Kenneth Ma Loosens Up the Atmosphere for “Flying Tiger II”

Shaw Brothers’ web drama Flying Tiger II <飛虎之雷霆極戰> boasts a star-studded cast—in addition to the return of original cast members Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), and Ron Ng (吳卓羲), it has also brought in a new line of actors, including Lawrence Ng (吳啟華), Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Christine Kuo (苟芸慧). Kenneth plays an inspector of the CIB, while Christine plays his wife.

Earlier this week, paparazzi spotted the Flying Tiger II crew filming several outdoor scenes near Kai Tak of Kowloon East. Kenneth was considerably late to the set and was seen rushing through his costume change and makeup. Nearly running from one direction to the other, Kenneth didn’t want to delay the filming progress any further.

Kenneth didn’t have that movie star attitude and was extremely friendly and respectful to everyone on set. Whether it was with his costars, the on-set voice actors, or the backstage staff, Kenneth was extremely communicative and made jokes to loosen up the atmosphere.

At a different filming unit, the atmosphere was completely different. Things tightened up when Michael Miu and Lawrence came on set. Lawrence looked serious and Michael was constantly on his phone.

Flying Tiger II, co-produced by Shaw Brothers and China’s Youku, is a sequel to 2018’s Flying Tiger <飛虎之潛行極戰>. It also stars Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧) and American actor Lee Pace in his first Hong Kong television drama.
