointing out good things more than bad things or artist – acting skills, how they dress and etc?

@Funn, why is there a generalization between newcomers or old timers? i started to read jayne’ articles 4-5 yrs ago (i think) she stopped translating articles for a year or so due to her family (dad) in the hospital, if i remember correctly. So am i classified as a newcomer or old timer?? these do’ of typecasting, generalizing is just not doing the community ANY good..

      7. @Hello, @Everyone

First of all, thank you for supporting JayneStars over the last 5 years. I have been making footnote comments since the inception of the site. Entertainment news is more fun to read if we can discuss it afterwards,, whiich is why Ah K and I like to put in our own opinions after our articles.

As the Chief Editor of JayneStars, I proof read everything and should assume responsibility for the materials submitted by Contributing Writers. However, an opinion expressed is for the sake of discussion and expression of one’s viewpoint. In addition,,Ah K’s comment was made in respect and was under no mean “Anti” Tavia.

As Funn pointed out, do we all have to jump at each others’ precise words? Should we cling onto each other’s viewpoints and severely criticize? Although we all have anonymity online, does that mean we can say stuff with disrespect and hate towards others? I speak online in the same manner I speak in real life. I express my views to others and when thhe oppposite end doesn’t listen, I let the issue go. There is no point to taunt and challenge if the argument is now emotionally out of control and not based on all sound logic or points anymore.

I am also tired of the. “Freedom of speech” argument. Yes everyone can express their opinion, but there is a fine line between constructive criticism, bashing, illogical and emotional ranting, reading too much into the words and therefore making unsubstantiated assumptions. The guideline should be talk to others onliine as you would talk to people in real life. No need for everyone to rant like an angry” New Yorker.”

Fox ceased her discussion with Lara as per my request. I would apppreciate it if you cease your challenge to continue the discussion too if there is nothing constructive left to discuss.

An online community is an evolving community. It takes everyone’s efforts to continue giving off a good vibe. This site is not a channel for personal crusades, malicious remarks, hateful and unfounded remarks towards each other, or continued taunts for a flame war to continue on and on. Think of everyone else who are exposed to the conversation. It takes a lot of tolerance for others who are listening in.

Let’s keep the community going in the right direction.

      8. @Everyone,

I have more to add regarding recent negative conduct at JayneStars. While normally I have great tolerance for difference in opinions, recent remarks have indeed gotten out of hand: full of hatred, taunting, scorn, immaturity, destruction and sometimes expletives. Or retaliate like there is no tomorrow.

If you cannot conduct yourselves in a mature manner with due respect for others, go elsewhere. Do not litter this site with negativity. Do not start flame wars for your personal ego-driven reasons or in the name of glorifying yourself and your idols at the expense of others. Why is it necessary to step on others to elevate yourself?

Perhaps the anonymity of the internet gives some people a protective cloak to hide under and allow their mean streak that they cannot display in their everyday lives? Do public figures, such as celebrities, deserve such malicious comments as voiced by certain commentators? And transfer that hate to even fans of particular artists?

Many people say irresponsible and mean stuff online because they can hide behind their internet alias. Your online behavior and remarks may not be your collective self, but it is sure an indication of who you are inside. Just because people do not step out to confront you does not mean they endorse you or is your negative conduct welcome and something you should be proud of.

If you want attention and unlimited freedom of expression, go start your own blog. Or go take some anger management classes. I can’t believe I am giving this lecture online.

      9. @Jayne,

Don’t worry, I think after this, ppl will remember and be more tactful when handling replies. We won’t stir and cause anymore probs to the forum ^_^. Cheers~

      10. Veejay,
Thanks! Hope my words are heard and will change the future direction of the community spirit for the better.

Many people including myself are tired of the negativity. It is not even constructive criticism anymore. It is just born out of a destructive streak to humiliate and retaliate endlessly.

      11. @Jayne,

No worries~, I think ppl just got carried away emotionally when they retaliate with each others thus leading a havoc in the forum. Don’t worry, gals can’t make any serious destruction to the forum, just some common gals’ bickerings and disagreements only. Look at those boys’ forums, it’s worse there with threats everywhere haha.

      12. @Jayne:

        *Thumbs up* LIKED!

