Felix Wong Provided Unwavering Support to Late Wife Leung Kit Wah
After a seven-year battle with leukemia, former TVB actress Leung Kit Wah (梁潔華) passed away at the age of 59. Throughout Kit Wah’s illness, husband Felix Wong (黃日華) tried his best to provide her a comfortable lifestyle. Even as Felix balanced his work obligations, he would find ways to prioritize his wife’s needs.
Kit Wah Thankful for Felix’s Support
When Kit Wah was diagnosed with leukemia in 2013, she made frequent visits to the hospital for chemotherapy and assessments. As a side effect of her treatments, Kit Wah began to experience hair loss and depression, but thankfully, Kit Wah could depend on Felix for unwavering support.
It is reported that Felix often accepted jobs in Mainland China in order to pay for Kit Wah’s medical fees costing $100,000 Hong Kong dollars per month. When he was not working, Felix would accompany Kit Wah on her medical appointments. During her hospitalization, Felix would insist on staying in the private ward to be close to her.
To ensure that Kit Wah can live more comfortably, Felix bought a 3000-square-foot detached house in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district and planted many colorful flowers to liven her spirits.
Family is Top Priority
In the early years of their marriage, the couple did experience some marital problems. Felix was rumored to be involved with Ada Choi (蔡少芬) when the two were filming for Justice Pao <包青天> in 1995. When Felix realized he was the object of TVB’s promotional tactics, he was extremely upset and even smashed his fist against the studio make up room mirror.
Due to Felix’s long work hours and the lack of time together with the family, Kit Wah had admitted that they thought about divorcing before, “He asked our daughter whom she would choose and Adrian replied that she would choose me. He instantly decided against [a divorce] since he didn’t want to lose everything.”
In 2002, Felix announced that he would retire from filming even though we had just renewed a contract with TVB. While Felix did not provide any explanation for his announcement, rumor emerged that Kit Wah felt neglected as if she were a single mom taking care of their daughter Adrian Wong (黃芷晴) by herself. In order to focus on his family more, Felix chose to retire at the peak of his career and said, “We can have a career for only a moment in time, but a family can last a lifetime.”
