Raymond Lam Tears Up When Holding Infant Actor

In the upcoming horror film Baby Blues 3D <詭嬰>, Raymond Lam (林峯) and rookie actress Janelle Sing (盛君) portray a young couple who are haunted by demonic spirit – the baby, Jimmy.

After giving birth to twins, one a baby boy, one a stillborn, Tin Ching (Janelle Sing) develops postpartum depression and begins to behave oddly. She becomes overly attached to a doll called Jimmy, an old baby doll the couple found abandoned in their new home when they first moved in.

Filming for Baby Blues 3D was quite rigorous for the onscreen couple. In one particularly memorable scene, a delusional Tin Ching runs to the edge of the second story balcony and throws out her newborn son, almost killing him. As the infant actor was only a few months old, Janelle had to practice the scene with a life-sized baby doll before officially filming the sequence. She ran up and down the apartment at least twenty times.

Janelle was so immersed in her practice that she bruised both of her legs. She assured that they were just skin-deep wounds. As Baby Blues 3D’s Tin Ching was Janelle’s first major starring role, she was willing to take the extra sacrifice.

After Tin Ching tosses her son out the window, the baby lands on a blanket that was hung on a clothesline. Her husband Yip Ho (Raymond Lam) immediately saves the baby. When filming that particularly scene, Raymond was in tears and expressed genuine happiness to see the baby safe and sound.

“I’ve spent some time with the baby, so when I was doing the scene, I could easily imagine the baby as my son.”

Baby Blues 3D also stars Kate Tsui (徐子珊) as Ying Nam, a popular singer who hires Yip Ho as her record producer. Irene Wan (溫碧霞) stars as a famous writer who was the previous owner of Tin Ching and Yip Ho’s haunted home.

  1. ….wait so they really did toss the live baby over the balcony? hahah i’m confused

    1. No, she carried the real baby hovering over the balcony as in over the outside on the second level but of course not toss the real baby out of the window.

Finally see Raymond have a pregnant wife who actually gives birth and becomes a father. Wish he played some of these roles in TVB.

      1. Apparently it’s too much of a hassle for TVB to hire a live baby and wait until they get the baby to stop crying for the shot.

    2. ” Sadly both babies in the above photo don’t look the part, not so horror. ”

      1. The son (the normal one) is not supposed to be creepy/horrifying. Very cute and innocent looking.

  2. Does this picture remind anything of A Tale of Two Sisters? How come all horror movie posters have this cliche setup lol.

    1. Because the baby’s fart or waste odour stung his eyes.

Or maybe he wishes he had a baby like that in real life, but Karena BB is too young for that.