Love your online lecture actually lol!

To be honest, one thing that irks me too is when topics are deviated and discussions get way too personal such that people launch personal attacks on each other. If one doesn’t know the other party on a personal level then I don’t think it is justifiable to do so and should be constituted as “cyberbullying”.

However, of course, every commentator in Jaynestars is a civilized individual but sometimes we can get a little too carried away when commenting hence it’s nice for you, Jayne, to step in occasionally to pull us back.

Jaynestars is clearly not an advocate or anti-advocate of anything. This is not a political site. To describe the site this way is akin to pouring the painstakingly accumulated reputation of Jaynestars and the hard work of Jayne and the past contributors down the drain. If this isn’t insulting, I don’t know what is. I can safely vouch that Jaynestars is a neutral site which primarily focuses on bringing the latest English entertainment news to people from all works of life and that includes fans of artistes. Through these articles, discussions are inevitable but my comments and other commentators’ comments do not stand for the representation of the site.

Lastly, I truly did not expect a mere usage of some words to escalate into a big “hoo-ha”. Even to the extent of troubling Jayne and other commentators to smoothen things out for me. If I could turn back time, I would choose to leave it as a comment than as a “footnote” in order to avoid the trouble and sensitivity incurred. I will, however, take heed to exercise caution in leaving “footnotes” if any, in the future. Thank you everyone for expressing your take on this matter. I hope that we will place this one-off incident to the back of our minds and continue to show our support for Jayne and Jaynestars but at the same time bearing in mind the cultured values mentioned above, as per suggested by Jayne, and build a welcoming and receptive environment for all readers and commentators alike.

      13. @ yep yep I agree Jayne!!! Everyone inevitably is an anti-someone but people just need to watch what they are saying. That doesn’t mean we can’t voice our opinion but we got to choose a more politer tone. hehehe

      14. @funn, thanks for providing a roundabout way. wasn’t it more polite to be saying it that way, instead of how Ah k put it?

        @ah k,
i really dislike how you always sail away so far when replying to people. stay on topic for gods sake. don’t worry i won’t think anything positive nor negative about you, vice versa i hope you don’t think of me as anything bad or negative.

glad you are confident that way,(it amazes me how at 1 point the english used by you can vary so much) I AM confident TOO (without any helpers/writers)!

        adios

      15. Ah K,
“If one doesn’t know the other party on a personal level then I don’t think it is justifiable to do so and should be constituted as “cyberbullying”.

Agree, cyberbullying indeed detracts from an online community’s culture, even for the people not directly involved in the bullying and only observing it.

Btw, you sound like you possess a strong sense of justice and like to speak up for people who may be stepped upon. 🙂

Thank you for support of the lecture. And no need to apologize for something in which you were not at fault.

    8. I am not a Tavia fan or do I dislike her but yeah she may have been OTT in that role but perhaps that is her first major villainous role that she got carried away? 😀

As for the Kate lip thing, yeah totally agree…but she will probably do it again and again and again..don’t forget the slanting of her already slanty eyes together with the pouting hehe

  9. “Back then, Sheren’s performance as Concubine Yu Fei was highly raved by everyone hence the sequel couldn’t do without such a prominent character. “

Sheren is only crucial if they are going to continue to story of Yu Fei. But, if that’s the case, where does Maggie comes in? On Sin is already dead.

    1. I doubt they want to pick on where WAB left because many characters died in there. Come on do we need another Fala Chen resurrection happening to Maggie, Gigi, Bowie?

      1. I’m just commenting according to the article that said the sequel can’t do without the character Yu Fei.

    2. Maybe it is like a continuation of Yu Fei’s struggle against younger prettier concubines? Like a reboot with one familiar character? Anyway never liked Yu Fei. My favourite was On Sin.

      1. I like the role acted by Jade Leung (sister of Charmaine’s chac) the most. Yu Fei is also one of my fave. On Sin, I dun link her much because I think even Yuk Ying has more layers than her.

But I less favoured Bowie’s chac. I dun noe why the girls crazy for him. He is boring.

      2. @Fox

Yay! I give hi 5 to you I also think Bowie is boring in WAB!

