Chingmy Yau Drives a Ferrari to Pick Up Daughter from School

Former Hong Kong actress Chingmy Yau (邱淑貞) was recently seen driving her teenage daughter Sham Yuet (沈月) to and back from school with a bright red Ferrari worth at least $3 million HKD earlier. Chingmy Yau and her daughter were also seen shopping at the family’s I.T store in Causeway Bay. When they discovered the paparazzi, Chingmy Yau told her daughter to snap a photo of the stalking reporters with her own phone.

Turning 14 years old, Sham Yuet is allegedly going through her rebellious streak. Sharing her mother’s beauty, it was said that Chingmy Yau feared that her daughter may be secretly dating. To watch over Sham Yuet and prevent her from making mistakes, Chingmy Yau took on the role as the daily chauffer, bringing her daughter to and back from school every day to watch Sham Yuet’s every move.

Due to Chingmy Yau’s strict parenting, reports claimed that Sham Yuet did not like to confide to her mother about her own personal problems, taking toll on their relationship. To cheer her daughter up, Chingmy Yau convinced her husband to pull strings in order to have their daughter meet with the K-pop star G-Dragon, Sham Yuet’s favorite idol, at an awards ceremony after-party last November. Chingmy Yau and her daughter have grown closer over the past few months and the two are often seen shopping together.

  1. Ok, to pacify her daughter, and keep the mother and daughter relationship close, this woman is willing to buy an it car to transport her offspring. Chingmy Yau even had her husband pull strings in order for her daughter to meet G-Dragon to keep the teen from acting up.

Wow, all I see is a spoilt young brat who will manipulate her parents, especially her mother to get her own way, or she will rebel.

Yes, young teens will go through growing pains, but as parents, we need to be there for them, spend time with them, let them know that we love and trust them, explain to them that we also went through the teen years. Buying hip toys is not the answer. Rewarding them with luxuries when they act out is not a good idea either.

    1. Some parents are like that esp rich ones I think. I once worked for a company where this jewish family’s first grandson came along, one part of the freaking office became the princes’ DAYCARE center filled of all kinds of toys that you can think of that literally fills up a like a daycare center. Needless to say, the kid is selfish as heck and thinks he has money to burn even at a young age when you shouldn’t even know what money is. Some parents are unbelieavable.

      1. @windy,
How old was that kid? Just curious. You are so right when it comes to rich taking their family’s fortune, for granted. I guess many who have not suffered through hardships will not understand. You know the saying that if a needle has not poked you, then you will not know that it hurts. I think that is how it is with the rich kids who take everything for granted.

        @trini,
Well said and I agree with you. I think since Chingmy has the privilege of being wealthy so she does not need to work, therefore, she has plenty of time to take care of her kids, discipline them, etc… But sadly she seems to just spoil them.

      2. HTS,

I left a few months ago after his 7th b/d. He’s so spoiled and gets to a point where he does not wish for another sibling or sharing w/his toys w/schoolmates. When you too much at such a young age and parents do not even care, who is it blame really. OH well, I am sure there are lots of such parents I just happened to see it in that freaking office. haha LOL…

    2. Well Said!

Temporary ‘fix’ to keep her daughter~mom happy, which also helps keep communication going … but in the long run, what does it serve?

If Chingmy is wise, she can manipulate their current-cordial communication to get those better messages across to her daughter.

Though probably easier said than done.

It’s a very materialistic, instant-gratification world that pre-teens and teens live in these days. Often ‘hip and it’ goods are tied in with self-worth and self-esteem. Consumerism and being kewl is king.

NOT just them = sadly the whole world is heading that way, hence wistful comments about “how lucky some celeb is” when hubby buys her a yacht. (like seriously?!)
So what is one stripped of those surface trappings?

Ironically, ‘strange oddballs and weirdos’ are instead the people who think indifferently and look for sterling inner qualities which define a ‘cool’ human instead.

    3. Agree with you, I dont know what to say about kids these days. Dont know whether they’re lucky or unlucky. I mean lucky where most of them have a lot of material things, unlucky is because they’re too pampered & protected and they wont be able to face they real world when they grow up.

One of my friends told me that he has to buy everything his 21 years old daughter wants because she’s the only daughter for him (he has 2 other boys). He’s afraid his daughter will sell her body if he doesnt buy her things she wanted like those latest gadgets like phones. I’ve nothing to say but just bless those kids!

      1. “daughter will sell her body” (think Little Karena)

Some teenagers these days practice “casual” sex, which is really pathetic. If parents nowadays are too busy to properly teach their kids, there are plenty of sex addicts/perverts (think Edison, etc.) lurking out there who will gladly prey on them. This Little Red Riding Hood (and Big Bad Wolf) story has been around for ages for good reason.

    1. Her face looks pumped with botox or something. What a terrible waste.

By the way what happened to Cutie Mui??

    2. WHO?? With a name like Cutie, how will she deal with such a childish ‘name’ when she’s over 40? Just like Angela Baby will have to drop the baby at 60.

      1. Names can easily be changed, especially when it is most likely not their official name.

  2. In hindsight, it is so useful to have cute celebrities growing up. In my day, it was chun bok keung and yoyo ma (hahaha – I still love yoyo ma!) Otherwise, how will you remember a marker of that era’s emotional level if there wasn’t someone like that to ooh and ahh over.

I am SHOCKED that Korean celebrities are that popular though – but I am also pretty insular. I remember misidentifying someone as Korean in high school and at the time, the only thing I thought about Koreans was that they weren’t full time Chinese and not necessarily loyal to the Chinese.

    1. Haha… I was just thinking of what to name her hahaa…Thats a great one. She does seem to aged well but then again since she had 3 kids, she has a good excuse? haha LOL

    2. She looks good for her age,but a bit unnatural as well. It must have been due to fillers and Botox and other stuff. Hey,she has the money to maintain her looks.

  3. i thought her hubby’s not doing well? they moved out of the house into an apartment? no?

  4. all i was thinking about in the whole article is, i wanna see what the ferrari looks like
