Raymond Cho Upset at Pharmacies for Hiking Up Prices

With the coronavirus outbreak, many people have been frantic about buying up supplies, in which face masks, toilet paper, rice and more have already been sold out in Hong Kong. With the need for essentials, many pharmacies have raised the prices for masks from $10 HKD to hundreds and even thousands of dollars HKD per box.

Actor Raymond Cho (曹永廉) was very upset to see this increase in prices just when locals need the supplies the most. He spoke out on social media and took a picture of the pharmacy, where boxes of masks made from various countries were stored. Each box contains 50 masks and the price range was from $500 HKD to $550 HKD. He wrote, “Where is the humanity in this?”

Regardless of the epidemic, Raymond is very supportive and thankful for those in the medical field during this time. He encourages everyone to take caution of their personal hygiene, which includes washing their hands and wearing a mask. “Support Wuhan! Support China!”

    1. @ak47 – Judgemental much? I don’t think he is trying to be relevant or irrelevant. He is just voicing his opinion on the price hike. So is everyone who tries to speak out trying to be relevant? That’s why so many people are afraid to speak out against injustice because they get negativity from other people for doing so.