      3. @Fox @Vivien:

I felt Bowie’s role as an imperial physician was boring too! But I admit I only liked him best when he was having an affair with Gigi Lai’s Yuying lol! Other than that, he was boring to a T, didn’t get why Charmaine Sheh’s Erchun even liked him! :X

      4. its funny how i always read pple opinion about some characters or artist are boring…. and here i read bout ur fav was On Sin.

agree with Fox that even yuk yuk had more layers than on sin. on sin was just a TOO simple girl in the palace, waiting to get out, but in the end chose to stay cause she wanted revenge for her grandma?? that is something wrong with the storyline, and character is still boring i think.

      5. “But I less favoured Bowie’s chac. I dun noe why the girls crazy for him. He is boring.”

I think he is better than Moses. I like both Bowie’s acting and character more than Moses.

      6. Bowie’s chac get better in the end but maybe my impression of how boring he is in the beginning is too big so I can’t buy his chac later. Moses’s chac isn’t that better. The only male character I like in WAB is… the king. I find he is funny. Kidding. I like Pierre’s chac more.

But the one who made me surprised the most in this series is the Queen.

    3. Charmaine’s chac is also survive and stay in the palace then can develop her story, too.

      1. Oh I always thought she stayed in the palace, lol.

        BTW, yes, she was pregnant.

  10. Because is a 776’s, then probably the following ppl will have big chance to appear:

    1. Moses
    2. Charmaine
    3. Kenny Wong
    4. Ada
    5. Maggie Shiu

Well, Kenny Wong in 776’s series, if he isn’t an eunuch (WAB) then an useless man (DOP) then a gay (GOL). Heaven Burn wasn’t aired yet so can’t know but if it’s a man without children any one more time, I’ll ROLF.

    1. Read in KA that Maggie Shiu said she’ll film a Qing dynasty series in Nov. Probably this one. I’m right. Now we have Charmaine and Maggie, only need to wait for Moses, Kenny and Ada.

      1. 776 means chik lost luck. After WAB none of Chik’s has high rating

  11. Anyway, as I was reading this article, I was imagining Jonanthan Chik beating his chest in pain for not rigging the awards back then to award the best actress award to Sheren instead of Gigi. Too bad he placed the wrong bet back then if not he wouldn’t have a headache now 😛

    1. I was imagining the same thing…. Now that Gigi has retired I really wonder if Jonathan Chik can turn back the clock, would he have chosen Sharen for the best actress award then instead of Gigi??

    2. HAHAHAHA Ah K! I think the producer only has a small percentage of the votes for who he tips for Best Actress. It also depends on the audience’s vote and the TVB board community.

    3. Who won the award was in Chik’s hands? I thought it’s the decision of the execs.

    4. TVB took a bad move. They chose Gigi coz she was younger (and gave 620 designer handbags) therefore had potential to help them earn a bit more money. But who knows that a few years later, Gigi decides to retire from showbiz and Sheren continues acting and RB and NR even more famous. Now Sheren doesn’t give a sh*t…. Bad move TVB.

Btw, in other news, Stephen Chan’s corruption case verdict came out today and he is NOT GUILTY… muahha….. i hope he gets rid of 620 – i don’t like her. ICAC should be investigating her designer handbags business.

      1. Lol, SC’s coming back might be a disaster to whoever jumped out of his ship. Maybe not luck.

      2. 620 must be scared stiff now!! ROFL I wonder what Steven will do to her

      3. @Vivien: I’m thinking about the same thing… after her appearance in court as a witness. And also another executive (dunno his name but he used to be on the same level as Stephen), bad-mouth Stephen so much in court. ICAC had a pretty weak case to begin with so I’m not too surprised with the result. I still think someone in TVB betrayed him and leaked the info out…… If he knows who it is, he’ll retaliate.

What’s gonna happen to Wong Hei? 620 didn’t treat him very well and refused to resign contract with him. Wong Hei is currently Stephen’s BFF. Lots of lead artists have left TVB over the past 2 years so I think 620 has a lot to answer for. Either she doesn’t have the negotiable skills to give a better offer or just poor management and just promoting the wrong ppl.

