Celebrity Weddings: Lai Lok Yi and Nicole Lee

Planning their wedding for nearly a year, TVB actor Lai Lok Yi (黎诺懿) and his girlfriend Nicole Lee (李潔瑩) wed on November 11. The couple held a large banquet at Hong Kong Parkview, inviting many friends within the entertainment industry.

On the wedding day, Lok Yi drove his father in-law’s $2 million HKD sports convertible to pick the bride for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony.  During the marriage ceremony, Lok Yi declared moving wedding vows and kissed his wife, earning blessings from their family and cheers from the crowd.

Money is Not an Issue

Nicole soon left behind her entertainment career to manage the family beauty business, which is valued at $500 million HKD.  Although the media frequently highlights the financial disparity between Nicole and Lok Yi’s family backgrounds, Nicole insists that Lok Yi is well liked by her parents.

Lok Yi commented on the money issue, “There’s not much that can be done. As long as my wife and in-laws understand, I can only work harder to close the gap between our financial disparity.”

TVB Artistes Attend Banquet

Banquet attendees included Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Christine Ng (伍詠薇), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧), Monica Chan (陳法蓉), Grace Wong (王君馨), Florence Kwok (郭少芸), Eileen Yeow (姚瑩瑩), Mandy Cho (曹敏莉), Carlo Ng (吳家樂), and many artistes.

Friends with Lok Yi for 10 years, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) gave the newlyweds her best wishes and urged them to have children soon. Come Home Love co-stars Lisa Chong (莊思明) and Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) teased Lok Yi’s nervous state when he forgot the lines of his prepared speech at the banquet hall.

Honeymoon Will Be Delayed

The couple’s honeymoon will be delayed due to Lok Yi’s work schedule. After getting married, Lok Yi will only be taking three days off to spend with Nicole before returning to the filming set of TVB sitcom Come Home Love < 愛.回家>. Not upset that Lok Yi has to work so soon after their wedding, Nicole expressed that she greatly admires Lok Yi’s work ethics and his career focus.

Additionally, the couple plans to enjoy another two years of married life before thinking about having children.

Underwater Wedding Photos

Prior to his wedding day, Lok Yi shared several photos from his wedding album on Sina Weibo. The theme of the wedding photos was based on the Five Element philosophy, a traditional Chinese theory that refers to the elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth. The Five Elements are used to explain interactions and relationships between various phenomena, virtues, and cosmic cycles.

In the photos representing water, Lok Yi and Nicole took surreal underwater photos. In the photos for wood, Lok Yi and Nicole became one with nature in the forest. In the photos for fire, Lok Yi posed nearly shirtless in front of a background with red lights, representing passion.

Fans praised the creativity and uniqueness of the couple’s wedding photos, though some remarked that Lok Yi’s photos for fire reminded them more of a pseudomodel photoshoot more than a wedding album.

  2. Somehow, I don’t like this guy. He’s obnoxious in ‘Come home, love’ and i don’t like him in all other dramas.

    1. I used to dislike him because of his lazy intonations, but he has been able to get rid of them. He has improved a lot in “Come Home Love”. It was only his character in “Come Home Love”. In real life, he may not be the same.

  3. lai lok yi and nicole really have the husband&wife matching looks…no wonder its match-made in heaven looks..i beleive its real love and not solely due to financial alone…i surprise tavia yeung never attend…chris lai used to drop by tavia house long time ago with rumours of love spark between them

    1. I think Lai Lok Yi was dumped by Tavia Yeung. He met Nicole some time after their breakup. I am glad for Lai Lok Yi who eventually found someone who really love and care about him. It is always better to love and to be loved than just to love alone.

      1. If he was dumped,it would be strange for her to come or be invited. I wonder how many people would invite their ex boyfriends/ girlfriends to their weddings?

Anyways, congrats to them both and it seemed like they both had a memorable day. Love their outfits and the photos! Great to see so many buddies from the circle coming too.

  4. Congratulations Lai Lok Yi and Nicole! To me, he does not seem the type of being a “Soft Rice King” like Louis Cheung’s character in Come On, Cousin 🙂

I wish both of you being happily ever after. I like you, Lok Yi in Come Home Love. Your acting has definitely improved as compared to a few years ago. Supporting you!

P.S. I didn’t know that Linda is close to Lok Yi. Never knew that.

Tavia is currently filming in the Wudang mountains for her new TVB series.

  7. Lai Lok Yi looks like the younger (if he has one) brother of Danny chan pak keung

    1. Yes he has a slight resemblance to Danny, Lok Yi also said it himself too in an interview I read before. But he doesn’t possess the aura that Danny has.

  8. Interesting concept for wedding pixs.
And he does look like Danny Chan Pak Keung1

Other than the money disparity which keeps coming up as news, don’t know this couple well … but wishing them all the best in their journey together.
