Chapman To Establishes Scholarship After Newfound NFT Wealth

Known for his outspokenness and eccentric personality, Chapman To (杜汶澤) is often in headlines due to his outbursts. Perhaps due to the drama often surrounding the 49-year-old actor and his public stance on pro-democratic movement in Hong Kong, he has not had any filming projects in recent years. Instead, he has turned his career to Taiwan and invested in his own production brand.

Recently, Chapman announced the launching of an NFT (non-fungible token), which is a non-interchangeable unit of data that can be sold and traded. Quickly profiting $38 million Hong Kong dollars, he announced utilizing his profits from the NFT to establish a scholarship for Hong Kong students studying in Taiwan.

“In order to encourage Hong Kong students in Taiwan to work hard, as the Chairman of the Taiwan-Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Association, I hereby announce that the Hong Kong Students in Taiwan scholarship has been officially established!” His announcement garnered thousands of likes, to which Chapman responded, “Hong Kong people do business overseas and give back to their own people.”