      4. @ lara

“Btw, in other news, Stephen Chan’s corruption case verdict came out today and he is NOT GUILTY”

Thanks for the info. I must go read the details. Miss Lok’s and some other fadans’ evidence were quite damning especially Miss Lok’s. I would like to see why the judge find him not guilty. But, I’m happy for him. At least, he can give sigh of relief now.

      5. Kidd, I expected that. Evidence may be damning but not to him. He was never directly involved so there is no connection.

      6. 620 position must be severely threaten now because SC is higher position than her and she gave him an opposition testimony in court. Now SC come back and I’m sure he will make sure 620 fell down after her testimony against him.

      7. I think after this we might see Patrick Tang rise up and Wong Hei coming back and 620’s favourites leaving TVB instead ROFL

      8. @Vivien: 620’s fave left TVB means TVB will push Patrick Tang to be man lead? Ouch.

      9. @Fox

Patrick Tang, Wong Hei and who else are SC favs? Maybe Steven Ma will change his mind and extend his contract now that SC come back as innocent. Amigo was but he fell rock bottom. Sammul Chan left TVB and vow to not come back.

      10. Last time has Fala and TY. But both changed ship and Fala now has the support of Uncle Four – new boss of TVB. Amigo Chui is also a fave of SC but it’s hard to save him now. Wong Hei and Steven Ma both decided to leave TVB. Only Patrick left. Ah, Louis Cheung is also his fave. Louis Cheung, husband of Kay Tse, not Louis Koo nor Louis Yuen. Dun mistaken.

      11. Other news today said Wong Hei, Patrick Tang and Steven Ma express their happiness for SC’s release.

      12. Read it today, too. Now will cross fingers to see wat SC will do. All last time, reporters said SC will destroy or frozen these 4 but I have never seen.

      13. I’m not a fan of these four but isn’t Stephen Chan taking this too personal for his battle with Lok? These four artistes are very popular in HK and mainland or at least beginning to get really popular and appreciated after their performance in GJ and LOO. This is what I saw from weibo and netizens.

TVB must be a shady corporation if they can stop Raymond from going to HuaYi, Bosco from Media Asia and Kevin from mainland companies but let Stephen Chan easily frozen them. I’m happy I don’t work for TVB.

      14. Compared to Patrick Tang and Amigo Choi, I prefer to watch Raymond, Bosco, Laughing and Kevin. Wong Hei is good but we need new blood too. No offense. I hate Virginia Lok too but that doesn’t mean I want to watch Stephen’s honeys being promoted 🙁

      15. If I have to choose, I’d rather choose Amigo over Patrick. At least Amigo can be a good MC.

      16. Breaking news! News said Stephen will chase out many people including 620 and 4 lead actors out of TVB: Raymond, Bosco, Michael Tse and Kevin Cheng!

        http://weibo.com/1893802153/xmsdbEKB5

I will take this news with a grain of salt. I find it downright silly. Stephen Chan just got out of trouble. He would not want to ruffle any feather for now.

Secondly, I would think Stephen would have more EQ than to take whatever grudges he has with Virginia Luk on innocent actors who were just doing their jobs. What more, these actors are the one bringing in money to TVB.

Lastly, I don’t believe Stephen is that powerful that he can kick anyone out as he pleases. There have to be reason. If Virginia didn’t do anything wrong, what reason does he have to kick her out?

      17. @Kidd:

Since SC fell victim to some politics at TVB I’m sure he will take 620 down and destroying those 4 HOT artists is because they are 620’s most powerful trump cards. He might be using the strategy to take down his opponent’s strongest weapons first to make her weak ROFL.

In normal office also innocent workers always get stepped down in fight among bosses.

TVB is full of politics and since a lower position 620 assumably can take SC to court for a case where he’s proven innocent, I don’t see why a higher position SC can’t take 620 for all the handbags that many aspiring fadans gave to her ROFL

      18. @ Vivien

Sorry, I still can’t see Stephen Chan doing something like that. His most crucial mission now is the run company well and help the company make money, not help company pour rice.

Also, why would you be happy if SC gun for 620 and her 4 favs? I thought you are a Raymond fan?

      19. @Kidd – I like Raymond but I hate 620 more. I hope SC can make TVB better than what 620 is doing now. LF wont have problem keep getting success even if he get out of TVB. He might get more success and money outside.

