18-Year-Old Liu Haoran to Lead “Nirvana in Fire 2”, Chen Kun Also Included?
Shrouded in mystery, not much is known about Nirvana in Fire 2 <琅琊榜2>, the anticipated sequel to last year’s hit television series. Although principal photography will begin in November, the studios have been keeping it hush hush on the sequel’s new cast, perhaps hoping to drop huge surprises once they’ve decided that it’s time to make the final announcement.
Nirvana in Fire 2 will feature the same creative crew, including screenwriter and creator Hai Yan (海宴), directors Kong Sheng (孔笙) and Li Xue (李雪), and producer Hou Hongliang (侯鸿亮). Like its predecessor, the sequel will be set in an alternate history version of the state of Liang, and will continue to revolve its plot around the Langya Hall. Nirvana in Fire 2 will be separated into two parts: the first part will be titled “Langya Bang: Wind Rises Through the Forest” <琅琊榜之风起长林>.
According to new reports, Wind Rises will be headlined by rising actor, 18-year-old Liu Haoran (刘昊然). His character is currently unknown, but it is possible that he could be playing a descendant of one of the original characters. Liu Haoran made his debut in the 2014 film Beijing Love Story <北京爱情故事>, earning him a Best Newcomer nomination at the Beijing College Student Film Festival.
There are also rumors that Chen Kun (陈坤) and Tiffany Tang (唐嫣) may star in the second part of Nirvana in Fire 2. The studio has yet to confirm or deny these claims.
