Ali Lee Is Ready to Film Dramas Again

Cutting down on drama output due to health reasons, popular actress Ali Lee (李佳芯) says is ready to start filming again!

Ready for Any Role
Appearing at promotional activities for myTV Super’s 7th anniversary celebrations, the 40-year-old was asked about her upcoming drama Desire (transliterated) <慾>, which was slated to start production around March or April, but was delayed. Announced as part of TVB’s 55th anniversary lineup, filming for the drama will likely commence at the end of the year. “There will always be considerations around dramatic budget, characters and the plot, changes may be somewhat massive since contents have to be up to standard,” shared Ali, who is not too worried, and would rather start filming with everything sorted out.

Updating fans on her health since taking a hiatus in 2019, Ali updates that she is now fine after a period of rest. “I have no illness or pain, I think balance is key be it physical or emotional health,” Asked when she will take on her next role, Ali replied, “I’m ok anytime, you don’t see me around usually, but I’ve been preparing myself so I can do my best on set when the time comes,” Ready to welcome any challenge, Ali does not want to set boundaries when it comes to the kind of characters to take on, as “each role has its fun aspects”!

On Losing Out to Her Lookalike, Jacky Cai!

Others in the top 10 list include: Erica Chan (陳嘉慧), Regina Ho (何依婷), Rosita Kwok (郭柏妍), Gloria Tang (鄧佩儀), Tiffany Lau (劉穎鏇), Kelly Cheung (張曦雯), Hera Chan (陳曉華) and Moon Lau (劉佩玥).

With significantly less TV exposure, is she afraid that viewers will forget her? Ali shared that she has been working on other platforms through which she can also connect with fans and viewers, and would rather enjoy what she is busy with. Placed second in a recent poll of “TVB’s Top 10 Most Gorgeous Fadans ()”, ironically behind 34-year-old actress Jacky Cai (蔡潔), who is often labeled “Ali 2.0”, Ali calls the result a “normal” phenomenon, “Everyone has their own preferences, she has her market appeal and brings something refreshing”! Not having worked with Jacky, Ali only met her at the station’s anniversary gala, but did not find the resemblance too striking.

Eager to improve herself, the single actress spends her free time learning new sports like tennis while going for voice training classes. Not harboring any expectations when it comes to relationships, however, she is currently enjoying time with her many friends and living each moment to the fullest!

  1. I miss seeing her on screen! I hope she gets a good script for her next drama. Jacky is fine, but I find Ali prettier still. She probably only came in second because she’s been on hiatus. That trailer needs a lot of work… I could’ve done without that weird voice at the end saying “yok!”…

  2. im always weirded out by the similarities between Ali and Jacky, it’s not just the way they look but Jacky’s acting style and the way she delivers her lines is VERY similar to Ali, always wondered if she studied the way Ali acts and tried to imitate it or it’s just a coincidence.

  3. Jacky reminds me of Lee SanSan more than Ali, but their voices do have some similarities – very clear diction, soft and a little clipped sometimes. They also make some of the same notes when talking.