      20. Rumour that 620 will leave TVB next year and heading to Shaw Brother.

  12. I do feel bad for Tavia. It’s worse to be praised for something you did wrong. Unless, someone is brave enough to tell her that her performance in Beyond was bad, I doubt she would change. Unfortunately, she has enough reason to think her acting was good. Good ratings, 2 acting awards and a mainland spinoff. While I do feel bad for Myolie for being overcriticized at times, She is better off at being underestimated than overestimated. When she acts badly, the HK audience doesn’t hesitate to criticize her.

    1. This is true. 🙂

I also found Tavia’s acting very loud and annoying in BTROC, and the fact that she received two awards for it doesn’t seem to justify it.

WAB has a darker feel and more subtlety to it than BTROC. It was both due to the script and the lighting, but I dislike how TVB series are always soo bright, especially for ancient dramas. I’m enjoying the darker feel right now in LOO.

    2. This is true. It’s already bad when you receive something underserving and worse when you don’t realize it because you get awards, ratings and invited to act for the same character again. The HK audience underestimated Myolie once and when she comes back this year with stronger performance she got the rightful push for the the award she deserves :D.

    3. don’t understand the criticism for tavia she is one of the great actress in tvb now. the rest besides a few are amatuers

      1. I do think she is a good actress but I just don’t think she is the leading type.

      2. she can play sherens characters during her younger days before and just after entering the palace.

LOL if she can’t be the leading type who can in tvb among her generation?

      3. Yes Tavia is not ready to lead her own series yet. She lacks the charisma needed to carry a series and I have reservation about her in another scheming character because of her OTT performance in BTROC

      4. LOL if she can’t be the leading type who can in tvb among her generation?

I think of Myolie and Linda. Linda’s acting isn’t really good but she has the capacity to lead a series.

      5. “LOL if she can’t be the leading type who can in tvb among her generation?”

You will be surprised to know those who is charismatic need not be good actors, those who can act may not be good leading actors. I always consider Tavia as the 2nd type and she works well in an ensemble series with other better leading actors but on her own, like Angela Tong, she may fall flat

      6. Myolie yes but Linda still lacking the experience…. she’s got no capacity to lead a series on her own yet. Her series are mainly boring. Still not up there yet. Miss Koo was just a little glimpse … don’t bank too much on one performance.

      7. never liked myolie and don’t think her acting is that good

as for linda yeah i agree.

      8. I think Tavia has the leading charisma. She play leading lady adequately before BTROC.

      9. Not really. Look carefully. Like Moses, she is always surrounded by others. To my knowledge one of the few truly leading man is Kwong Wah. He had to babysit others. I miss him.

      10. @Funn: Oh I totally like Kwong Wah in King of yesterday and tomorrow as well as Journey to the west. Meh he is so cute! One of my biggest fave.

    4. @ krize150

I know what you mean, but I seriously doubt it. The person who would tell her has to like you say, be really brave because if they do say anything unflattering about her even in the constructive criticism way on her forums or even Weibo, there will be heaps of die hard fans screaming for the person’s blood. Some of those fans are just plain scary. I think these ‘fans’ act more like love crazed individuals sometimes. It’s hard for a celeb not to lose oneself when their world (crazed fans) think they are the greatest thing to have ever walked on the Earth..

As for Tavia, I really hope she improves her acting especially her evil acting. She needs to keep up her game or she will get left behind in the end. I think she did really well before and during MR but after that, her performances have kinda gone static. While I commend her effort in BTROC, her evil acting really needs more work. She should learn from Sheren’s Yu Fei snd the Empress in WAB. Their evil or cunning was very suble but at the same time intense without having to yell, scream and be OTT.

      @Chriselle

“WAB has a darker feel and more subtlety to it than BTROC. It was both due to the script and the lighting, but I dislike how TVB series are always soo bright, especially for ancient dramas.”

I agree. I really dislike TVB’s current way of filming. How it flashes and closes up on the actors and their expressions all the time when they are having their scheming, angry or evil eyes. It’s such a dead giveaway. It’s hard to see why the other characters in the series don’t know that those are the bad people, lol.

