Sisley Choi Announces Departure from TVB

After months of speculation about her departure from TVB, Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) has finally made it official. In March, Sisley confirmed that she has officially left TVB.

In her social media post, Sisley wrote: “Thirteen years — a chapter beautifully completed. Farewell greenhouse, the tree is now stepping into the wilderness. To old friends and new, I humbly ask for your patience and guidance. I am actress, Sisley Choi. Thank you TVB for everything. All the joys and hardships have been a precious lesson. This bond will continue. If the right opportunity arises, I’ll be more than glad and always ready to return.”

The 35-year-old actress first rose to prominence after placing first runner-up in the 2013 Miss Hong Kong pageant. Just three months after the competition, she was cast in her first drama, Inspector Gourmet <為食神探>. Although her career was once overshadowed by controversy surrounding her alleged fake academic credentials, TVB continued to push her as one of its rising stars. Her efforts eventually paid off in 2020, when she won Best Actress at the TVB Anniversary Awards for her performance in Legal Mavericks 2 <踩過界II>.

In recent years, Sisley had a noticeable drop in work. Her most recent leading role was in The Airport Diary (飛常日誌), which was filmed in 2023 and aired in 2024. Many believe the slowdown may be linked to the negative publicity that has followed Sisley throughout her career. With Sisley absent from new dramas in recent years, rumors of her contract ending with TVB had already been circulating. Her profile mysteriously disappeared from TVB’s official website, while the contact information for her former manager was quietly removed from her Instagram page. With the mounting chatter, Sisley finally confirmed parting ways with TVB.
