Bosco Wong Not Ready for Marriage with Girlfriend, Jun

Although Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) has dated Japanese model Jun for a year, they continue to spend more time apart than together. The couple generated sparks last year while filming a commercial for a Japanese company. Bosco splits his time working in Hong Kong and China, while Jun bases her career in Japan. Bosco felt helpless over their long-distance relationship as both of their schedules are very busy.

Earlier this week, Jun spent three days in Hong Kong to film a new commercial with Bosco. Right after the filming was completed, Jun had to leave. Asked how they can advance their relationship with such little time together, Bosco said, “There’s not much I can do! My filming is already scheduled into November and later I have to film Heart and Greed <溏心風暴3>.”

Bosco indicated that he currently has no plans for marriage nor children in the near future. In an earlier interview, he admitted that his mother wants him to get married but his work is too busy. Also, Bosco has not discussed marriage with Jun.  “We haven’t talked about this topic yet. I can still gain new experiences in the next few years so I don’t want to get married or have children yet.”

Not Disappointed in Best Actor Loss

Although Two Steps from Heaven <幕後玩家> was well-received, Bosco lost the TVB Best Actor award to Ruco Chan (陳展鵬). Bosco had already revealed that winning Best Actor never crossed his mind. “The most important thing is for the series to generate good buzz, be well received, and have viewers like it.”

Recalling having to get into character for his backstabbing and villainous role in Two Steps from Heaven, Bosco revealed that this character hit very close to home. Having broken a friendship over money, Bosco said, “I’ve known this friend for 10 years ever since we started school and it was because of money that we drifted apart. It got to a point where I couldn’t maintain this friendship and had to give it up. In the end, we would just be friends who say, ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’.

“To be honest, I’m afraid of lending money because it’s harder to ask for the money back than asking to borrow money. I’m too soft-hearted and I’ll end up helping. If you say you’ll pay me back next month – chances are, most end up not being on time or they would never show up. There’s no sense of responsibility! It just hurts friendships. In reality, money that’s lent is pretty much guaranteed to be gone for good. ”

Plans After TVB

Signing with Shaw Brothers, Bosco will continue to film TVB dramas on a project basis. He revealed, “I think I’ll still spend a lot of time working in Hong Kong because it’s my home. I’ll miss it too much if I leave for long periods of time.”

While Bosco has become a successful restaurateur, he admitted that he is not motivated by money. “I enjoy my work giving me a sense of accomplishment, such as operating a restaurant. Actually, how much money can you earn from one restaurant? Even if I earn $500,000 (HKD) every month, I may already earn this amount from my endorsement and stage appearances. But why do I run a restaurant? It’s because I enjoy the process and the satisfaction it gives.”