      1. “She should learn from Sheren’s Yu Fei snd the Empress in WAB. Their evil or cunning was very suble but at the same time intense without having to yell, scream and be OTT”

ROFL ya true! Tavia need to learn from these experts! There’s no need for her to shout and having her eyes bulging out everytime! Sheren and the emperor have evil glares too but their glares are fierce without bulging their eye sockets out ROFL!! They also don’t act maniac and shout like crazy lmao

      2. Haha, yea that’s true. All the shouting and extreme facial expressions just make the character look angry/crazy instead of evil.

  13. Too bad, Sheren can’t make it for the sequel of the WAR & etc. She really make a good evil concubine with her intense evil glarring. Still remember her playing evil first then good in the end.

As for Tavia and Kate, maybe we should give them a chace to prove themselves in this kind of grand production… it’s refreshing to have young actresses like kate and tavia to be around too.

    1. I’m watching LOO and I think Kate did inject something into her lips. It’s so filled up and tight. It’s a bit distracting like Tavia’s nose.

Her lips was ok in Relics. I hope if she’s casted in WAB2, please don’t do anything to her lips anymore. Let it reduce to its original shape.

I hope to see both Tavia and Kate in WAB. Maggie and Ada are great actresses. But, wee need some young looking actresses to be concubine.

      1. @Kidd,

Is her lips a bit crooked in here too? I can’t see it as tight, but now that you mentioned it, I when she press her lips together, I think it was slighted crooked?

I don’t know why she would do something to her lips though. They looked fine before. Although Tavia’s nose was too sharp after it was done, I understand why high noses are more desirable, but lips? 😮

      2. @ Chriselle

I don’t find them crooked. I find the lower lip too straight when normal lips should be curve.

  14. I understand why they choose Tavia to be in War and Beauty 2 since she did get two awards for her characters in the “Beyond the Realm of Conscience”. Tavia even took the attention away from Charmaine at that year award show. I don’t know about Kate too but since recently her characters display some level of evilness/seductive, I guess she is fit to be part of the casts.

But I was wondering why Myolie and Fala are not cast here. I was thinking maybe Tim Gor needs Fala in his sequel. Not sure about Myolie but maybe she has mainland jobs.

I was hoping Sheren can get back up where she had fall and film War and Beauty 2 but I understand if she has to choose it is only right to choose Rosy Business 3. But I felt like in term of popularity, I think War and Beauty 2 might over shine Rosy Business 3 since I hear some people are getting tired of Rosy Business. I think War and Beauty sequel might seem more appealing. So I am hoping the best for Sheren and don’t want War and Beauty to do her wrong again if she can’t participate in it.

I felt this way is because the cast in War and Beauty 2 sound like they are either TVB biological sons/daughters or their favorites. Rather Sheren and Wayne are not. If TVB are going all out for promotion, then I felt like they will favor more on War and Beauty and take this opportunity to promote their own people again.

    1. I think Myolie already took part in ancient series called “The King Among The Phoenix”. If she joins the sequel of War and the Beauty, i think it will confuse audience with their costume similarity.

As for popularity term between the WAR and Rosy, it’s hard to judge now since Tim Gor is a good director who managed to capture the attention of many audiences always with his intense heart capturing storyline.. so its really hard to say which is more popular. I personally like the fighting between concubines though lol.

    2. Myolie’s evil queen in the upcoming Queen of All. Let’s see she can provide us a better acting and character than TY or not. Maybe if she wins Best Actress with it, like your logic, Mr. Chik will invite her to the WAB2 :P.

BTW, it’s just a tabloids and nothing to confirm that TY and Kate will truly be invited to this series. Who noe that in the end, only one of them or none of them will be invited.

      1. I’m looking forward for Myolie’s evil queen role. It’s her first time being evil 😀

      2. I’m so scared of Myolie’s upcoming role. She just started gaining some momentum from GJ. I hope this doesn’t fail!

      3. I’m guessing that Myolie’s evil role will be annoying. But I’m hoping not!

    3. IMO, Kate’s villainous performances are much better than Tavia’s, so I rather see Kate in WAB than Tavia. TVB should actually try giving Tavia some comedic roles, since I heard she’s been trying to get her hands on some comedies for a while.

