Celebrities Who Got Married Because of Pregnancy

Within the entertainment industry, there have been many artistes who had shotgun weddings, and some who immediately got married following the birth of their baby. Below are some highly publicized celebrity marriages that are due to pregnancies.

Steven Cheung (張致恆) and Au Yin-man (區燕雯)

Steven’s marriage to his fan Yin-Man, affectionately known as Man-man, made headlines for a few reasons. Last July, several women came forward claiming that Steven had cheated on them when news broke that Steven had been dating Man-man and that they became proud parents of a baby boy. This ultimately led to the cancellation of the BOYZ concert and his friends turning their backs on him. The backlash prompted Steven to wed Man-man in a low-key manner and finally settle down and work odd jobs to support his family. Today, Steven announced they welcomed their second son into the world.

Jinny Ng (吳若希) and Alex Ho (何兆鴻)

In 2016, Jinny announced that she was dating her now-husband, Alex. Within the same year, the couple shared that they were expecting a baby girl, whom Jinny gave birth to in 2017. Immediately after her birth, the couple went to sign their marriage papers. Although both marriage and birth are happy occasions, negativity shrouded the events. Netizens criticized the looks of Jinny’s daughter, but Jinny immediately came to her defense online. Divorce has also been in the rumor mill given that Jinny often complains about her husband publicly, but Alex has previously said that he is accepting of Jinny’s hardheadedness. Moreover, the couple is proving naysayers wrong with their second pregnancy, which they recently announced.

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and Jeremy Leung

Linda was at the peak of her career when she suddenly announced her engagement to Canadian chiropractor Jeremy. There were already rumors of pregnancy during that time, but the couple vehemently denied it. After their wedding ceremony, Linda finally revealed that she is pregnant. She gave birth to her daughter Kelly in 2016 and welcomed their second child Jacob in 2018. Though the couple has a 13-year age gap, they have proven that age is just a number.

Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺)

Aimee and Moses’ love story began in 2010 when they met through the drama, Master of Play <心戰>. In June 2013, the pair had a shotgun wedding in Paris while Aimee was several months along. Aimee gave birth to their son later that year in December. Over the next three years, the couple welcomed two more children into their lives, forming a happy family of five. Though they have three children, the couple is still madly in love and often posts sweet family photos on their social media accounts.

Andy On (安志杰)  and Jessica C.

Sparks flew between the couple when they met on the set of  Zombie Fight Club <屍城> in 2013. After less than two years of dating, Andy popped the question while on a trip to the Maldives during Jessica’s pregnancy. Unlike the other couples mentioned here, Andy and Jessica didn’t get married until two years later in a tropical wedding in Hawaii, with their daughter Tessa as the flower girl. Since then, the family of three grew to a family of four with the addition of their son.
