What Felix Wong Does When He Misses His Late Wife
In May, Felix Wong’s (黃日華) wife of 32 years, former actress Leung Kit Wah (梁潔華), passed away after a seven-year battle with leukemia. Grieving deeply over her passing, Felix has been healing with the help of his close friends, but there are still many days when he will miss Kit Wah dearly.
The couple’s daughter, Adrian Wong (黃芷晴), revealed that Felix often thinks of Leung Kit Wah. Attending a promotional event for a Swiss brand of watches, which is Adrian’s first job since the passing of her mother five months ago, she shared that her mood has stabilized for the most part. “The first two months were the unhappiest. After the funeral, we had to wait for an appropriate time to place my mother’s ashes in the columbarium. This happened during the third wave of COVID-19, when my father and I were stuck at home, giving us even more time to dwell in our unhappiness.” Adrian and Felix now visit Leung Kit Wah’s columbarium frequently after her ashes were placed there.
When feelings of deep loss tugs at Felix’s heart, he would look through his old photos with Leung Kit Wah. Printing all the photos of his wife from his cell phone, Felix would carefully cut each photo and laminate it before placing into a photo album. “There must be at least 10,000 photos! Even though the situation may appear humorous as he made himself so busy, I can see how much he misses my mom. I feel so touched by his actions,” Adrian said.
After the passing of her mother, Adrian made sure to spend more time with Felix, “I was really afraid that he would have no friends because he is a homebody. He doesn’t usually step outside of the home or go to dinner gatherings.” Aside from Felix’s soccer friends, Adrian is glad that Michael Miu (苗僑偉), who has been good friends with Felix for over 30 years, reached out to offer comfort and spend time together.