      1. The most participating actress in WAB that i want to see is Ada Choi, dunno why, she always capture my attn. whether in that comedy series of her as superwoman and etc. It has been quite a while that Ada didn’t cast in ancient series and i really would like to see her in this kind of custome hehe

      2. I like Kate’s performance in MR. Her performance there impressed me enough to convince me that she is evil.

  15. I also think that either Ada or Tavia will replace the role of Sheren Tang. Lets see who will be getting the role.

  16. Anyway, I was asking myself the other day, what are the most memorable scenes of “War and Beauty” and it had to be the scenes where

    1. Sheren was forcing the Emperor to touch and hold their miscarriaged baby, so that he will remember this moment and felt that he owed her for the rest of his life.

    2. The ending scene where we discovered to our horror that Maggie Cheung Ho Yee’s Onqian has been hit by an arrow during their escape from the palace and her lover, Moses Chan’s Kong-Wu, was still ignorant about it and continued ranting on about their happy lives ahead while steering their horse carriage.

    3. The scene of Bowie Lam’s Sun Bak Yeung and Gigi Lai’s Yuying dying together in a fire.

    1. I got one. The scene where Bowie’s father knew his son was dead and cried whilst kneeling on the floor. Heart breaking. But yes On Sin dying was just cruel. Can’t give her and moses a happy ending can’t you TVB?

    2. The first scene of Sheren warm up her baby and bringing her to the emperor is the most memorable for me.

    3. Another impressive scene: When the queen is revealed she is the evilish.

      1. You mean Rebecca Chan?? Of course her acting is great.. She is a veteran actress…

      2. Veteran doesn’t immediately translate to “good acting”, HTS.

    4. One of my fave – Sheren writing calligraphy to calm herself. I don’t know how she was able to remember her lines and still act like she was really writing.

The beginning when Gigi Lai revealed her new hairstyle in hopes of capturing the King’s attention.

  17. Agree with Ah K and thinks that the most memorable and extremely touching scene was when Bowie Lam and Gigi Lai dying together in a fire. Its as if their love was so intense that they had to die together in such a way. Although I was not a fan of that series, I did like Bowie and Gigi in it.

  18. According to Sudden NO.840, the cast for WAB 2 is Charmaine, Moses, Kenny (confirmed), Sheren (thinking), new faces: Wayne, KC, Maggie. Out: Bowie, Maggie Cheung and Gigi. Ada said she didn’t know about this one.

    1. Bowie out??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Bowie was so good!!!!!

Maggie Cheung also did a terrific job too. Gigi wasn’t bad but WAB sheren and maggie took the limelight.

Moses – ugh – his recent works and rumor with Aimee is making me not liking him too much.

Charmaine – it’ll be nice to see how she’s doing after the departure.

I want Sheren and Wayne both in this but I guess it all depends on the story line.

      1. Well… Bowie did die in WAB. Maggie also. And Gigi too. He died in the fire, so unless TVB can do a Laughing Gor, Bowie is very dead in WAB.

      2. Weeell, they could always make it that it wasn’t really them who died in the fire. Yu Fei managed to find them before the fire killed Bowie an Gigi’s characters, saved them and replaced them with other people to make it look like they died to the Empress. As for Maggie, they didn’t really showed that she died, she just became quiet and closed her eyes and Charmaine was crying at the back. So they just made us assume that she died. So if tey really wanted, they could always say she fainted then but she was saved and healed in the end.. Just expressing my opinion that if TVB wanted to bring those characters back, they would. They have used much more ridiculous means to bring back their cash cows (Laughing anyone?). Haih.

      3. Well, Maggie was so hurt she was dying. Bowie and Gigi died together. They had to, if not she would die anyway since she was pregnant with Bowie’s child. I don’t see why Yu Fei would go all out to help them. Remember Yu Fei was despicable too. I never liked Yu Fei, quite a hypocrite.

Frankly TVb can of course bring them back. But that would be stretching credibility and I will not watch the sequel. I’d rather the story continues with Yu Fei and stop with the others.

    2. 772 indicate that it will not be a continuation of WAB ending. It will be a different story/cast and they haven’t even film yet.

If Sheren is in RB3, I don’t think Tim Gor will leave out Wayne Lai too. The schedule will definitely clash. Plus, 772 is very unlikely to use Wayne & KC.

The tabloids is coming out with a, b, c ‘cast’ everyday… soon we’ll see Stephen Chan casted too 😛

p.s. 772 did use Kate in Heaven & Earth sales presentation clip, so there is chances of Kate to be in WAB2. Has she filmed 772 series before?

From what Maggie indicate to her mainland fans, 772/TVB has not approach her for WAB2.

      1. It will be a different story/cast and they haven’t even film yet.

Oops, I mean 772 said they haven’t even started writing the script/story yet.

      2. Has she filmed 772 series before? — This refer to Tavia Yeung.

      3. No script yet? But fans and media already writing one for them! Stephen Chan can be in as a wronged eunuch or something. I hope they set the story in a different dynasty.

Anyway then why dub it WAB sequel? Or is that media’s dubbing?

      4. @Funn,

Yes… 772 said so in news today. He’s currently still negotiating the main cast.

TVB dubbed it WAB2 just to ride on the popularity of the original series. Same like Burning Flame… the trilogy doesn’t connect, only the theme remained.

SC as wronged eunuch seems like a good idea.

      5. Chik is famous with reused cast all the time. So it isn’t a big surprise if he reuses his favourite cast.

When WAB2 is truly filmed, we all don’t know. The real cast, maybe we should wait until the announcement is published.

SC as a wrong eunuch? Well, then invite Wong Hei, too.

      6. SC as a wrong eunuch? Well, then invite Wong Hei, too.

Haha… hope the cast can tolerate WH then. As long as I’m spared of seeing Patrick Tang in leading or major supporting role. The possibility of ‘salt fish coming back to life’ for him shudders me.

      7. My hope is smaller. Please don’t replace Mimi Lo and MC Jin in JSG by Patrick Tang and Louis Cheung anymore. Seeing Patrick as a wooden MC is over my tolerance.

‘salt fish coming back to life’ – Haha.

BTW, Wong Hei is kicked out of TVB. Now SC comes back, I guess Wong Hei will come back, too?

      8. I’m confused now. 776 or 772?

“Plus, 772 is very unlikely to use Wayne & KC”

Chik has used Bernice, Linda and Bosco before so anything is possible.

“Stephen Chan can be in as a wronged eunuch or something”

ROFL!!!!!! :D. Add Wong Hei as his saviour in the palace!

      9. If 772 really want to use Kate I think I know what her role is. She will be a villain or someone who seduces her way to the top!! ROFL!!

      10. 772 = Chik Kei Yi. 776 is a tease to Chik because it means Chik lose luck.

  19. I think there is high chances that Ada will be in WAB2. 772 and her said in news today that they’re currently negotiating schedules, but it’s too early to say.

Ada just posted in her weibo, saying that she did not outright reject projects to take care of her baby full term as claimed by tabloids.

  20. I think Ada and Tavia will be good additions but will definitely miss Sheren in there if this confirms to be true..and er..please no Kate!!

  21. I like War n beauty but i hope this time TVB will cast a better looking emperor to match the beauties.

  22. I wish one day Gigi would come back and film TVB serie.

Also, I think Ada and or Tavia are good addition to the cast for WB2 because some of the old ones are not returning.

  23. I think tvb should cast in linda, myolie, tavia kate and fala for the younger concubines and leave WAB 1 at that. just make the sequel a new storyline with the new generation of actress and actors!

  24. I say, go for War and Beauty 2. Rosy business 1 + 2 are enough… no need to make another darn series.

  25. I believe that Michelle Yim should take part in war and beauty 2, she could play jessica chan’s role (if it’s not taken of course)? Idk, but i think that if the eunuch isn’t going to be released, then definitely get Michelle to take part in this new drama with susanna kwan? I find that their quarelling scenes in HOG and BTROC was very interesting.

I agree that Rosy Business 3 is not necessary, and also i think kate shouldn’t be taking the role. If she does i think the cast will be weak, although TVB is probably trying to promote their fadans, but i still think that some of the actresses are going to be weak for their roles. Why not have like Linda chung or something? But that’s just my opinion, i think they need more veterans actresses as WAB was such a big production!

    1. Michelle Yim will make a beautiful Empress if there will be an Empress in the drama. Who’s Jessica Chan?
